My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 472: Continent’s Restoration
Chapter 472: Continent’s Restoration
A few days after the end of the demon war, hundreds of workers from all over the world arrived at the Lost Continent. Crafters, blacksmiths, merchants, tailors, and even chefs visited the place through the magic quartz in their cities.
Everyone looked fired up to start helping with the restoration of the continent, and we had to split our workforce into different areas where their expertise would shine more.
Since we had to wait for days for the workers to arrive, Melina and I ended up building a small port town on the southern side of the continent. However, we needed the opinion of fishermen and seamen to find the best spot to build a harbor.
In the center of the continent, near G’Henna’s tower, we began the construction of what would become the capital in the future, and since it was the first city where good demons would appear, we wanted it to be as beautiful as it could.
There were certain areas that were still covered in dead marine life from all the time the continent spent underwater, so we had to clear those areas and use nature magic to restore the soil, or it would’ve been difficult to grow any crops on it.
Even so, we found a small region that seemed too beautiful to destroy.
It was located north of the capital, and the area’s black soil was entirely covered in a thick layer of coral colored in different shades of pink and blue. At night, the grooves in the coral would glow thanks to the reflection of the moon, so we ended up naming the place the "Glowcoral Field."
One day, while everyone was hard at work, I received a voice message from Jackson asking me to come to the tower as quickly as possible.
I got a little worried at first, so I rushed all the way there, hoping that nothing wrong had happened to the portal.
To my surprise, Jackson wanted to introduce me to a couple of demons who had just arrived from hell using the green portal.
The two demons—a woman and a small child—were in their hybrid forms, which seemed to be the preferred look of all demons who stayed in our world.
Jackson explained that they were mother and son, and the couple explained how they got there through the portal after another evil demon forced them to go through it.
Apparently, when the portal on hell’s side became green, many demons believed that they would be able to use it. However, any demon who hadn’t developed emotions and empathy couldn’t even get close to the vortex.
When the demons started trying to send others through it to test the limits of the green portal, they eventually grabbed the mother and child and forced them to use it.
The two poor demons believed that they were being sent to fight a war in another world, so they arrived utterly scared and instantly begged for their lives to be spared.
Thankfully, Jackson and Karla were guarding the portal room at the time, so they were able to calm them down and explain the situation.
After the demon woman cried tears of joy, we registered their names and gave them a home in the capital, which was still being built.
Still, their arrival made us aware of a problem that I didn’t expect, and that was the fact that demons in hell still believed that their king was alive and fighting a war.
In their desperation to try to use the green portal, the stronger demons began forcing the weaker ones with threats. Thus, many of the ’good’ demons were hiding away, believing that using the portal would be their doom.
I would’ve used the portal to go to hell myself and put all those stupid evil demons in their place, but anyone who wasn’t a demon couldn’t use it.
"We’ll go!" Nessa and Jackson said aloud.
"Are you guys sure about that?" I asked, knowing that the two of them never wanted to take another step in hell.
Nevertheless, they confidently nodded and explained that they would be something like ambassadors, where they would spread the word that the portal could only be used by demons who had evolved and developed emotions.
The two of them would also have to clear the area around the portal in hell to give the evolved demons safe passage to it, but I wasn’t too worried about that since I knew how strong they were.
While Jackson and Nessa ventured into the portal, Melina and I traveled to different areas to restore the soil so that citizens could farm their own crops. As we diligently used our nature magic, Melina told me the events that happened while I was dead.
"Wow... So, you just nuked Agares and his minions?" I asked, a bit shocked that my wife even thought of a spell like that.
Melina explained that, after regaining all her knowledge from our past life, she thought of the possibility of detonating an atomic bomb with magic by imagining herself splitting the atoms.
"I never had the guts to test it out since, you know... It’s an atomic bomb. But I was so angry at that time that I didn’t care about anything and just went for it," Melina explained, seemingly embarrassed.
"What about the aftermath, though? Is there radiation or something!?" I pondered aloud.
Still, Melina believed there shouldn’t have been any radiation from her spell, as she didn’t imagine herself using any radioactive substances or minerals. However, she wasn’t entirely sure about her claims, so we decided to go to the area of the blast and check it out. fгeewebnovёl.com
To our surprise, the ground where the magic atomic bomb detonated looked as white as marble—a circumference of at least five kilometers that sparkled with the sunlight.
We concluded that since Melina used magic as the "base" material for her atomic bomb, her MP had seeped into the ground and utterly changed its appearance.
Moreover, I could feel the soil oozing with magic, so we decided to turn that area into another farming district, knowing that all of Melina’s energy would help the crops grow quicker and healthier.
