My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 81- Life With Me
Chapter 81- Life With Me
"I want to help you so you can live a good life too. I’m sure deep down you want to do things that you never got to do because of your responsibilities." Elio said as he finally released Fiona and chuckled awkwardly. "Ummm, I don’t know if I’m right or not, but that’s what I believe. I hope I’m not just being stupid."
"... N-No, no... You are..." Fiona looked down as she wiped her tears. Her heart has calmed down, and her anger has magically vanished. That hug had sucked all the negative feelings out of her mind and made her feel way better. She was shocked at how effective it was even though she didn’t like being hugged by others. Elio’s hug, however, was surprisingly very pleasant.
She didn’t feel the repulsive rejection of external touch that she usually feels when she touches any other person.
’Why... Why am I feeling this way? What is happening to me?’ She asked herself. ’Elio. What are you doing to me?’
"You are right. I’m..." She shook her head. "No, thank you. This is the first time I have ever been told this. I am a bit confused, but... Your words made me feel a bit better."
"I’m glad to hear that."
"Mhm."
Then, for a second, there was an awkward silence where neither side knew what to say.
"I just made-"
"I am going to-"
The two spoke at the time and then went silent again. Staring at each other for a second, Elio then started giggling.
"Haha, please speak first."
"No, please, go ahead. What were you going to say?"
"Umm, I was going to say I made pasta. If you are hungry, I can serve you a plate too."
*Sniff*
Fiona sniffed and finally noticed the fragrant smell of the sauce. Looking at the kitchen, she saw the steam rising. ’That smells nice.’
"Yes. I would love some too."
"Great."
"I will head to my room now. I will be out in a bit."
"Yeah, of course."
With that, the two finally separated, each going to do their own thing. The atmosphere died down. Elio pursed his lips as he continued preparing lunch. A while later, Fiona came out wearing different clothes.
They seemed a bit comfier, close to pjamas but still practical enough to go out with without standing out. Her hair was tied in a bun, and she had a towel in her hand, indicating that she had taken a shower.
It was a sight that took Elio’s breath away; she looked extremely gorgeous. A sight so different from Fiona’s usual cold and professional attire.
"Elio?" She noticed him staring at her, so she called for him.
"Hm? Oh! Yeah, ehem, lunch is ready." He said as he looked down, feeling very nervous. ’I was staring at her the entire time! Kill me!’
After calming his nerves, he set the plates on the table and started bringing the utensils, only for Fiona to approach him.
"Let me help."
The two served the table properly and then sat down to eat. Elio stared nervously at the girl as she picked up the first bite and tried it. His heart was racing, thinking she might not like it. After all, the girl was accustomed to the best chefs in the world making her meals. He was just another average Joe with average cooking skills.
However, shockingly, the girl opened her eyes wide and stared down at the plate, swallowing that bite.
"This..."
"D-Do you like it?"
"Yes. This is very delicious. I love it." She said calmly; however, he could hear the amazement in her tone.
’Why does this taste so good?’ She asked in her head. That bite was like a warm shower to her heart. It was a completely different feeling from the one she gets when she tries the food her chefs make. Those were ’objectively’ good. But that was it; they never made her feel anything.
She has always treated food as just another thing to do every now and then. But, this... This had brought her back in time, to a period of her life that she misses. A moment when everything was still so simple and sweet.
Just a single bite brought her on a train of memories back to her life as a kid.
’What did he even do to this pasta?’ She held her forehead, completely lost. This boy was driving her crazy. She didn’t even know if he was there to deliberately mess with her or if he truly was just this way.
"I’m glad to hear that!" Elio beamed at hearing her compliments. Then, he himself started eating happily. Fiona watched him silently, seeing the innocent, happy smile on his face. The way he moved his hand, the way he looked, the way he enjoyed the meal without worrying about anything.
She pursed her lips and then exhaled lightly. ’I... hope to never see that carefree look disappear from your face... Elio.’
Looking away, she faintly smiled. ’And I hope I will be able to look that carefree... one day.’
She didn’t notice that change of heart she had. Merely a few days ago, Fiona didn’t even think she would live beyond her goal, and that the moment she is done, her life will end. Yet, somehow, a desire has been born within her... A faint desire to perhaps see what could happen after that.
To see if there is truly happiness out there for her. If Elio’s words were true or false.
But even if there was nothing out there. Deep down, Fiona felt grateful for Elio that he saw her, that he understood her, and that he wanted her to be happy. He was the first and perhaps the last person to feel that way toward her, and that was more than enough for her.
She was completely and utterly satisfied.

A while later, the two finished lunch and brought the plates to the sink. Elio rolled his sleeves, ready to wash them, only for Fiona to frown and look at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Umm? I’m going to wash the dishes?"
"... We will just put them in the dishwasher." She said as she pointed down.
"Oh..." Elio froze and then blushed. "Ah, yeah! Of course, dishwasher! I totally know about that! I even have two back at home!"
"..." Fiona blinked and then looked away. "Yeah, you definitely... pffft... You do."
Her voice wavered, indicating that she was fighting the urge to laugh.
"Hey! You’re laughing! I can hear you laughing!" Elio pointed at her.
"Hm? No, what do you mean? I’m not laughing." She turned and stared at him calmly.
’Tsk, she hid it quickly!’
"I honestly never used one of these before. I always washed dishes by hand." He said.
"Well, let me teach you then."
Fiona picked the plates and put them inside the machine before she closed it and clicked some buttons.
"Then, they will be cleaned on their own."
"Whaaa... That’s amazing!" Elio muttered.
"Is it?"
"Yeah! Like, this cuts down so much work! Technology is amazing!"
"Well, you will be using this from now on. No need to wash any dishes."
"I’m so grateful! I will never have to suffer again!" Elio rubbed his temples, looking relieved as if he had seen nightmares before.
"..."
’... Interesting.’
