My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 153 - 147: The Sinclair Family’s Vixen
In the shade of the leaves, Aurora Sinclair shook her head, a lollipop stick between her teeth.
The boys’ eyes instantly lit up. Danny Archer was the first to ask, "At the Martial Affairs Bureau, was the guy holding your hand your brother?"
Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment, then nodded.
Danny Archer was thrilled. He felt like his heart, which had been shattered to pieces, had just been glued back together with superglue.
Just as he was about to ask another question, Sean Russell suddenly shouted for them to assemble.
Everyone quickly formed two lines. Arranged by height, Aurora Sinclair ended up at the back of the second row.
Sean Russell led them to the main training ground, where many other units had already gathered.
About twenty minutes later, the base commander stepped onto the main platform to announce the rules for the next day’s holographic survival simulation competition.
The survival competition would be class-based. Each class had to select a captain to lead their students in completing various random tasks within a simulated environment in a limited amount of time. Completing tasks would earn corresponding points, and the class with the highest score at the end would be the winner.
Since the number of holographic training pods at the base was limited, the chosen captains would also have to draw lots to determine their class’s competition slot.
The boys from the archaeology department all turned to look at Aurora Sinclair. As the only girl in their class, her strength was undeniably the greatest.
Seth Sterling directly proposed making Aurora Sinclair the captain, and the other boys seconded the motion.
The class favorite had to be the leader!
And so, under the gazes of the entire freshman class, Aurora Sinclair, the sole female captain, followed Sean Russell onto the platform.
Her cap was pulled down low, and her training uniform was a bit oversized, obscuring her eyes. One could only tell she was likely a beauty from her delicate, pale chin.
The base commander even chuckled and teased, "This must be our only female captain, right? What’s your name?"
Aurora Sinclair took a step forward. "Sir, my name is Aurora Sinclair."
The crowd below was stunned. Wasn’t Aurora Sinclair the top scorer with a perfect score on this year’s Kingsford college entrance exam?
The boys’ eyes lit up. They had heard that the top scorer was a real beauty, but they wondered if she was as pretty as the newly crowned campus belle, Eve Lowell.
Eve Lowell was the daughter of the Core Lineage of Kingsford’s Lowell Family and was Ethan Lowell’s cousin. With her high aptitude for Martial Arts and her strength at the Third Rank of a martial master, she was deeply favored by Master Lowell.
"Eve, that’s the vixen from the Sinclair Family who seduced the Young Master of the Morgan Family and ruined her own cousin’s reputation," a girl from a minor family friendly with Eve Lowell whispered as a reminder.
But Eve Lowell’s expression had already darkened. She knew exactly who Aurora Sinclair was. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
She sent a young lady of their Lowell Family to prison and seduced her Young Master Morgan.
’I was wondering how I’d get my revenge, and now she’s delivered herself right to my doorstep!’
"Later, have our captain switch his lot for the same color as hers. I want to meet this female captain."

「Early the next morning.」
The archaeology students were taken directly to the base’s holographic simulation training room by Sean Russell.
The training room was enormous, filled with rows of devices that resembled space pods.
Their exteriors were semi-transparent, revealing the special recliners and helmets inside.
After entering the room, Aurora Sinclair suddenly felt a hostile gaze. She turned her head, but only saw a group of students from another department.
Eve Lowell, pulling her gaze back, was startled.
Sean Russell had them stand in order next to their respective training pods and ordered them to get inside, put on the headsets, gauntlets, and anklets according to the instruction manual within.
After all the equipment was checked, the base commander activated the entire system.
The doors of all the training pods slowly sealed shut, and a green light turned on.
Sean Russell and a few other instructors hurried into the adjacent room.
Here, a massive screen was divided into 500 smaller screens, each displaying a student’s point of view and various physical stats.
Meanwhile, the darkness in front of Aurora Sinclair lasted for a minute before suddenly brightening. The sight that met her eyes was a dilapidated old city street. The roads were cratered, and the buildings looked like they had been destroyed by weapons—some had collapsed into rubble, while others were teetering on the verge of collapse.
She looked around curiously and found herself standing in the middle of a street in this old district, as if she had been transported to another world.
Then, one by one, familiar faces appeared beside her—Seth Sterling, Danny Archer, and the others. The only difference was that everyone’s clothes had changed into standard combat uniforms with their individual numbers on them.
"Whoa! This is so cool! The scenery is incredibly realistic. Not even a 5D experience feels this real." Seth Sterling looked around, exclaiming in amazement, and even reached out to touch Danny Archer.
"What are you doing?"
"Just checking if you’re the real Beau."
"Duh! What other Beau is there? The one from the TV commercial?" Danny Archer rolled his eyes at him.
Seth Sterling’s eyes grew brighter and brighter. "Why does it feel like we’ve time-traveled or something?"
"This is the holographic simulation system developed by the Morgan Group. It allows a person’s consciousness to enter a virtual world. I heard it’s currently only used for soldier training at the base; there’s nothing like it on the market yet," a boy said with considerable pride.
His dad was an employee in the Morgan Group’s research and development department and knew a lot about Morgan Technologies products.
"Huh? Is it raining? Damn, this is way too real!"
"This way..."
Everyone quickly ran toward a dilapidated house not far away.
"This damp feeling is really uncomfortable," Seth Sterling said, letting out several sneezes in a row.
Just then, a system voice suddenly sounded in their ears.
"Attention, all combatants! The start time is in 10 seconds. 10, 9, 8..."
"Get out of here."
For some unknown reason, Aurora Sinclair suddenly bolted outside. Danny Archer and Seth Sterling exchanged a look and chose to follow right behind her.
When the other boys saw them run out into the rain, they followed suit, even though they didn’t know why.
The moment the last boy ran out, the house they had been using for shelter collapsed with a thunderous ROAR.
The entire old district began to shake as if in an earthquake. Remaining ruined walls crumbled further, sending dust flying. The RUMBLE of falling debris terrified everyone, and they dropped to the ground, pale and too scared to move.
The shock was so real that they all wondered if they had actually been transported to an earthquake zone.
Suddenly, the sound of dense cannon fire erupted from a distance. With every BOOM, their position shook as if in an earthquake.
"We have to get out of this hellhole!" Danny Archer yelled.
Aurora Sinclair focused, sensing the direction of the cannon fire, and waved to the others. "This way..."
Like fugitives in a desperate escape, everyone followed Aurora Sinclair, fleeing in one direction. When Seth Sterling happened to glance back, he saw a fissure splitting the ground behind them, with rubble from both sides continuously sinking into it.
Terrified, he screamed wildly, "Run! The ground is collapsing behind us—!"
The danger forced them all to run for their lives, giving it everything they had.
After an unknown amount of time, the system’s voice suddenly sounded in their ears.
"Congratulations, combatants, for passing the Initial Rank physical fitness test. Reward: one climbing rope."
The sensation of the earth shaking violently vanished abruptly. Exhausted, the boys from the archaeology department all collapsed to the ground.
"What the hell was that?" one of the boys cursed. He looked back and saw that the fissure that had been chasing them had stopped two meters away. The old district from before was nowhere in sight.
They were now standing in a wasteland, with a dense mountain forest ahead of them.
Danny Archer pounded his cramping calf, panting as he replied, "Survival in the wild, I guess! Damn it, that was more intense than any game."
"If this is for physical training, couldn’t we just do it outside? Why did they have to do it like this? It scared the shit out of me."
Sean Russell watched the stats of his class’s students, the corners of his mouth gradually turning up.
’Not bad,’ he thought. ’Not a single one was eliminated in the first stage.’
"This year’s female students at Arcadian University still have poor Constitution. More than half of them were eliminated in the first stage alone." The instructor sitting next to Sean Russell sighed, as most of the screens representing the girls in his class had gone dark.
"Instructor Russell, how’s that female captain in your class doing?"
Sean Russell pointed smugly at a certain screen. "Not bad. Her physical fitness is excellent."
The other instructor followed his finger, and his jaw nearly dropped. It took him a moment to find his voice.
"Instructor Russell, is her machine broken? How can her stats fluctuate so little after that escape?"
"What’s so special about that? My class has one too," an instructor on the other side said, pointing smugly at Eve Lowell’s screen.
"The Lowell Family is one thing—they’re a Martial Arts family. But this girl is from the Sinclair Family, isn’t she?"
