My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s-Chapter 400 - 393 - The Polite Little Fatty
Chapter 400 -393: The Polite Little Fatty
“Brother Gu, isn’t it good-looking?” Chengcheng raised his chin in pride, “But the other kids usually start crying when they see it.”
Gu Ning reached out to ruffle Little Fatty’s chubby head. He guessed the child wasn’t scared because he grew up watching it. If it were some other kid, they’d be scared to tears.
So, the good kids are those who cry, the fearless ones like Chengcheng, who’ve been toughened up by his older sister from a young age, are the outliers.
When Gu Ning carried Chengcheng back outside, they saw the other men sitting upright and waiting. Having so many ‘uncles’ around made Chengcheng excited, and he immediately tried to wriggle free.
Gu Ning put him down; Chengcheng hobbled over with his chunky little legs, brimming with enthusiasm.
“Brother, water.”
Chengcheng picked up a cup from the table, and everyone hurried to take it to prevent him from spilling it or worse, getting scalded by hot water.
“Brother, have an apple.”
Little Fatty held an apple in his tiny hands and offered it to one of the men. He was so taken aback and impressed by the gesture, musing how adorable Little Fatty was. He was tempted to pinch his chubby little cheeks just to see if they were as soft and squishy as they looked.
“Come sit, Brother Gu,” Little Fatty pulled Gu Ning to sit down then darted off into his room to fetch his secret stash of snacks that he’d kept for a long time, stuffing them all into Gu Ning’s hands with a sense of seriousness to the task.
Zhang Xiangcao just came out and saw Chengcheng busily playing the part of host with the guests.
Little Fatty, a habitual hoarder, would normally never give his mom a single snack. But he’d been so well-behaved today, bringing out all the snacks he’d been hiding for a long time.
Gu Ning extended his hand to pat Little Fatty’s head. Chengcheng was thrilled by a bag full of snacks and toys that he’d been given, munching on snacks while playing with the toys, and even offering one to Gu Ning. If Ren Li had seen this, she would have cried bitter tears.
She had raised Little Fatty with much love and care, yet she had never received a single of these treasured snacks from him. Little Fatty was her flesh and blood, and he guarded his favorite food fiercely. Only Tang Yuxin could convince him to share his prizes, and now there was one more: this broad-shouldered man.
Soon after, Tang Zhinian came home. As soon as he saw the guests, he was exhilarated, and quickly asked Tang Zhijun to go shopping, all the men he knew were all lovers of martial arts. Fittingly, the Tang brothers both harboured similar dreams, but ended up as lifelong farmers. They were thrilled by the arrival of the guests, especially knowing from Tang Yuxin that Gu Ning ran a well-known security firm in the country, providing security services in Beijing alongside offering traditional martial arts training.
Tang Zhijun immediately dashed to his car. All attempts by Gu Ning and others to say something were futile.
“Chengcheng, come here,”
Tang Zhinian put on a stern face to discipline his son, “Do you think it’s nice to let people carry you? Have you considered your weight? What if you harm someone?”
“No,” Chengcheng clung to Gu Ning’s arm, “We’re skinny,” he tilted his chin up, playing the part of a proud and conceited model.
“Uncle Tang, it’s okay, he isn’t heavy.”
Gu Ning patted Chengcheng’s rear end, truthfully he didn’t consider the child heavy. For him, Little Fatty didn’t even weigh as much as his own backpack.
Chengcheng laughed, hugging Gu Ning’s neck tighter. He loved this ‘brother’; even though his sister called him ‘uncle’, he preferred to call him ‘brother’ because Gu Ning was older than him.
Inside the kitchen, Zhang Xiangcao was occupied with cooking, while outside, Tang Zhinian and Tang Zhijun were chatting with the guests. And even Little Chengcheng had joined. The Tang family’s three men were all present.
Tang Zhijun enjoyed discussing martial arts and quickly befriended the guests. They grew fond of him too, addressing him as Uncle Tang, which left Tang Zhinian all muddled up.
Although Tang Zhinian wasn’t as conversational as Tang Zhijun, he still had much to talk about with Gu Ning. Despite their minimal conversation, there was no uncomfortable silence. After about half an hour or so, Zhang Xiangcao finished making dinner. Everyone praised her culinary skills and savoured the meal — they polished off all the dishes, though it was partly out of courtesy. The young soldiers, quick and efficient, quickly cleared the table and tidied the kitchen. Their good manners and hands-on approach earned the Tang family’s appreciation.
After sitting for a while, the guests left. They tried to refuse when Tang Zhinian insisted on them taking home some farm-fresh fruits like apples. Eventually, the guests left with half a truckload of produce, which was fine because the Tang family grew enough to experience wastage, some even rotting. Chengcheng also gave a considerable amount of his snacks to Gu Ning as a parting gift.

“Goodbye, Brother Gu,” said Little Fatty, waving a small hand at Gu Ning. Tang Zhinian patted his son’s head. Yes, that was correct. His son should call Gu Ning ‘brother’, otherwise, if he, the father called Gu Ning ‘uncle’ and Little Fatty called him the same, wouldn’t that make the two of them peers?
Little Fatty smiled, his mouth opening up, a wide grin spreading on his face. He waved his baby hand more vigorously.
“Goodbye, Brother. Come and visit Chengcheng soon.”
When the SUV departed, Little Fatty clung to his father’s leg, apparently he would miss them.
“Daddy, will Brother Gu come to see Chengcheng again?”
“Yes,” Tang Zhinian caressed his son’s head, “As long as you eat your meals properly and don’t fuss about it, your brother will definitely come to see Chengcheng. He’ll even bring lots of gifts for you.”
“Ok,” Chengcheng nodded his little head. He was sure to eat all his meals well. He aspired to become like Gu Ning, powerful enough to fly and defeat the baddies, just like the characters on TV. The innocent Chengcheng didn’t yet know that his sister had already paved the way for him; when he gets older, he will have his pick of colleges in Beijing.
Tang Yuxin had already left for school. She had missed about two months’ worth of classes, so she needed to catch up. Luckily, the lessons she missed were relatively easy for her, which made the catch-up work less challenging.
