My Werewolf System-Chapter 1301: I’m Not A Leader (Part 1)
Blackjack had been waiting, waiting for some type of miracle to occur. The extent of his powers, the powers that those from the ninth family had.
He didn't know the extent or effect it had. It was one of the few abilities that was hard to determine just how strong it was.
Yet he hoped in some way it would pull through, but with what had happened to Cooper and seeing how the rest were in distress, Blackjack was starting to wonder if he had made the right decision.
The miracle he had been waiting for wasn't going to come until it had done, and thankfully it was a person who he fully trusted with his whole life.
"We don't have to worry anymore," Blackjack said to himself.
"What do you mean? Even if it is Edvard, shouldn't we go and help him?" Lou shouted. "He's going up against an Iron Fang; it still might not be enough."
Roland and Edvard were evaluating the station as soon as they landed. Looking around at the hunters that were there, those that weren't, and their facial expressions.
That's when Edvard could see Joy, but he couldn't see a particular man next to her.
"Is Cooper gone?" Edvard asked.
Joy didn't answer; instead, she sniffled and tensed her hands, but Edvard could tell due to the sound of her heartbeat.
"Damn it, damn it, not him as well!" Roland shouted.
"The time we spent together was relatively short," Edvard said. "I thought I would be used to it, people passing before me, but I guess not, it always still hurts. He was a good man, and I'm sure it's because of him all of you were able to survive, so the least I can do is make sure none of you get hurt."
Edvard flicked his hand back, and blood aura started to form around his hand, just like it did when Blackjack fought.
"Donald, protect the others, make sure they don't get hurt!" Edvard shouted.
The whole situation from the very beginning had frustrated Edvard. His role in all of this, to be the leader of the Altered hunters, to guide them and be a puppet for the Settlement. He understood it well.
He knew it was best not to get so involved and so connected, but each time it was hard. Often he wondered, was he the strange one, for having lived for so long, and still feeling this way?
Everyone else had chosen to go into a slumber, so why hadn't he? Did he think his presence could help the vampires, help all of them?
He didn't know, but what he did know was he was filled with anger. Edvard shot off from his position using his super speed and reached right where Luzen was.
He swung his arms from the side to hit them, and Luzen lifted them up side by side to block the hits, but the third punch towards his stomach was fast enough to hit him. It was powerful and had forced Luzen to skid across the floor.
Before Luzen had time to even recover and look up, a flurry of blood swipes in the air were coming towards him. Luzen ran around the side and started to fire several of the arrows towards him; the glowing wolves all came out at different directions toward Edvard.
But it was a simple matter for him as he lifted his foot and slammed it to the ground. A red pulse wave expanded out and hit the wolves, making all of them disappear.
"What is going on?" Lou asked, his mouth open in disbelief.
"I have no idea, I never knew that Edvard was this strong," Joy replied. "I had heard some rumors about him being strong with that armor, but he's not even wearing it, this is just him."
"I thought he was hiding something," Roland commented. "This whole time, it didn't feel like he was fighting at his full strength, as if he was hiding something from us, and now we can see it."
"What do you mean?" One of the other hunters asked. "You mean this isn't how he normally fights?" freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Wait, now that I come to think of it," Lou said. "Isn't the power he uses oddly similar to the power that we saw Blackjack use as well? Are they using super powers or something like that?"
"Or they could be Altered," the other hunter mentioned.
"We're not Altered," Blackjack said. "Just know that we have the same goal as you, and everything we have done…it's been for your benefit as well."
Now that Luzen had seen all of his wolves disappear despite using the powerful weapon, he could immediately confirm.
"Now I see," Luzen said, placing his bow behind his back. "I have been waiting to face one of you; it's been the first time to finally go up against a leader. I wanted to know if my strength matched up to yours."
The hunter Luzen had usually stopped his hunts when leaders got involved. Similarly, how the vampires had warned them not to get in confrontation with him, the Werewolves were told to never go as far as attacking a leader.
That was partly due to the control they had over certain groups of vampires within their families, but also due to their strength.
However, that limit was not there today; Luzen could do as he wished as he went to test his strength.
Edvard then placed his hand by his side, and blood aura started to condense into his hand and continued to cover his entire arm.
"You're wrong!" Edvard said. "I'm not a leader…I'm one of the Originals."
