My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 53- Limit (Part 2)
Chapter 53- Limit (Part 2)
"E-Excuse me?" Elio took a second to realize what she said. Then, he blinked and looked at her. "Get undressed?"
"Yeah, take your shirt off." She said.
Elio was completely speechless. The request was so sudden and completely unexpected. He didn’t even understand where it came from. What was the purpose of him taking his shirt off in this cold weather?
"Why?" He asked as he instinctively touched his chest.
"Sigh, well, to explain it in simple terms, you will have to sit under that waterfall shirtless. That way, the water could make contact with your skin for better results."
"Under that waterfall?" Elio blurted out as he looked at the large quantities of water falling down on the hard rock. The sound alone made hearing Fiona a very hard task let alone sitting under it. The weight of that water would crush him with ease. Not to mention that the water itself is freezing cold.
"I told you, this is going to test your limits way more than anything else. It is the most efficient way of cultivating your Blood Energy and improving your ability to focus under immense pressure. It will also boost your physical power greatly, alongside many other benefits." Fiona said.
"..."
Staring at the girl, he gulped a mouthful of saliva as he sucked a deep breath. "Ok, I understand."
’Somehow, taking my shirt off in front of her is still the worst part of it all!’ Swallowing his embarrassment, Elio started taking his shirt off. His physique was looking considerably better than before, so he wasn’t too ashamed of his appearance.
After taking it off, he was completely exposed to Fiona, who gave him a glance before she turned away.
"Now, go get inside to temper your body in the lake before you stand under the waterfall." She said.
Elio nodded his head and approached the lake. It was surprisingly not that deep, considering how much water is pooling into it. He tipped his leg first, feeling the chilling cold wrap around him. But he closed his eyes, sucked a deep breath, and then walked in until his lower half was covered.
His heart started racing, and his breathing became erratic.
’So cold... So damn cold...’ He shivered. ’I feel like my entire body is growing numb.’
However, at that moment, he remembered his Blood Energy. Immediately, he tried to channel his energy around his body to see if it could help. The moment it started circulating, a layer of aura surrounded his body, and in a few seconds, his body temperature increased and regulated.
He felt a lot warmer in the water, and it turned from a freezing bath to a lukewarm one... somewhat.
"It seems you learned to instinctively use your Blood Energy when met with such situations without me saying it. That’s good." Fiona said.
"Mhm, I thought that this could work. It is really helping." He said as he submerged his head under water for a bit before pulling it up again, feeling rather refreshed.
"Do you feel more comfortable?" Fiona asked.
"Yeah, it’s not too bad."
"Good. We will move to the next step then. Go ahead and step under the waterfall." She said.
Staring at it for a good moment, Elio found his heart racing and his anxiety taking over. However, he quickly shook his head and mustered his will.
’You came here to train, not to be a scared chicken. I need to be more courageous!’ His eyes flared up as he swam toward the waterfall, getting on top of the stone platform. The water splashed against him, blinding his eyes. But, with clenched teeth, he walked closer and closer, and before he knew it, the water was falling right on him.
Almost immediately, his knees bent, feeling the crushing pressure of water. It was like a bear was thrown on his back. The water was also way colder and harsher than the lake itself. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
But, by far the worst thing about it all was neither of those.
’Water is getting into my nose and mouth! Ugh!!!’ Elio found himself essentially drowning in the water. He tried to tilt his head down, but the water wrapped around his face and closed most possible rooms to breathe.
Immediately, Elio started panicking and wanted to leave the waterfall to find a room to inhale some air. However, he heard Fiona yell from afar.
"Calm down, Elio! You must not panic!"
Her words, as simple as they were, still woke him up from his anxious state.
’Calm down, right... I need to calm down. Channel my energy... Focus on channeling my energy.’ Clenching his fists, Elio closed his eyes and started circulating his Blood Energy to the best of his ability.
The aura wrapped around his body, creating a thick red layer of mist. At first, nothing happened, but as more and more of his energy formed a layer around him, the water started magically being deflected by it.
That alleviated some pressure off of Elio’s body, and he finally could breathe a bit. Even though water was still very much crushing his body, he was at least not as suffocated as before.
"Yes, Elio! Good, keep that state. I want you to channel your energy as much as you can and don’t lose focus!" Fiona said.
Elio’s brows frowned deeply as he focused on his breathing. The temperature had dropped significantly around him, and only his Blood Energy kept him warm.
’Calm... Calm... Calm...’
Slowly, with each passing second, Elio started finding his balance. He struggled heavily for a long while, failing to do a full circulation many times, but he didn’t panic and kept trying again and again, getting more and more familiar with the environment.
The process was slow and gradual, but Elio didn’t give up, and soon enough, he heard a satisfying notification.
[Your Improvement Rate has doubled.]
[You have gained +1 point in health.]
Elio didn’t even get the opportunity to celebrate as he had to maintain all his focus on circulating his energy. He could feel his progress and his improvement with each full circulation.
He was getting faster and way more efficient. What he didn’t notice was that his aura was also growing stronger and more vibrant, protecting him from more and more water.
Slowly, seconds blended into minutes and minutes blended into hours. Fiona sat a good distance away, watching him silently. She noticed that he had entered a completely focused state, one where his entire mind was detached from this world.
"Entering that state so quickly..." She muttered as she sipped on her tea. "He will never cease to amaze me. At this rate, he will evolve his Blood Energy control beyond Entrance level... He might even reach the moderate level before the start of the tests."
Just saying that alone would give any Vampire Hunter a stroke. It would take a normal Vampire Hunter decades to reach the moderate state, and some don’t even get to reach that level, yet Elio was going to do it... In less than two months.
Was there even a possibility that he was human anymore? Perhaps he was another creature.
Fiona, for the lack of a better explanation, started exploring those possibilities a bit more seriously.
