My Yandere Harem Doesn't Accept No-Chapter 23: Cheating on Me?
"W-Sorry...?"
Lyan’s voice came out more nervous than he expected.
Clearly shaken by the question and the way she had asked it.
The atmosphere in the infirmary suddenly grew heavier.
Evelyne’s gaze turned colder. Lifeless...
As if something inside her had completely shut off.
She slowly lowered her leg from his lap and sat close to him, completely invading his personal space.
Then she brought her face within inches of Lyan’s.
He could only look down at his own lap, unable to meet her eyes... he didn’t dare.
Evelyne leaned in a little more, her face practically brushing against his.
Lyan could feel her warm breath against his skin.
"Are you cheating on me, Lyan-kun?" her voice came out soft, almost like a whisper.
But the tone in which she said it was completely opposite to the sweetness she was trying to convey.
It was cold.
Empty.
And terrifying.
Lyan felt a chill run down his spine.
’What the hell...?’
His mind was racing.
He didn’t fully understand why she was acting in such a... terrifying way.
A thousand hypotheses crossed his mind at once.
’Yandere? A bug? Or did I screw up by having sex with Solène...?’
None of it made sense.
The game hadn’t given him any warning or indication that doing something off-script would trigger a reaction like this.
But there it was.
With Evelyne pressed against him, staring at him with those completely empty blue eyes.
Lyan swallowed with difficulty.
At that moment, the door burst open.
The oppressive atmosphere vanished as if it had never existed.
Lyan lifted his gaze toward the door almost desperately.
It was the doctor.
A middle-aged woman with her hair tied in a bun and a surprised expression upon seeing the unexpected visitors.
"Did something happen?" she asked, looking between the two of them.
Evelyne responded immediately with a warm, calm smile.
"I twisted my ankle, that’s all."
Lyan glanced at her from the corner of his eye, everything about her had gone back to being... normal?
The smile, the tone of her voice, the relaxed expression...
As if nothing had happened and as if nothing had been about to...
’What the hell was that?’
he thought, unable to get the image of those empty eyes out of his mind.
The doctor looked at him curiously.
"Is that true?" she asked.
Lyan nodded nervously, stuttering as he spoke. "Y-Yeah... she... twisted her ankle."
Evelyne looked at him with a smile.
Then she placed her leg back on his lap as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
The doctor approached and examined the ankle, immediately noticing how red and swollen it was.
"Wow..." she murmured. "This looks bad."
She got to work right away, heading over to one of the cabinets to take out bandages and some ice.

While the doctor treated Evelyne, Lyan remained seated in the chair across from them.
Thinking.
’Was what I just witnessed real?’
She didn’t seem like the same girl from before, she didn’t even seem like the same person.
There had been something completely different in her eyes when she asked if he was cheating on her.
She had seemed... dangerous.
Lyan frowned slightly as he continued to process everything.
’Though... getting involved with other girls besides the main five would alter the game, right?’
he thought with some logic.
After all, it was a conquest game centered around those five girls.
Maybe one of the game’s developers had implemented that kind of mechanic if the player strayed from the storyline.
A kind of punishment.
Or warning.
’Even so, that terrifying experience is the last thing I want to feel again.’
he thought, still feeling the lingering chill from a few minutes ago.
But that would mean stopping seeing Solène.
Lyan pressed his lips together.
Even if they had only slept together once, and maybe it hadn’t meant anything more to her than just a night together, he wanted to keep spending time with her, even if only as friends.
He liked her.
He felt comfortable with her.
And he didn’t want to lose that just because the game might have some hidden moral limit.
"Alright." the doctor said suddenly, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Lyan looked forward.
The doctor had already finished treating the injury, Evelyne’s ankle now wrapped in bandages with some ice placed on top.
"You should stay here for the rest of the school day and rest." the doctor told Evelyne in a firm but kind tone.
Then she looked at Lyan with a smile.
"And have your boyfriend carry you home."
Lyan blinked.
"What?"
The doctor gestured toward Evelyne with her head.
"As the boyfriend who caused the accident, you should take responsibility, right?"
She said it jokingly, letting out a light laugh.
Evelyne also laughed, covering her mouth with her hand in an adorable way.
Lyan, on the other hand, felt a bit uncomfortable.
"W-We’re not..."
Evelyne interrupted him before he could finish.
"We’re not dating." she said with a slightly embarrassed tone, looking away with her cheeks faintly flushed. "But... we have something going on."
She said it like a shy girl who had just admitted something embarrassing.
The doctor looked at her with a huge smile.
"Ah, the youth of today is beautiful." she said with a nostalgic sigh.
Then she left the infirmary, leaving them alone once again.
Evelyne turned her head toward Lyan, looking directly into his eyes.
And for a second, her gaze intensified.
Not as much as before, but enough to make him swallow with difficulty.
’...’
Lyan said nothing.
He just looked back at her, feeling the atmosphere grow tense again.
At that moment, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
Lyan took it out immediately, almost with relief, and unlocked the screen.
It was a message from Reid.
Reid: hey where are you? Didn’t see you in class
Lyan looked at the message for a second.
Then he lifted his gaze toward Evelyne, who was still looking at him with that small smile on her lips.
"..."
