My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 57- I Did It!
Chapter 57- I Did It!
"Aaaaagh! So cold!!" He yelled as he felt his skin get lashed with the chilling water.
"Focus, Elio. You must start again, you can’t let your aura break like that." Fiona said with a strict tone. The boy clenched his teeth and nodded before he closed his eyes again and tried to re-establish his aura and protect his body.
’Focus, focus.’ He frowned as the barrier finally wrapped around him, and the water stopped freezing him to death. Yet, barely a few seconds after he did that...
*Flick*
"Ouch!"
Another pebble hit his stomach before he could even react. His barrier broke again, and the water splashed into him with no mercy.
"Focus! You must keep your awareness of your surroundings at all times. What if a vampire attacks your blind spot? You must be vigilant, Elio." Fiona instructed with a strong voice.
"U-Understood."
With that, the true training finally began. For the next hour or so, Elio was put under the biggest pressure ever. He kept trying to establish his aura and protect his freezing body from the water, but every time, Fiona would hit his body with a pebble, breaking his focus.
He kept getting splashed with water and poked painfully with pebbles until his skin started having red spots everywhere on its surface. However, Elio didn’t give up or feel frustrated. He simply resumed every time and tried to change his approach slightly.
His mind was as clear as ever, even though his body was reaching its limit quickly. His temperature had dropped, and the pain from each pebble hit made it all the more annoying.
Meanwhile, Fiona kept encouraging and pushing him. She deliberately didn’t give any instructions because she wanted Elio to figure it out on his own. Had it been anyone else, she would’ve given him a helping hand.
But, because it’s Elio, she knew for certain that he would figure it out quickly on his own. He has a level of intelligence when it comes to Blood Energy that she has never seen before. The boy basically understood it better than any other beginner by a far margin.
Even when it seemed very harsh, she felt like this was the right way to do it. To let Elio simply discover it himself, on his own way.
What she didn’t notice was that the boy was learning, even though it didn’t appear on the surface, as he kept getting hit. But his body was adapting rapidly, and his focus span became vaster.
With each passing attempt, his ability to establish his aura became faster and more efficient. The focused state he had to enter also gradually became less and less deep. Instinctively, Elio was forcing his body to learn to channel the energy naturally without the need for him to consciously do it.
Slowly but surely, one pebble after the other and cold splash of water after the other, Elio’s entire body and mind morphed slowly into the idea.
By the time two hours passed, Elio started not needing to close his eyes when using his Blood Energy.
’I can see while channelling my energy! This is amazing!’ He felt so excited. This was a major step in his training, and he was already there!
"Ouch!"
However, another pebble hit his body, making him groan audibly. Yet, the aura merely flickered before stabilising again. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
’It didn’t break either! Let’s go!’
"Ouch!"
"Focus, Elio. You cannot deflect the pebbles if you don’t see them coming." Fiona said from afar.
’She’s right. I’m far from done. The pebbles are so fast, they’re like bullets.’ He clenched his teeth as he looked up at Fiona as she walked around the lake, and then suddenly flicked one of the rocks at him.
The object flew so fast that before Elio could even hit it, it slammed into his chest. He squinted in pain before he quickly tried to focus again.
However, after several failed attempts, Elio started to realise that his reaction speed was simply not fast enough to keep up with these rocks. His vision and arms weren’t quick enough.
’... If I can’t see it or hit it in time, then... How do I do it?’ He thought to himself. The only other option he could think of was to obviously try to move his hand before the rock could reach him, or in other words, predict it and move before it.
However, it faced several problems. One of them is the fact that Fiona threw these rocks at random intervals without any sign. Another reason is that she flicked them from different angles every single time.
He simply cannot draw an image in his head that way.
’Then...’
"Ouch!"
Holding his arm, Elio sucked a deep breath before he calmed his mind. ’There is no point in trying these cheap methods... There is clearly another way.’
Staring into Fiona’s eyes, he could tell that she was expecting him to do something differently. So, he started looking into himself. What other options does he have? And how could these options help him?
’I want to stop these pebbles... And to stop them, I have to react in time.’ His brows knitted tightly as he dug deep into his own mind.
’I need to see the pebbles. But I can’t do that. I need to predict it, but I can’t do that either. I need to... sense the pebbles.’
Suddenly, out of nowhere, it clicked into Elio’s head. As if he had an epiphany of sorts, his eyes shot open as everything became clear out of nowhere.
’Sense the pebble! Of course! I need to use my Blood Energy to sense it before it hits me.’
His Blood Energy wasn’t just for boosting his physical power but also to sense his surroundings, as Fiona said. He had to use it with his own eyes.
So, quickly, Elio started working on that.
"Hm?" Fiona, who was walking around, noticed that change. Elio’s aura had suddenly started spreading wider and wider around him.
Her eyes widened for a second before a smile formed on her face. A very faint one. "I can’t expect any less of you, Elio... Two hours was all it took you to figure this out." She muttered with a proud tone.
A sense of satisfaction filled her heart for a moment, seeing Elio learn and adapt so quickly. In her eyes, he was already considered a very special person.
With that, she still walked to the next spot and then flicked the pebble. It flew quickly toward Elio, colliding with his aura. The moment it did, Elio suddenly received that info in his head. He could tell where the pebble was coming from, its direction, and its speed.
His body instinctively moved on its own to respond as he swung his arm.
*CLICK*
His hand hit the pebble, barely a few inches before it poked him. The pebble fell down to the ground with a click. Then, it was completely quiet for a second.
"... I... I did it!" Elio yelled as he breathed in and out. Everything happened so quickly that he didn’t expect it.
"I actually did it! Let’s go!" He celebrated passionately, his eyes flaring with excitement as he jumped in his place.
"I did it, Fiona! I did it!"
The girl stared at him from afar, a bit taken aback by his reaction, before she exhaled a small, proud sigh.
"Yeah, you did." She muttered.
