My Werewolf System-Chapter 1356: The Howlers Saftey
Chapter 1356: The Howlers Saftey
Kai had been busy all afternoon, making countless calls. Watching him, Gary couldn’t help but feel a little bad. It always seemed like Kai was the one constantly thinking about the group, coming up with the best solutions.
Sure, Gary might have come to the same conclusions and had his own thoughts, but whenever he listened to Kai lay everything out, he was sure the man had thought things through from every angle. And Gary always ended up agreeing, it was the best option.
Maybe it was because Kai knew Gary didn’t want to be the aggressor. He didn’t want to attack Lupus, not even if there was a chance Lupus might attack them on the day of the full moon.
If they struck first, and Lupus wasn’t under Unzoku’s control after all… then what?
That damned Unzoku, Gary thought to himself. Just when things were starting to look up. Now, we all have to do everything we can, just in case that day comes.
“Alright, get your things, and bring whatever clothes you need. Xin, I can arrange for someone to pick up your things from your home if you’d like,” Kai announced.
Xin turned to Gary, confused.
“I don’t understand what’s going on?”
“We’re going with your idea,” Kai replied.
When the three of them came out of their rooms, they were carrying suitcases. Xin, still unsure of what was happening, hadn’t packed anything from her own place just yet.
As they stepped outside, they saw a sleek black and gold minibus waiting for them, with Park standing at the front.
And they weren’t alone, other members of the Howlers were already inside.
“Place your things in the back and get in!” Park shouted.
Doing as instructed, they climbed aboard the minibus. Once inside, they noticed that several key members of the Howlers were already seated. Even as Kai and Xin asked what was going on, no one seemed to have an answer.
They had simply been told to grab their things, enough to last a few days, and come along.
The van continued making several stops, picking up every key Howlers member who lived in Slough.
This included the strong members like Crawley and Kevin, as well as Vere and Vlad. Of course, Austin, Marie, and the rest were there too.
Finally, after some time, the van drove through a large gate, heading up a long driveway. As they turned a corner, a large manor came into view.
It was massive, boasting several wings and countless rooms, with large front and back gardens. There were football and tennis courts, and even an enormous swimming pool. Most of them had never seen a place like this before.
Not only that, but the entire manor looked brand new, as if it had never been used.
When the van came to a stop at the front entrance, they could see staff dressed in suits and maids standing by, ready to receive them.
“WHAT IS THIS?!” Innu shouted, throwing an arm around Kevin. The two had been catching up the entire ride, after being apart for so long.
“Has this always been here? Were you guys living the high life the second I left or what?!” Innu complained.
“No, we’ve never experienced anything like this,” Austin said, equally surprised.
Kai then stepped forward in front of everyone, turning to face them all.
“This, behind me, is Howlers Manor,” he began. “It was built as a special training facility for the Howlers, a place where we don’t have to lift a finger and can focus on resting and growing ourselves.”
“It was also designed as an escape from the world. With hatred for the Howlers growing more and more, I believed that there might come a day when we would be cast out, when the world would wish for us to disappear.”
“So I used our wealth to create this place. A sanctuary where, after everything is said and done, we can enjoy our lives in luxury.”
“All of the servants here have been guaranteed lifetime wages. They will always work at the manor, ensuring that everything is perfectly maintained and ready for us.”
“In the coming days, this will be our home. We will rest here and train as much as we can in the meantime,” Kai said.
Gary was surprised, but he understood exactly why this was being done, because of Unzoku. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
If Unzoku came after them again, at least this time they would all be together. If a fight broke out with everyone present, they would have a real shot at taking him down. It also served as an ideal training ground to prepare for the night of the full moon.
“Is there a research facility?” Tom asked, raising his hand.
“I copied everything from your lab so you can continue working here as well. It’s in the basement,” Kai replied.
“I don’t have a problem with that,” Tom nodded.
“Alright, everyone! Go ahead and select your rooms. And get ready, because as soon as you’re settled, we’re going to work hard!” Kai said, pointing behind him.
Some of the Howlers members practically sprinted toward the doors, eager to explore what awaited them inside the massive place.
Meanwhile, Gary couldn’t help but smile as he watched them all. These were the people who mattered most in his life.
I should invite Amy, White, and Mom here at some point, Gary thought. They’d love it too… but only after we’ve dealt with Unzoku.
Then a thought struck him.
“There’s one person I don’t see,” Gary asked. “What about Blake?”
“I did ask him,” Kai replied. “But he said he didn’t want to join us.”
“For now, just focus on what we can do. And I suggest you start learning how to use that weapon of yours as well,” Kai added.
