My Unconventional Lover: Seeing A Different World-Chapter 189
189 Should I Prove To You Again?
(Jane’s PoV)
I watched as their expression darkened; only four of them, of course. The other two looked surprised but I could see that they were pleased with my development.
Only these four people looked like they had been face-slapped so hard that they couldn’t contain the displeasure in their heart.
“Milady.” Siji came forward and greeted me.
“Oh, you’re here.” I nodded at him. Why didn’t I see him right after I summoned the men?
“Did the Elders bully you?” He asked calmly. It might as well he didn’t ask it since he didn’t really show his concern whether I was bullied or not. “Well, I doubt that. It must be you who bullied them.” Siji’s lips curled up in a teasing smile as he took a long glance at me.
The reason he could be that calm was because he was sure I wouldn’t be the one who was being bullied. Such a good assumption, though.
“I didn’t.” I smirked.
“Yeah, you didn’t.” Tom appeared beside me with his body exuded white glow belonged to the army. Sanji was right behind him.
.....
What were they doing surrounding me like this?
“With just one glance, I know that they don’t like you.” Sanji said.
“Well, I am just kid, so obviously they don’t like me.” I shrugged. Talking about petty, I could be petty if I wanted to.
“Well, you’re dismissed. Just enjoy the banquet and the night.” I said to the army. With the whole hall filled with them, I doubted the humans wouldn’t feel disturbed.
At least, I had shown them what I could do.
After I said that, those hundreds of men dispersed instantaneously, leaving only Tom and Siji who were still standing beside me.
“I apologize for the sudden disturbance, please continue the banquet.” I sincerely offered my apology towards the people who had come to the banquet.
However, the strange thing was... I couldn’t find any annoyance in their expression. Instead, it was astonishment or admiration. The way they looked at me was somehow different with how they looked at me at the beginning.
Was it a good thing or a bad thing? I chose to ignore it, lest it made me overthinking.
I turned to see the Elders. “If you have any complaint, just say it to me tomorrow. I can’t listen to it tonight for I am too tired to properly process any complaint. You can’t expect me to be nice and polite to you if you insist to show me that ugly expression on your face every time you look at me. When I finally have a proper rest, let’s talk about it again. Is that okay with my dear Elders?” A smile was plastered on my face as long as I talked.
This was the least I could do to save them some face. Ain’t I a nice kid?
Well, I doubt their faces still could be saved, considering what I had done just now was almost like declaring a war to them.
But, they were old souls, right? They should be magnanimous and loving the youths, right? As an ignorant youth, they couldn’t really blame me, but instead they should assist me with guidance, right?
Only at times like this I would use my ‘youth’ card. Otherwise, I refused to say that I was still young, too green to understand the world. I had seen my share and since my life was not like any normal girls’ life, I pretty much understood some principles.
“Save your sarcastic thought inside and control your expression. If one didn’t know you better, they must have thought that you were plotting to do some mischiefs.” Tom whispered to my ear.
“Let me guess. You must be thinking about how you will anger those poor old souls to death, right?” Sanji guessed in a whisper. His usually calm and mature eyes twinkled with trouble, as if he wanted me to ask him to tag along when that time came.
“They’re dead already. You will only torture them instead of killing them.” Siji added calmly. “But, it’s even better.” Even he displayed a smirk.
These people... How could they say that as if those old men had gone? They were still right there! Even though they were sitting a bit far from us, but there was a huge chance that they overheard what we were talking about.
Okay, most of it was done in whisper, but SIji didn’t whisper. From what Siji said, I believed as the smart ones, they could roughly deduce about the topic of our talk.
Well, whatever.
I shifted my attention towards Sir Ahmad who was silent during the commotion I created. With a smile on my face, I apologized to him for it and he warmly said that it was okay. Didn’t he indulge me too much?
The banquet was over before midnight. It was a rule that no banquet, party, or any gatherings went past twelve. All people should have stayed in their house, unless they were the security guards. And to my surprise, the souls who stayed in Satu Village had the same routines as humans.
They also could sleep like humans.
The next morning, I was woken up by a knock on my door. For a while, I felt lost. I thought I had returned to my home, but after closer investigation, I remembered that I had finally reached Satu Village.
Probably it was because I had finally had a good sleep, probably it was because I wasn’t tired anymore, my mood was superb. It was so good that even when the maid called me ‘Princess’, I didn’t flinch.
Don’t get me wrong. There was nothing wrong with the name ‘Princess’. It was just, in my mind, the term ‘Princess’ was close in meaning with those graceful, love-struck women who wore dresses and often associated with pink color.
Of course, there were some princesses who were as brave as men and those were my kind of princess. However, I still couldn’t help but flinch whenever they called me ‘Princess’ with those sweet and soft voices.
Everyone had different preferences, but sometimes people would judge others based on this tiny information.
After getting rid of those maids, I cleaned myself and just realized that it was almost midday. Ahaha...
Wearing my comfortable clothes, I went out from my room and found Tom and Sanji were sitting in the living room, talking comfortably.
“Ah, finally you’re awake.” Tom was the one who noticed my presence.
“This is your breakfast. The servant had just sent it here.” Sanji turned his head to look at me before he pointed at some plates on the table. “After this, you are needed in the Elderly Hall for discussing about the thing that brought us here.”
I nodded my head as I heard what he said. They must want to ask about my father and the purpose of my visit. As much as I wanted this thing to end fast and for me to find my father as soon as possible, I still sat on the chair and started eating calmly. I didn’t rush myself to finish my meal quickly since I knew it would be bad for me.
Sanji and Tom continued their conversation, but I honestly couldn’t understand what they were talking about. It was something about ‘breathing control’, ‘exhaustion’, ‘in and out’, and other words that I knew the meaning but when it was put together, I really didn’t know what they were talking about.
My eyes widened when I saw Tom rubbed his own ass and said that ‘the last time was hurt like hell’ and needed Sanji’s cooperation to be gentler next time.
What the... 𝒇𝔯e𝚎𝘄𝑒𝑏𝙣𝑜𝚟𝗲𝑙.c𝘰𝚖
I blinked my eyes as I stared at those two grown-up men that were engaging in a serious conversation. Probably sensing my sharp stares being shot to them, both of them turned their heads towards me and blinked their eyes.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Sanji asked.
“Are you full already?” Tom added.
I gulped hard. Indeed, I had stopped eating and I had already felt full, even though seconds ago I was sure I could finish all of the food on the table.
Putting my spoon back on my almost empty plate, I blinked my eyes awkwardly. Should I ask them? I didn’t want to meddle into two men’s situation, but asking it directly was better than presuming it, right?
But, what if they admitted that they were in that kind of relationship? My face contorted in unwillingness as that thought entered my mind.
No, no, no. I shook my head quickly.
“What is it?” Tom was frowning as he came to sit beside me. I couldn’t help but notice that something was off with the way he was walking.
Oh no, no, no, calm yourself, Jane.
“Don’t tell me you are thinking of something absurd again, do you?” Sanji’s expression darkened as he shot me dangerous look with his sharp eyes.
He must have thought what I was thinking since it was not the first time I made such a remark about... you know, two men in relationship. After all, he had been accompanying me watching movies and drama that he had heard me making comments about it.
I let out an innocent smile. “Is it not true?”
“What? What is it?” Tom was still clueless. As expected of my boyfriend who was sleeping for two years, he was still innocent.
Sanji’s expression still darkened to the point I could see thick dark cloud over his head complete with the lightning and thunder.
“She thought both of us engaged in gay activities.” Sanji said coldly without shifting his gaze from me.
“Ahaha...” I let out an awkward laugh. So, was I wrong?
“What?” Tom’s voice dropped two notes and I thought I felt my body shivered in cold.
His face was no less scary than Sanji’s. It was clear that both of them were offended with something that I had not even had a chance to say.
“Dear Princess, while you were having your own beauty sleep this morning, Tom and I had woken up and started training with Siji. Since. Early. This. Morning. I don’t know where you had that thought from or which part of our conversation that led you to have that perverted thought, I can only say to you that you are overthinking things.” Sanji stated coldly with a little hint of anger in his voice.
“Should I prove to you again that I’m normal?” Tom growled in my ears as he moved his body towards me.
“I’m sorry. Let’s go to the Elderly Hall.” I got up quickly and ran away as fast as I could without looking back.
Damn, I didn’t know those two could be that scary when they were pissed off! I really couldn’t do or say anything, that’s why I could only run away from them.
Well, I knew that running away wouldn’t solve the problem, but at least I had time to think about it carefully so that when they confronted me late, I knew what I would say.
Speaking of which, where was this Elderly Hall? I looked around but I couldn’t see anyone near the Red Residence, which was kind of strange. 𝑓𝑟eℯ𝒘𝗲𝑏n𝑜𝚟𝙚𝒍.𝒄o𝐦
“Siji.” I called for my last resort to find the hall.
“Yes, Milady.” Siji appeared and bowed down politely.
“Show me the Elderly Hall.” I said to him.
“This way, Milady.” Siji stepped aside and showed me the way to get to Elderly Hall.
“About Sanjaya and Tom...” Siji started as we walked a bit far away from the Red Residence.
“What about them?” I arched my eyebrows as I took a long glance at him.
“Suspecting them for something that they didn’t do, are you ready to face the consequences? I overheard something just now, that they would show you how wrong you are.” Siji said calmly.
My body stiffened as I unintentionally stopped in my track. My eyes widened. Staring at Siji’s calm face, I found that it was hard to believe what he said.
“You’re lying.” I said before I continued my steps.
That’s what I said, but deep inside, I was feeling slightly panic from the information. What was going to happen to me?
.....
