My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 75 - 71: Take Care of Yourselves
All eyes turned to the girl sitting on the floor.
Mona Lowell’s expression froze, and she cautiously raised her hand.
A police officer looked her up and down, then said in a deep voice, "You’re coming with us, too!"
At his words, everyone in the room’s expression changed. Even Mandy Warren, who was still making a scene, stopped and looked at her in confusion.
Mona Lowell was stunned. A bad feeling welled up inside her as she asked fearfully, "Wh... why?"
"Routine questioning," the officer said flatly.
Mona Lowell suddenly became agitated. Trembling, she pointed at Aurora Sinclair and said, "You must have made a mistake! She was the one who ordered..."
But she cut herself off halfway, as if she suddenly realized something. Swallowing the rest of her words, she shook her head and frantically explained, "No... it wasn’t..."
The expressions on the other people’s faces changed once again, and they stared at her with strange looks.
The officer only glanced briefly at Aurora Sinclair, still not elaborating. "We won’t frame an innocent person, nor will we let a guilty one go free. For now, please come with us."
Two officers quickly moved forward, each taking one of her arms and helping her to her feet.
"No... Why are you arresting me? You’ve made a mistake! It was Aurora Sinclair who hired someone to hurt people! Mandy Warren can testify..." But no one listened to what she was saying.
Under the complicated gazes of the crowd, she was taken away by the police along with Mandy Warren.
Everyone turned to look at Ethan Lowell, who had been silent the whole time. His face was now incredibly grim. He slung his school uniform jacket over his shoulder and strode toward the door.
"Hey, where are you going?" Leon Barron grabbed his arm.
Ethan Lowell’s tone was hostile. "The police station."
"Stay out of this—"
"She’s a Lowell!" Ethan Lowell struggled hard, but he couldn’t break free from Leon Barron’s grip.
A faint stream of energy flowed from where their hands were clasped into his body.
"Everyone, straighten your desks and take your seats!" Leon Barron commanded methodically, his grip not loosening in the slightest.
Ethan Lowell stopped all movement, stunned.
’I always thought Leon Barron was just a regular teacher with low Combat Power. I never expected him to be this strong. And there’s some kind of strange energy that’s making my whole arm go numb.’
"Ethan Lowell, go back to your seat!"
Leon Barron let go, and Ethan Lowell felt the pressure on his arm suddenly disappear. The familiar sense of control returned to his limb.
He shook his arm, glanced at Leon Barron with a frown, and finally walked obediently back to his seat.
Leon Barron placed both hands on the lectern, looked around at the students below, and pondered for a moment.
"I was originally going to say this tomorrow as a farewell message, but as things stand, tomorrow’s ceremony might be canceled..."
Leon Barron picked up a piece of chalk and turned to write two lines of large, flourishing characters on the blackboard.
"In this lifetime, we were fortunate to meet. I hope you all take care of yourselves."
Though written in chalk, the words carried a sense of sorrowful indignation.
He turned back around, tossed the chalk into its box, and said heavily, "Take a good look at the classmates around you. It’s possible that after you leave the exam hall, they will become people who exist only in your memories for the rest of your life."
Leon Barron’s voice was tight, but he didn’t stop. "The world is a big place, and we are just specks in a vast crowd. If not for this rare fate, we would never have gathered together in this lifetime. What happened tonight must have frightened you. It was my failure as a teacher to protect you, and for that, I apologize!"
Leon Barron took two steps to the side. Unlike his usual lazy demeanor, he was completely serious as he gave a deep bow to everyone.
After a moment of silence, faint sobs broke out from the students. Some of the girls covered their mouths and began to cry, as if they were finally processing everything.
"To be honest, over these past three years, I haven’t done nearly enough compared to the other teachers. A large part of the responsibility for why Mandy Warren turned out this way lies with me. I failed to guide and counsel her properly..."
"Mr. Barron, how can you be blamed for that? It was clearly her own choice to go down that path!" a student spoke up for him, but Leon Barron just shook his head.
"I hope all of you will take this as a lesson. Think thrice before you act, and don’t gamble away your youth. I hope you all take care on your future paths! Class dismissed—"
After speaking, he scanned the students in the class one last time before leaving the classroom with a solemn expression.
The students of Class 6 were stunned for a long while before snapping out of it. "Mr. Barron... what does that mean? He’s not leaving, is he?"
"It’s hard to say. After such a major incident, the school will definitely hold someone accountable."
"So, will Mr. Barron get fired by the school?"
"No way... Come on, let’s go check..."
Luna Jennings gently tugged on Aurora Sinclair’s sleeve and leaned in to ask, "Should we go see Mr. Barron?"
Aurora Sinclair nodded.
The two followed the main group toward the teachers’ office. Along the way, they ran into many students from other classes asking them about Mandy Warren and Mona Lowell.
Luna Jennings gave a few perfunctory replies before pulling Aurora Sinclair into a run toward the office.
Before they even reached the office, they heard the voice of Class 6’s monitor from inside: "Mr. Barron, this isn’t your fault! We’ll go talk to the principal..."
"Nonsense—this isn’t something for you to get involved in. It’s already very late, everyone should go home now!"
Luna Jennings and Aurora Sinclair exchanged a look and quickly entered the office.
Inside, Leon Barron was surrounded by the students of Class 6. The class monitor wanted to lead everyone to find the principal, but Leon had grabbed his arm.
For a moment, they were at a stalemate.
Just then, the stern-faced Dean of Students, Crystal Warner, poked her head in from outside.
"Mr. Barron, the principal has called a meeting for everyone. Why are you still here?"
"I’m on my way..."
Leon Barron picked up a notebook, offered a few more words of comfort to the students, and hurried out of the office. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
The Class 6 students were like his shadows, refusing to leave no matter what he said. They followed him all the way from the office to the conference room, only stopping when they saw Principal Lawson and his assistant.
Principal Lawson glanced at Aurora Sinclair in the crowd, his expression relatively gentle. He offered a few words of comfort to the Class 6 students before having his assistant close the conference room door.

「Meanwhile.」
Beta Morgan hurried into Chester Greene’s office, stood before the desk, and reported respectfully, "Sir, all the evidence has been submitted."
"What about the Lowell Family?"
"Mona Lowell’s father has rushed over."
Beta Morgan’s face was grave, a hint of worry in his eyes.
’Sir’s intervention in Mandy Warren’s case has already drawn the attention of several families to Kingsford No. 1 High School.’
’Although we’ve done our best to conceal information about Aurora Sinclair, it’s inevitable that someone with ulterior motives will discover the connection between you and her. When that happens, she could very well become a weakness for hostile forces to exploit.’
"Sir, we can’t get involved in this any further."
But Alvin Morgan’s face was calm, completely unconcerned about the consequences. His eyes were fixed on the computer on his desk.
A chilling coldness emanated from his deep, almond-shaped eyes; he was clearly on the verge of fury.
On the screen was a video from the Martial Affairs Bureau, showing the interrogation of the assailant who had beaten Mandy Warren’s father.
The contents of the assailant’s confession made Beta Morgan’s expression turn grim.
Alvin Morgan clicked the mouse and said coldly, "Send the recording and the video to the Lowell Family Head."
"Sir..."
Alvin Morgan’s gaze was terrifyingly cold. Beta Morgan immediately fell silent, accepted the order, and left.
’According to the assailant’s confession, he had received an order from the Lowell Family to break Mandy Warren’s father’s legs and frame the Sinclair Family’s heiress for it.’
’In other words, if Sir hadn’t suspected from the beginning that someone else was pulling the strings behind Mandy Warren and ordered me to keep an eye on her family, the blame for this incident would have fallen squarely on Aurora Sinclair.’
’Then, with a bit of propaganda from the Lowell Family, the reputations of the Sinclair Family and Aurora Sinclair would have been completely ruined in Kingsford.’
’The intentions of the person behind this are truly sinister.’

The sky outside the window was starless, as dark as the moments before a storm.
Alvin Morgan stood at the window, gazing in the direction of Kingsford No. 1 High School.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed, illuminating his face.
His handsome face was taut and devoid of expression. The usual laziness in his eyes was gone, replaced by a chilling gaze that held a suppressed terror, enough to make one tremble.
BZZZT BZZZT BZZZT—
The phone on the desk suddenly shattered the oppressive atmosphere in the room.
Alvin Morgan turned to see it was a call from Aurora Sinclair.
He immediately pressed the answer key, and Aurora Sinclair’s slightly hesitant voice came through the phone.
"Morgan, can you help me look someone up?"
"Who are you looking for?" Alvin Morgan’s voice wasn’t as gentle as usual, but he tried to suppress the strangeness in his tone.
Aurora, on the other end of the line, paused for a moment before asking softly, "Is this a bad time?"
"No, my throat’s just a little scratchy, *cough cough cough*... It’s better now. Who do you want to look up?"
"Mandy Warren’s father."
Alvin Morgan’s gaze darkened, and he fell silent for a moment.
"Is that possible?" Aurora Sinclair asked again.
Alvin Morgan pressed his eyelids. When he opened them again, the black of his pupils had lightened slightly. "Don’t you hate her?"
"Master said that anger and jealousy are forbidden. They are major taboos in cultivation and will damage one’s progress..."
Alvin Morgan’s eyes flickered, and his fingers tightened around the phone. "He’s in the hospital. It’s nothing serious. I’ll send someone to make sure he’s healed."
"My junior sister could..."
"Aurora, your junior sister’s abilities, like your handicrafts, shouldn’t be revealed to others so easily. It will cause trouble..."
The girl on the phone suddenly fell silent. Alvin Morgan’s heart began to pound, and his voice softened again. "Aurora, don’t worry about the Warrens’ situation. I’ll take care of everything."
A soft "Mm" finally came from the phone.
After hanging up, Alvin Morgan pinched the bridge of his nose and called out, "Beta Morgan—"
"Sir, I’m here."
"Find a good lawyer for Mandy Warren."
"Huh?"
Beta Morgan thought he had misheard, but one look at his master’s eyes and he immediately complied.

At the police station, Mona Lowell’s father had assumed that dropping the name of the Lowell Family of Kingsford would get his daughter released immediately, but after waiting and waiting, he still hadn’t seen any of the station’s leadership.
From the moment he walked in, only a single investigating officer had been dealing with him, and in a very lukewarm manner at that.
Mr. Lowell could no longer sit still. He demanded, "Why was my daughter arrested? What exactly happened to her?"
The officer glanced up at him and replied, "She’s still being questioned. You’ll know when it’s over."
Hearing this, Mr. Lowell slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet. "Questioned? Do you have any idea who we are?"
"I do. Your daughter has already mentioned it several times," the officer said flatly, his expression still perfectly calm.
Mr. Lowell was speechless with rage. He pulled out his phone and dialed the number for the main family’s estate.
As it rang, he threatened, "You just wait!"
