My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 83 - 78: Are These Moves Going to Break the Game?
Beta Morgan always prided himself on his maturity when gaming and didn’t like to squabble with the younger players, but today’s comments were starting to piss him off.
He immediately fired back in the World Channel.
[Madam Whitlock] You call me a scammer just because I haven’t logged on for two days? Isn’t that a bit much?
[Autumn] Who knows if you just skipped town? Besides, you’re the one who took the herbs and didn’t pay. What are you doing here now, playing the victim?
Beta Morgan scoffed at her words, a laugh escaping him out of sheer anger.
Dean Morgan, who was beside him, glanced at him a few times before silently scooting a little farther away.
Although Beta Morgan had the best temper of the Morgan brothers, when he truly lost it, his wrath was no less terrifying than that of their family’s patriarch.
[Madam Whitlock] Hah... If you think I’m a scammer, then go ahead and report me!
Autumn felt a pang of guilt. She had already received whispers from those crafters telling her not to cause a scene in the World Channel, but she didn’t want to back down now and lose face. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
[Autumn] Fine, I’ll report you!
And then she actually reported Madam Whitlock’s account.
Unexpectedly, in less than 30 seconds, a reply from a GM appeared in the World Channel:
[GM] Player Autumn’s report has failed. Player Madam Whitlock is under system protection. We advise all players to use the report function with discretion!
Both the speed of the response and its content made the jaws of every player watching the drama drop.
Even several of the top 10 god-tier players in District Twelve started appearing in the World Channel.
No. 3 [I Am The War God] Holy shit! We’ve got a live one! An old-school god-tier player in the flesh! Please, accept this humble one’s bow!
No. 2 [Soren] Madam Whitlock, may I ask which god-tier player from District One you are? (Worship)
No. 5 [EyeoftheWind] My god, I kneel before you! Welcome to District Twelve. I’m the guild master of Genesis Guild. We would be honored if you would grace our guild with your presence and guidance.
Some newer players didn’t understand the connection to old-school god-tier players and piped up to ask.
[Lilitle Box Sis] Experts, experts, please enlighten me! Why is Madam Whitlock under system protection?
No. 5 [EyeoftheWind] An account that’s under system protection usually means the player has been playing Battle for Glory for over 10 years and has a Game Credit Score of over 5000.
No. 3 [I Am The War God] A player with over 10 years of experience can only be one of those legendary old-school gods from District One.
No. 2 [Soren] Do I even need to explain who the old-school gods are? Most of the strategy guides you all read were written by them. The owners and coaches of several of the country’s most famous pro teams are from that group, too.
...
After the explanations from several of District Twelve’s god-tier players, the entire district went into an uproar.
The World Channel was flooded with messages from people begging to be taken as a disciple, asking to be carried, and pleading for guidance.
Guild masters from all the major guilds popped up to invite Madam Whitlock to join, a resounding slap in the face to those who had called her a scammer.

After reading through everything in the World Channel, Zeke Quincy’s expression soured. He immediately went to the guild channel to ask what was going on.
[Young Lord Shawn] What happened? Why was Madam Whitlock kicked from the guild? I went to great lengths to recruit that expert. Are you guys messing with me?
[Barron] (Crying profusely) Guild Master, you’re finally back! Mr. Whitlock was just offline for two days, and Autumn started spreading rumors in the chat that he was a scammer. She even threatened the vice-guild master with quitting.
[Sandstorm] It was my fault! I’ll go invite him back right now.
[Lorraine] Guild Master, Autumn only acted out because she heard the crafters complaining that Madam Whitlock hadn’t paid them for the herbs. It’s obviously all a misunderstanding.
[Warren The Big Bear] Lorraine, what are you trying to say? All I did was complain once that he hadn’t paid the final balance, and you all started labeling Madam Whitlock a scammer. I even whispered Autumn and told her not to say that, but she was relentless and even instigated other veteran members to threaten the vice-guild master with quitting.
[Snail Boy] Exactly. She was the one going on and on about how Madam Whitlock’s identity was unknown, how he was old and looked like a scammer. It’s not cool for you to be making excuses for her now. Or are you just afraid Madam Whitlock will steal your spotlight?
[Swaying Eve] Snail, why are you blurting out the cold, hard truth? Be careful, or the guild’s number one Healer might not heal you in the next dungeon.
Watching the channel fill with accusations against Autumn and herself, Lorraine Morrison was so furious she stood up, grabbed a nearby pack of cigarettes, and lit one.
A DING— sounded.
A system message popped up on the computer next to her.
[We regret to inform you that you have been kicked from the Apex Dominion Guild by Guild Master Young Lord Shawn!]
Seeing that her sister’s account had been kicked, Lorraine Morrison slammed the laptop beside her shut.
Autumn was her younger sister’s account. Her sister had gone back to their ancestral home to prepare for her college entrance exams, so she had been helping her play recently.
She took a harsh drag from her cigarette and stood by the window for a long time to cool down before finally returning to her desk.
Her fingers flew nimbly across the keyboard.
[Lorraine] Since you all think this is our fault, fine, I’ll quit! This guild isn’t the same simple guild it used to be. I wish you all the best!
[System] We regret to inform you that elite member Lorraine has chosen to leave Apex Dominion! May your future adventures be prosperous!]
The guild channel fell silent instantly.
After more than a minute, one or two players who were close with Lorraine finally spoke up.
[Mr. Newman] Weren’t you guys a little too harsh just now? No matter what, Lorraine is a veteran of our guild. Her contributions over the years are plain to see. Are you really going to crucify her over a single misunderstanding? Weren’t her initial intentions for the good of the guild?
[Warren The Big Bear] We didn’t even say much! It’s so hard to tell the truth these days! So they use our issue as an excuse to stir up trouble, and we’re not allowed to say anything? Aren’t they being a little too sensitive?
[Mr. Newman] She’s our guild’s number one Healer! Now that she’s gone, who’s going to heal you and cast buffs during raids and guild wars?
[Crystal Clear] Some people are just so star-struck. Lorraine was right, this guild is a mess now. There’s no place for the old-timers anymore. I’m quitting too. Let’s just go our separate ways.
[Godslayer] Heh... I came here because of her reputation. Since the main Healer is gone, I’m out too. Bye~
[Jett Lawson] Dungeons are going to be impossible now. I’m out too.
Within minutes, many of the high-level players who had joined because of Lorraine quit the guild. Their combat power ranked in the top 20 within the Apex Dominion Guild, and even across the entire district, their individual strength placed them in the top 200.
No one had expected Lorraine’s departure to be such a devastating blow to the guild.
Several of the guild’s elders and elites started to panic.
[Mr. Newman] Guild Master, hurry up and get Lorraine back!
[Mr. Mason] I’m trying to contact her, but she’s not responding. Young Master Shawn, you try!
[Mr. Know It All] I contacted a few of them. They all said they’ll come back if Lorraine comes back.
The guild channel fell silent again. No one replied, waiting for the Guild Master, Young Lord Shawn, to make a statement.
At a time like this, if the situation wasn’t handled properly, the guild’s morale would collapse. But from the moment he kicked Autumn to Lorraine quitting, and then the mass exodus of elite players, Young Lord Shawn hadn’t said a single word. It was as if he had gone AFK.
Just then, a series of system messages suddenly appeared—
[System] Congratulations to player Madam Whitlock for joining the Apex Dominion Guild.
[System] Congratulations to player Madam Whitlock on being promoted to an elite member.
[System] Congratulations to player Master Rory on being promoted to an elite member.
[System] Congratulations to the No. 1 ranked player, Mr. Thorne, for joining the Apex Dominion Guild.
[System] Congratulations to the No. 4 ranked player, Zephyr, for joining the Apex Dominion Guild.
[System] Congratulations to the No. 7 ranked player, BuddhaSays, for joining the Apex Dominion Guild.
[System] Congratulations to the No. 12 ranked player, Rippling Dreams, for joining the Apex Dominion Guild.
...
This string of system messages left the guild members so stunned they were speechless for a long time.
’Were these moves meant to break the game?’
First, an old-school god from District One shows up, and now the number one ranked player in the entire district joins?
It was as if the guild had suddenly claimed the entire District Twelve individual power rankings. Most of the top-ranked, guildless experts and god-tier players had joined.
[Barron] Damn! I’m not dreaming, am I? Can someone pinch me?
[Master Rory] Room 3451. You coming?
