My Wife is My Life!-Chapter 238
“Why not?”
Ji Qingqing rolled her eyes in her mind. “Mr. Lu, we’re on a vacation now. We’re not going to a meeting.”
Saying that she entered Lu Lixing’s room and looked through his cupboard. Apart from formal wear, he didn’t bring a single piece of casual clothing.
Besides, at home in the dressing room, she never once spotted a piece of casual-wear in his wardrobe. The whole closet only featured a row of neatly arranged dress shirts.
“Why don’t you take your jacket off?” Ji Qingqing suggested. She also got him to remove his tie and unbutton the first two buttons on his shirt and also roll his sleeves up. She wouldn’t call it too informal but instead, it had added a bit more casualness to his outfit. Either way, it looked a lot better than the ‘going to a meeting’ look that he had on just earlier.
Ji Qingqing was satisfied.
Lu Lixing was naturally intending to hold Ji Qingqing’s hand but he ended up getting dodged by Ji Qingqing.
She smiled widely and with a face full of seriousness, she said, “Mr. Lu, it’s the first day. It’ll be better if we don’t seem overly close to each other. I don’t want fans to think that I’m seducing you.”
As Ji Qingqing said that, she walked off.
Lu Lixing raised his eyebrows and followed her.
The resort villa was located close to the seaside and it had a huge private beach. However, given this season and timing, the visitors that came to the resort for a vacation were few and far between. The entire private beach itself didn’t have many people.
Ji Qingqing’s long skirt billowed in the sea breeze. Although it wasn’t summer yet, the temperature was just right. Ji Qingqing removed her shoes. While she ran barefooted along the beach she didn’t feel cold either.
Meanwhile, Lu Lixing stood by the beach. He did not enter the water and just quietly gazed at Ji Qingqing. A sea breeze blew over. There was no need to worry about his work-related matters and be under constant tension. In such an idyllic time, being able to quietly watch the waves crashing into the shore then receding layer after layer was a moment of carefreeness that he had never experienced before. A lightness swelled from within, making him feel extremely at ease.
As she walked along the beach, each step Ji Qingqing made left footprints on the sand and not once did her smile subside.
Her smile made him feel more at ease than the sea.
“Do you like the sea?”
Ji Qingqing smiled and looked at the sea’s surface. “Of course, I like it. It feels so comfortable when the wind blows.”
The salty and damp sea breeze blew over him and Lu Lixing inhaled deeply. “En, it’s not bad.”
The tide rolled in and out and the sea breeze blew directly on their faces. A pure white seagull flew across the sea, letting out a loud and clear cry before flying into the blue skies.
“Is that a seagull?” Ji Qingqing pointed to the small dot in the sky. “It’s a pity there’s only one.”
In this private beach, it was already good if one could chance upon even one seagull.
A wave rolled over. It was a sudden large wave. In order to avoid getting her skirt wet, Ji Qingqing immediately retreated a few steps back. As the sand was too soft, she couldn’t help but stagger backwards, nearly falling onto the ground. Lu Lixing then reacted quickly. He caught and half-hugged her from behind.
【Scheming bitch!!!】
【Intentional!! Ji Qingqing must be doing it on purpose! Intentionally falling into President Lu’s arms!!!】
【President Lu’s pitiful. Ji Qingqing is eyeing him, sighs.】
【Ji Qingqing has such good tricks! She’s no doubt a male god harvester.】
Lu Lixing whispered in Ji Qingqing’s ear, using a voice so soft that it was only audible to the two of them. “This and you can’t even stand properly. Purposely, hm?”
Originally, Ji Qingqing was standing steadily, but when she heard his words, her legs gave way a little. She gave Lu Lixing’s foot a brutal stomp. Now having regained her balance, she maintained a certain distance away from him.
“Thank you, Mr. Lu.”
“… You’re welcome.”
The two of them walked along the shoreline and with every step made, they left two rows of deep and shallow footprints onto the sand.
A cameraman followed them a distance behind.
A sea breeze blew over and Ji Qingqing shivered.
“Cold?”
“A little.” Ji Qingqing didn’t think that it would be this cold from just casually walking on the beach.
Lu Lixing glanced at the time. “Let’s head back then.”
Ji Qingqing walked up the beach and Lu Lixing followed behind her. He silently carried her forgotten shoes that were left on the beach.
