My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 64- My Life
Chapter 64- My Life
"Fiona..." He muttered as he approached her slowly, his body tired and in great pain. However, seeing that the girl was somehow conscious made him so happy that he could only smile in sheer relief.
Reaching her, he fell on his knees. The girl’s eyes were barely parted open as she stared at him.
"Are... you... fine?" She asked with a weak voice, barely audible to the normal ear.
"I am..." He muttered. "I will get you to safety, Fiona."
"Why... didn’t... you... run?" She asked with a faint frown as if she was trying to show displeasure. Fiona had told him before losing consciousness that he must escape and leave her there. But, instead of that, he had carried her for God knows how long even though his life was in great danger.
"I’m sorry. But, I would never leave you, cough, behind and run on my own. I would rather die and end it right there." He said with a serious tone as he spat a mouthful of bloody saliva to the side. "How long can you hold on, Fiona?"
"... I... don’t know... I feel... energy seeping out of me..." She said. Fiona could tell that she was dying even though she was conscious at that moment. Her healing abilities were simply incapable of keeping up with the brutal injury. Many of her organs were destroyed, and her spine was damaged from the attack, so she was essentially paralyzed. Not to mention the incomprehensible pain she was experiencing at that moment.
"I know I’m not that strong, but I will protect you. I won’t leave you behind." Elio said as he stared deeply into her eyes, conveying all the belief he had through that look.
The girl, even though unable to think properly, still felt a strong emotion in her heart. She exhaled weakly before she spoke.
"Just... find us... a hiding spot... They... will... find us... soon..." Fiona said with great difficulty.
"A hiding spot? Wait, they’re on their way?" Elio smiled widely in happiness. This was great news and not that surprising. Fiona must’ve told her butler that if she didn’t reply by a certain time, then they had to come and find her. She probably had some sort of chip on her that tracks her location.
"Mhm, I understand. I think I can find a good spot around here. I will pick you up now." He said.
"..." Fiona nodded faintly with whatever strength she had in her.
Slowly lifting her off the ground, Elio put her on his back and started the march again. He was even more hurt than before now. The bear’s claws had wrecked his chest, but luckily, it wasn’t deadly or even paralyzing; he was just suffering a lot.
The biting cold, the blood he lost, and the knocks he suffered, his body was completely exhausted beyond words. But all he could do was bite his teeth and continue; there was truly no point in giving up then and putting Fiona’s life on the line.
Even now, she was barely breathing, and her body was brutally cold. What was even more than that was the fact that she was still sweating as if she was feeling hot.
For 30 minutes, Elio walked them through the forest, searching for a good hiding spot. There weren’t many, but he found an empty tree husk, but it wasn’t big enough to fit both of them, so he decided not to put Fiona there.
He was praying that he would find something better. Then, as if his prayer was being answered, Elio pushed the bushes to the side and saw in front of him the perfect spot to hide.
"A cave?" He muttered as his eyes lit up. This was exactly what he was looking for. No, it was even better than that.
"I found a cave, Fiona. We can wait there." He said as he walked toward it. Checking the interior with his senses, he noticed that it went way deeper than he expected. But, since they were going to be sitting near the exit, it didn’t matter much.
Entering inside, he was amazed at how massive the cave was; the ceiling was dozens of meters high, and the stalactites hanging from its roof were long and massive, appearing like large spears rather than rock.
"So beautiful..." He muttered as he finally put Fiona in a comfortable position against the wall before he finally sat down and exhaled a long, tired breath. As the adrenaline rush started going away, the pain and hypothermia started attacking him violently. He rubbed his skin with his cold hands in hope of warming it up, even a bit, but it was a big failure.
He was shirtless, which won’t cut it. He needed way more warmth, perhaps even a fire.
’I don’t know how to make a fire. Tsk, I should’ve joined the camping club when I could’ve.’ He grumbled inwardly before he turned to Fiona.
"Are you ok? Do you need water? Should I get you anything?" He asked worriedly. However, the girl shook her head faintly as she rested there, trying to focus on her breathing and channeling her energy as much as possible.
That was her best bet to survive, using the Blood Energy to heal as much as she could before she could get actual medical help.
So, Elio nodded his head and sat next to her. He was silent, staring into the outside, to make sure nothing was approaching them. As he was like that, he suddenly got an idea and looked at Fiona.
"I’m going to hold your hand for a second, Fiona." He said.
"H... uh?"
Before the girl could say anything, Elio grabbed her hand and then closed his eyes. Channeling whatever was left of his energy, he slowly moved it through his body into Fiona’s. The girl was shocked when she felt the rich, strong energy invade her body. It didn’t hurt, and instead... She felt an incredible warmth, as if she was wrapped in a thick blanket.
Her pain decreased considerably, and her healing process increased drastically. Elio was feeding her energy to sustain her.
"S... top... Keep... it... to... yourself..." She tried to resist, but she couldn’t move. She could only sit there and take it. Her body hungrily absorbed the energy, feeling great pleasure from it.
In a matter of minutes, Fiona’s temperature regulated a bit again, and her bleeding completely stopped. She could feel some of her organs fixing up slowly, but she was still far from safe.
Her ability to speak, however, improved.
"Enough... Hah, please..." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
At those words, Elio finally pulled his hand away and stopped as he exhaled. He was now in a way worse situation, with his energy severely depleted. But he still smiled at Fiona.
"I owe you my life... This is nothing."
His words were honest and direct. They didn’t seem to carry any other intentions besides genuinely helping Fiona and giving her the best support they could give her.
The girl... was speechless. She had never experienced something like this before in her life. Seeing Elio not only helps her but do it without hesitation, risking his life and even giving her his own energy to survive.
She realized that he meant every word he said... He was ready to give his life away in a second. This boy... whose biggest fear wasn’t death... But to leave those he cares about behind when they need him.
He had done it again. This time, Fiona felt it directly... That incredible warmth.
