My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 91- My Wrath
Chapter 91- My Wrath
The moment Fiona left the school, a car stopped at the door and finally picked her up. Then, it moved away as fast as possible.
"Is he awake, Alfred?"
"Yes, my lady. He is awake and conscious, but he is still recovering. I heard he suffered an injury to his lung and several broken bones." Alfred said. "He had lost so much blood by the time we found him."
"I see... Did they find anything else at the spot?" She asked.
"No, not from what I know. Just the signs of a big fight."
"... Why did that idiot fight him? He was clearly instructed to investigate and return with new information."
"No one knows, my lady. He had done it of his own will, from what I heard."
’That bastard Virgo wouldn’t take on a losing fight, not when his name could be tarnished. What made him fight?’ She clenched her fists. She knew that young man well enough to know how he operated, and he wasn’t the type to aim for something clearly above him.
Even more than that, Virgo, as much as she hated to admit it, is one of the smartest and most cunning people she has ever known. She was certain he would be able to escape no matter the situation.
The fact that he put himself in such a risky situation meant one thing... Something happened to him that forced his hand, and he had to do it.
’I will know the truth. Even if I have to extract it from him.’ She thought to herself as the car reached the Vaylor Estate.
Fiona walked in and headed inside toward the room where Virgo was resting. His residence was hidden in a corner of the building where nobody would access it easily. The closer she got to his room, the colder the temperature of the house became. She also started feeling the icy sensation of his powers.
She already knew that Virgo liked his room to be extremely cold so he could rest, and that was why he chose to be in a room far away from the rest of the house so the workers wouldn’t freeze to death.
There, she found several people waiting. Some guards, some doctors who came to check on him, and some Vaylor members talking outside quietly.
"Good afternoon, Miss Fiona."
They all greeted her respectfully. "Are you here to see Mr Virgo?"
Fiona ignored them and approached the door. However, the doctors stopped her.
"Ummm, Miss Fiona... He is still resting and can’t talk to-"
"Open the door." She said coldly. "He can surely speak. I need him in an important matter."
The doctors looked at her with pale faces. They wanted to turn her request down, but they knew not to mess with someone like Fiona if they didn’t want their heads to fly off their shoulders.
So, they nodded and opened the door for her. Walking in, she looked at everyone.
"You can move. I will call for you when I’m done." She said. Her words didn’t say it, but they understood immediately that she wanted them to leave the premises with no questions asked.
They all nodded and walked away. Then, she closed the door and looked back. The entire room was like a huge fridge. The walls were frozen, and so was the rest of the room. It felt like she had just walked into a blizzard.
Walking deeper and deeper into the room, she finally found Virgo, sprawled on the bed, covered in ice and snow as if he seemingly were sleeping.
Stopping near the bed, she crossed her arms and stared at him. "Stop pretending like you’re asleep."
"..."
Virgo took a second before he opened his eyes and stared at her, his blue gems flickering with a cold glint.
"Why did you do that, hm? What the hell were you thinking?" She asked. "Do you understand the kind of trouble you would’ve caused me if you died? I do not need more responsibilities to carry on my shoulders."
"..."
"I expected you to find some clues, not fight the monster that almost killed me in one move. If he can do that, then surely you know you won’t last long against him."
"..."
Her words were angry but very calm and collected. She knew that it was pointless to senslessly blame him for too long, so she eventually sighed and rubbed her temples.
"So, what’s your reason?"
"... Reason?" Virgo finally replied.
"Why did you not run?"
"... I... have defeated him..."
"You defeated him?" Fiona raised an eyebrow. "And what made you feel that way?"
"He... was injured... I left one of my ice... shards inside his body... He can’t get rid of it..."
"Wait, you know where he is currently?" Fiona looked down, completely surprised. She didn’t know how he was able to do such a thing. That vampire moved so fast it was almost impossible to even touch him, let alone plant something inside his body. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Was that why he risked his life? To get that planted in him?
"... You..."
"He is still in that forest... Waiting for... him..." He said.
"Did he tell you why he is attacking us?"
The young man shook his head.
’It can’t be merely some fun time. That vampire knows their life is on the line and they still refuse to run after delivering such devastating blows.’ She clenched her teeth. Something doesn’t add up.
If that vampire truly wanted to deal as much damage to them as possible, he would’ve killed Fiona and Virgo, but he didn’t... That only meant that he was deliberately baiting them into something.
Her father probably knew that too, but he would still come here all the same because this matter far exceeds merely losing two of his strongest pieces... It meant his pride as a Vaylor is on the line, and his name would be run through the mud when the rest of the clans and hunters hear about it.
He had to take revenge whether he liked it or not.
"... Fiona..." Virgo spoke, finally snapping her out of her deep thoughts. "What are you... doing?"
"Huh?"
"What are you planning?"
"..." Staring into his eyes, she realized that he was trying to read her. He probably noticed that she was oddly quiet the past few months. That meant that she was planning something big.
"You will see for yourself." She said. "And you best believe... You won’t escape it either."
"... Escape what?"
"My wrath."
