My Wife Is A Miracle Doctor In The 80s-Chapter 463 - 457: Turning-back Grass
463 Chapter 457: Turning-back Grass
She held this piece of paper above her head. Is this how the sun shines?
"Gu Ning, I want to strangle you."
She almost gritted her teeth as she said this. What happened to the promised sun, the promised warmth? She didn't want a painting or a fake sun made of paper.
Gu Ning had already washed and hung up the clothes outside. When he came back, he saw Qin Ziye standing at the entrance of the ward, as if he wanted to come in but dared not.
Gu Ning walked over and placed his hand on the doorknob.
He opened the door, with no intention of letting Qin Ziye in.
In the room, Tang Yuxin was still holding that paper cutout of the sun, examining it from all angles. She wanted to know if there were any secrets hidden in it, but to her disappointment, there were none.
Gu Ning put the basin down, dried his hands with a towel, then walked over and sat down. "He's outside. Did you see him?"
Tang Yuxin threw the paper sun aside and stared seriously at Gu Ning's face.
"Uncle Gu, is this how you treat your niece?"
"Huh?" Gu Ning was puzzled. What had he done?
"Didn't you say to steer clear of jerks? That guy is a jerk." Tang Yuxin placed her hands on her lap, expressing her thoughts earnestly.
"You shouldn't love or even see a jerk."
"What did he do?" Gu Ning tucked Tang Yuxin's hands under the quilt so she wouldn't feel cold.
Tang Yuxin leaned back against her pillow. She didn't really want to talk about this. As she was trying to forget it all, gossip about her and Qin Ziye had started.
She was unsociable and unreasonable.
But the jerk had turned into a love-sick fool, professing his love for her over and over again. "I love you, do you know how much I care? Can't you see, I'm here."
She clenched her hands underneath the covers.
Then she brought her hand out and cradled her cheek.
"He approached me only because I reminded him of someone else. So he got close to me and fooled me. I think he must have been nursing his wounds while laughing at me. 'Look at this fool. If she didn't resemble the woman I love, why would I like a country bumpkin?'"
"When I moved from Qing'an to Sea City, it was freezing cold. He said he would pick me up, but he never showed up. I waited for him at the train station from two in the afternoon until nine at night. Eventually, I had to drag my suitcase back to school by myself, where I ran into two kindly security guards."
She spoke while Gu Ning listened, without interrupting.
Tang Yuxin's voice continued. She picked up the artificial sun again. It was somehow warming.
"Later, I went to see him and found him with another woman. That was his true love. I was just a substitute. He told me to leave, beat me until I was bruised and bloody, yet I stayed there for a week, disregarding my own well-being, just to take care of his girlfriend who had contracted SARS."
"Then his grandfather accused me of seducing his grandson, saying I had no shame. My dad happened to be there, and he even cursed him, saying that I had been raised without a mother, that I knew nothing about decency."
"Yes," Tang Yuxin admitted. "I was born without my mother's guidance. My mother only kept me for the alimony from my dad. She tricked me away from my father, claiming that she wanted to take care of me. She made me do all the housework, so I was a free, money-bringing maid for her. When her daughter fell ill, she beat me until I was bruised and bloody and kicked me out of the house. I was only eight years old, wandering alone in the cold winter."
"Uncle Gu..." She raised her face, neither crying nor smiling. She had suffered too much. She couldn't get used to the pain or the torture, but she had grown accustomed to the unfairness and the compromise.
"Why do all the people in the world think it's okay to hurt others? Why do they always think they can make amends after they hurt someone?"
"Doesn't everyone have a temper? Doesn't everyone have grievances, right?"
Gu Ning put his hand on his neck. For a moment, it seemed that the sharp corner of the necklace was stabbing him. It was a bit painful.
He then stretched out his hand, which was as large as Tang Yuxin's face, and placed it on her hair, gently patting it.
"My hairstyle is ruined," Tang Yuxin held her head. She was really satisfied with her hairstyle today. Gu Ning could even braid her hair. He did it better than her. This man was so thoughtful, the only thing he couldn't do was embroidery.
Tang Yuxin liked this about Gu Ning the most. He understood her so well.
In fact, all she wanted to do was vent. She didn't need sympathy, especially verbal sympathy. She just wanted to find someone to confide in, to vent all her grievances and frustrations.
She didn't need anyone's pity or sympathy.
Her family was doing well now. They didn't need all that.
"Go to sleep," Gu Ning patted her head again. Then Tang Yuxin held her head again, "Uncle Gu, my life can end, my blood can flow, but my hairstyle can't be messed up."
Gu Ning's hand stopped mid-air, fighting the urge to strangle her neck.
Only after Tang Yuxin fell asleep did he open the door and leave. Standing at the door, he saw a figure resembling a pillar. If it wasn't Qin Ziye, who could it be?
"Uncle, I want to have a good talk with her." Qin Ziye had been standing there for a long time, but didn't dare to enter. Only when Gu Ning came out did he want to try.
"Uncle?" Gu Ning raised his eyebrows. "Who's your uncle?"
Qin Ziye was taken aback.
"You are her uncle."
"So you call me uncle too?" Gu Ning put his hand in his pocket. "Qin Ziye, stay away from her."
Qin Ziye's lips twitched with pain. "Blood is thicker than water."

"Aren't you married?" Gu Ning stood straight and tall. Compared to the somewhat frail Qin Ziye, the contrast wasn't between fresh meat and an old man, but between an effeminate man and a real man.
Gu Ning could now pick Qin Ziye up with one hand and throw him out.
"I'm divorced," This was the first time Qin Ziye felt that he had made a mistake and wanted to make amends. He thought he still had a chance. Didn't he?
"That's your business," Gu Ning turned around and walked away in big strides, leaving Qin Ziye alone, looking lost and dejected. He felt as if a heavy stone was pressing down on his heart, causing a suffocating pain.
Not long after, Gu Ning stood in front of Mr. Qin.
