Chapter 137: Chapter 131: The Truth Within Reach

Indie Lowell’s eyes were red-rimmed as she looked at a childhood photo of her son, her words harsh. "Aiden Vance, from the day you agreed to let your sister’s child be adopted by me, I’ve wanted to divorce you..."

That gaze, resolute yet tinged with despair, tugged at Jean Quincy’s heartstrings, and she felt a sting in her nose.

Although she had forcefully brought them here, she hadn’t pressed them for Titus Miles’s whereabouts. Instead, she had treated them to good food and drinks, showing them her son’s childhood photos and toys as she told them stories about his past.

The look of longing on her face was heartbreaking to see.

She was just another poor mother who had lost her child.

After hanging up the phone, Indie Lowell finally broke down and began to sob, a stark contrast to her tough demeanor from moments before. Her trembling body radiated heartbreak and despair.

The three of them were at a loss for what to do.

Jean Quincy leaned closer to Zeke Quincy and whispered, "Brother, should we tell her something about Tiger?"

Zeke Quincy shook his head. "Morgan said not to."

"But she’s just so miserable. Why don’t you ask Morgan again?"

Zeke Quincy reluctantly nodded, took out his phone, and sent a message to Alvin Morgan.

A moment later, Alvin Morgan called.

"Give her the phone!"

Zeke Quincy immediately walked over and pressed the phone into the hands of the woman, who was sobbing her heart out. "It’s a call from Morgan..."

Indie Lowell wiped her eyes and said in a hoarse voice, "Young Lord Morgan..."

The three of them watched her expression carefully, afraid Alvin Morgan might say something to upset her. A moment later, Indie Lowell suddenly stood up and started looking for a pen and paper. She found a pen in the coffee table and, cradling the phone between her neck and shoulder, quickly began writing something on her hand.

The light in her eyes grew brighter and brighter. After hanging up, she actually laughed, thanked them, and personally escorted them back to their hotel.

The three of them were completely dumbfounded, having no idea what Alvin Morgan had said to her. Indie Lowell was like a different person, radiating joy from the inside out.

After seeing the three of them off, Indie Lowell immediately drove to an ordinary martial arts gym.

A circle of black cars from The Martial Affairs Bureau surrounded the entrance.

Indie Lowell was led into the martial arts gym and saw Alvin Morgan in a small loft.

She asked happily, "Young Lord Morgan, are you really going to tell me about my son?"

Without looking up from a spot on the wall, Alvin Morgan asked coolly, "What do you know about this martial arts gym?"

Indie Lowell was taken aback. "This is the Vance Family’s martial arts gym... Does this have anything to do with my son?"

Alvin Morgan picked up a child’s shoe from a corner and said to Indie Lowell, "Your son might have been brought here after he was kidnapped."

"Impossible. This gym was opened by one of my husband’s most trusted men..." Indie Lowell shook her head in disbelief, her fingers gripping her purse strap tightly.

But Alvin Morgan continued, "In this gym, we found many children’s toys, clothes, and shoes. We also saw a special symbol here. It’s the symbol of The Shadow Organization..."

"H-How could that be?" Indie Lowell’s face went pale, and she unconsciously took two steps back.

Hugh Monroe, standing to the side, added, "Mrs. Vance, I’m very sorry. I’ve reviewed the case file for Young Master Vance’s disappearance. We were never able to find a place where a child could be hidden long-term without being discovered. But now, it seems this was the most likely place where your son was hidden."

Indie Lowell’s body trembled uncontrollably. Staring at this incredibly familiar place, her lips quivered as she said, "You... you mean, my son... he might have been hidden here all those years ago, right?"

Hugh Monroe nodded. Indie Lowell’s legs gave out, and she slumped against the wall.

"Mrs. Vance... Mrs. Vance..."

Thirty thousand kilometers high in the sky, Aurora Sinclair listened to the sound of crying coming from Alvin Morgan’s end of the line. She glanced at Leigh Miles and Titus Miles not far away, her lips tightening.

Past memories resurfaced...

One night, her master, who had been missing for half a month, returned to the mountain, covered in blood and carrying Leigh Miles and Titus Miles.

They were burning up, wearing identical blue-and-white striped clothes with letters embroidered on them.

Leigh’s was L, and Titus’s was H.

While undressing them for a medicinal bath, she saw that Leigh Miles’s body was covered in dense clusters of needle marks. The skin around them was dark with pooled blood, as if from medical treatments at a hospital.

Later, her master went out again, but every time he returned, he would be carrying another child. However, all of those children passed away the next day.

Her master had her bury those children in a small ravine behind the mountain and erect a blank headstone for them.

Compared to the children who came later, Leigh Miles and Titus Miles had an incredibly tenacious Life Force. Leigh was the first to wake up two months later, but she had lost all her memories. She only remembered having a younger brother, and so Titus Miles became her real brother.

Titus Miles woke up three months later, but there was something wrong with his mind. Because of this, Leigh Miles cried a great deal, saying that she hadn’t taken good care of her younger brother.

Later, their master had Apothecary Warner find a way to erase all marks of their past from their bodies.

And so, the black mole on Titus Miles’s arm and the birthmark on Leigh Miles’s leg both disappeared.

Her master told her not to tell anyone what had happened to them, to keep this matter buried in her heart forever.

She did as he said. Even when Morgan asked her, she didn’t tell him that Titus Miles once had a small black mole on his arm.

Noticing Aurora Sinclair’s distant gaze, Jared Miles asked with concern, "What’s wrong, Junior Sister?"

Aurora Sinclair shook her head. "When is Master coming back?"

"Missing Master?"

"Mhm, there’s something I want to ask him."

Jared Miles reached out and ruffled her hair. "We’ll see him once we get off the plane."

A man sitting in a coffee shop inside the airport rubbed his itchy nose and muttered, "Who’s thinking of me now? Could it be Flora?"

Just as he was thinking this, his phone suddenly buzzed. The man picked it up, and his expression changed instantly.

He hastily asked the waiter for a piece of paper, wrote a line on it, and then left.

When Jared Miles led them to the coffee shop, all they found was the message Master Aerion had left. Jared was so furious his nose was practically twisted out of joint.

"My dear disciples, your Master had to leave early on urgent business. Let’s meet up next time!"

"Huh? Master ran off again?" Leigh Miles pouted.

Jared Miles said through gritted teeth, "We’re going back to Sunstone..."

A man sitting on a high-speed train glanced at the words "Next Stop: Syland City," his expression grim.

Outside the small loft of the martial arts gym, Indie Lowell sat on the steps in a daze, as if her soul had left her. In her hand, she clutched a battered digital watch, half of it corroded away.

It was the one she had bought for her son all those years ago, but now it was a relic.

"Mrs. Vance, please come with me," Dean Morgan said softly, walking up to her.

Indie Lowell looked at him blankly and didn’t say a word.

Dean Morgan sighed and lowered his voice. "Actually, your son isn’t dead..."

"..." Indie Lowell just stared at him blankly, as if processing his words.

Dean Morgan handed her a neatly folded piece of paper and added a reminder, "The Young Lord said that for safety’s sake, only you can know the results! As for the rest of the Vance Family, he doesn’t trust them..."

Indie Lowell finally reacted. She looked down at the paper in her hand, carefully unfolded it, and after just one glance, she dropped to her knees with a thud.

"Please thank Young Lord Morgan for me!"

With an exertion of force, the paper in her hand was obliterated by her Power, turning to dust that scattered on the ground and mixed with the soil.

Dean Morgan looked on, his expression one of solemn respect.

’This woman is stronger than me!’
