My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 80: The fall of a tyrant
Today, Tetsuya will finish it all by himself. It doesn’t matter to Tetsuya, even if he loses his life. From the start, he had mentally steeled himself to die, given that his congenital heart disease had taken a toll on his overall health.
Tetsuya once told his doctor, who had treated him in the past, that he would rather die in battle than lie weak and helpless on a bed like an invalid, waiting for death to come without being able to do anything. For Tetsuya, it was better to be struck down by a sword or shot by a bullet than to wait for death.
Though Tetsuya’s body was weak due to his congenital heart condition, his mental strength was more substantial than steel.
"What is your final message, Young Master Tetsuya?" Ryoji sneered, his cruel grin suggesting he already felt victorious just by seeing Tetsuya surrounded by dozens of guards.
Tetsuya smirked coldly in response, "To see your head separated from your body," he replied icily.
Without fear, Tetsuya stood tall amidst the encirclement of dozens of fully armed men. Even though he was alone, armed only with a poisoned dagger, he showed no sign of trembling, even as death loomed right before his eyes. If it were anyone other than Tetsuya in this situation, they would likely be on their knees, begging for mercy with tears of fear streaming down their face.
Tetsuya clenched the dagger fiercely, glancing at Shin, who stood beside Kaito. Without noticing, not even Ryoji, the two shared a wordless gaze.
He could have tried to rescue him out of pity, yet he chose not to and seemed almost numb to Tetsuya’s plight, almost welcoming end. Tetsuya was, as expected, bitterly disappointed, but he was not quite angry at Shin. There must have been a reason that he didn’t act.
"Annoying how arrogant you are, more like it, Young Master," Ryoji scoffed, wondering how Tetsuya dared to threaten him when his life was practically draining away from his body. "Do you even think death hasn’t come for you?"
"The Ishikawa family itself is pretty haughty," Tetsuya replied lightly, revealing one such shady aspect of an Ishikawa.
"Cut the bullshit, Tetsuya. You are too stubborn to do so; Surrender. At the same time, I still offer you the opportunity," Kaito cried in frustration over Tetsuya’s obstinacy in giving in.
Tetsuya chuckled, his eyes glacial. "I am not a coward that runs from battle."
Kaito was irritated to the point that his heart was experiencing discomfort. "Then, fine, if that’s what you want, don’t blame me for being cruel."
"You’re just a grumpy old man like that," Tetsuya said dryly.
Kaito was so furious that he wished to cut off Tetsuya’s throat for defying him every time. Seeing his grandfather about to go on the offensive, Tetsuya braced himself.
But before either could throw a punch, an explosion sounded from the front gate’s direction, and a plume of black smoke erupted into the night sky in triumph of an attack on the mansion. For a brief moment, all eyes focused on the surprise attack. Tetsuya dared to face Ryoji, but his grandfather punched him; Tetsuya flew, and then his grandfather kicked him in the gut so hard that he hit the ground.
"Ugh~" Tetsuya regurgitated a mouthful of blood.
Kaito, the flames, and Tetsuya got into trouble; Haruto dragged Kaito out while Tetsuya got burned, leaving Ryoji to take care of things with Shin.
The mansion was in complete disarray, with panic among the servants asleep in their rooms.
The fully armed guards who had filled Kaito’s private room earlier now rushed outside in a panic, trying to stop the intruders and forgetting about Tetsuya, who had been surrounded moments ago for attempting to kill Kaito.
The sound of gunfire, accompanied by cries of pain, echoed loudly throughout every corner of the mansion.
No one had expected Renji to arrive with the entire Hayabusa group fully armed. This made it clear that his visit to the Ishikawa mansion was not for a friendly visit or negotiation with the old man but rather to attack as an enemy.
One by one, Kaito’s men fell, drenched in blood, along with innocent servants who were caught in the crossfire. Many guards were killed, unable to withstand Renji’s deadly assault.
The title Black Devil fits Renji, given his skills and ruthlessness as a cold-blooded killer.
Most of the Ishikawa mansion was reduced to rubble due to the explosions. To add to that, there was a pile of corpses and blood stained in almost every corner of the mansion. Heeding those words, Renji went on to cut down any in his path, severing limbs, arms, legs and even heads that would scatter across the mansion grounds—omitting Fujita, Keiko and others who would stand behind Renji as a second shield.
Renji had deliberately divided his team into several groups, following the strategy planned at their headquarters before heading to the Onibara base.
As per Arashi’s orders, accompanied by Ryuji, they rescued Saki, who was reportedly imprisoned in the underground dungeon. But try as they might to search every single cell, there was no trace of her—other than a used contraceptive device found in one of the cells discovered by Arashi. It seemed to have been recently used.
Arashi felt his heart fall, thoughts dark about Saki flooding his head, fuelling his anger. He wanted to kill whoever it was who had dared to hurt and desecrate Saki.
Arashi’s fury was compounded by Saki’s apparent absence, tipping him towards rage-filled insanity.
Because of this, Arashi opened fire on the Onibara members with no discrimination, venting his anger without mercy.

Kaito tried to flee to safety in a hurried escape, accompanied by his youngest son. Unfortunately, their plans were thwarted when someone blocked their path.
"In quite a hurry, old man," Renji greeted casually, holding a blood-stained katana.
"Renji!!" Kaito shouted in disbelief.
Having lived in the Ishikawa mansion for years, Renji was familiar with every corner, including the secret passage Kaito and his son were using.
"Haruto, take him out," Kaito ordered.
"Understood," Haruto replied, though reluctantly.
As Haruto was taking a step in, a Dagger flew past him. He was able to dodge, but the attack separated Kaito from him. When Haruto turned, he saw the handiwork of someone he knew all too well.
"Shiro..." Haruto gasped in disbelief, recognizing his former comrade.
Shiro was not without reason to be on this mission. To those who knew him, he was just a secretary at Renji’s company. He relaxed to the point of being unreal. He was a different person, so it would be shocking to anyone to see him now.
After years of suppressing the pain in his heart, Shiro finally had the chance to unleash it, avenging the death of the brown-haired girl whose life had been taken in vain.
"Long time no see, Haruto," Shiro said coldly, his eyes glowing with a murderous aura.
On the opposite side, Renji and Kaito stood against each other. Finally, this is it. The moment Renji had longed for ever since was facing his grandfather one-on-one after much buildup over the years.
"Even though it’s been so long since we last met and exchanged greetings, why are you in such a hurry to leave now that I’ve come to visit?" Renji spoke, his face feigning sadness.
"Is this your version of a visit? That bringing all your members and pointing your sword at me?" Kaito retorted.
I wanted to come pick my future aunt up and give you a gift or something," Renji said playfully.
"Stop your nonsense, Renji!" Kaito shouted angrily.
Renji stared coldly at Kaito. "But it’s you who should stop, old man. "Enough of this," Renji retorted, equally fierce.
Kaito smiled condescendingly. "Don’t make me laugh. What do you think you can do to me? Having a little power doesn’t make you all high and mighty, as if you’re big and great."
A macabre grin twisted Renji’s good-looking face. "Have you forgotten how Onibara got this strong, Grandfather?" he said, recalling his substantive contributions to the Onibara group long ago.
Hating his previous self, the assassin Renji, who was seriously drenched in blood, he replied, "Without me drenched in blood, you could never be where you are now." This immediately rubbed Kaito the wrong way; he felt insulted by Renji’s words.
"For years, you used me as a killing machine to achieve your ambitions, never caring whether I was in pain or not," Renji vented, unleashing all the anger he had kept buried in his heart toward his grandfather.
"You should be repaying all my kindness. Isn’t it your duty as a grandson to be devoted to your grandfather? Especially after I raised and nurtured you to become who you are today. Is this how you repay all my kindness, Renji?" Kaito fired back, refusing to be cornered or admit his faults.
Renji laughed briefly, then looked at his grandfather.
"True, you raised and nurtured me, but not as a grandson—as a killing machine, something you could use at your whim for your dirty ambitions," he said with a sneer.
"So, what do you want now?" Kaito asked, unwilling to argue further
"But to stop you," Renji declared, levelling his katana at Kaito.
Kaito grinned, drawing his katana to meet his grandson’s challenge. He was Renji’s flesh and blood, but this fight wouldn’t end until one of them was dead. In other words, Kaito had no qualms about killing Renji, and the reverse was also true.
The saying goes that blood is thicker than water, but that didn’t apply to Kaito, who valued power over family.
Without mercy, Kaito swung his sword at Renji, uncaring if his grandson died by his hand. All familial ties were forgotten; now, it was simply the leader of Onibara facing off against the leader of Hayabusa.
Kaito had taught Renji how to wield a sword, so in this fight, Kaito felt he had the upper hand, confident he could defeat Renji. Little did he know that his grandson had excelled beyond Kaito’s expectations, having secretly trained with a legendary sword master that the latter was unaware of.
Kaito’s movements have become much less agile compared to when the fight first started. Now, he was having difficulty parrying Renji’s fierce strikes. Renji made an extended, deep cut on Kaito’s arm. Fresh blood gushed out, splattering and pooling on the wooden floor beneath Kaito.
"Well, come on, old man. What else do you have?" Renji mocked, believing that age had robbed his grandfather of his powers.
"Shut up, you brat!" Kaito let out a battle cry as he ran toward Renji, unwilling to retreat.
If one were to observe closely, Kaito’s attacks were growing weaker, and his movements slowed as if he were losing strength. At long last, Renji’s sword drove deep into Kaito’s left shoulder, making the older man staggered backwards until he hit the wall.
"Ugh~" Kaito vomited blood. He had been severely injured.
"Where’s that arrogance from earlier, old man?" Renji looked down at Kaito with a mocking smile. Kaito’s eyes flashed with malice as they bore into Renji’s, full of concentrated hatred.
Renji tightly gripped the hilt of his sword, looking at his grandfather without traces of hatred and profound sorrow. As much as Renji hated Kaito deep down in his soul, his humanity couldn’t help but feel sad. He always remembered the times when he was a child. He had his parents, elder brother, and grandfather.
A single tear rolled down his cheek. "Just for the sake of power, you were willing to sacrifice your own family, leaving me all alone and turning me into a killing machine! Where is your conscience as a father and a grandfather, Kaito Ishikawa!!!!!" Renji shouted, his voice filled with rage and hatred.
"Why... why did you have to be so cruel..." Renji murmured sadly. His hands trembled as he gripped the katana tightly.
"I wanted to become a ruler. To show the world who the Ishikawa family truly is," Kaito revealed his greatest ambition.
"Nonsense!" Renji shouted coldly.
"What do you gain from achieving that, old man? Do you want everyone to kneel and worship you like a king?"
"You’ll never understand," Kaito muttered.
"I will never understand your narrow and twisted way of thinking."
Renji truly couldn’t comprehend his grandfather’s mindset. Where did this desire come from? Hiroshi must have been incredibly skilled at brainwashing someone to turn Kaito into this.
Was what happened today a curse on the Ishikawa family from the past?
Many dark events had shaped their family’s history, including the tradition of becoming the clan leader. Siblings had to kill each other to prove their strength, all under the guise of protecting the Ishikawa clan. Renji couldn’t grasp what his grandfather was seeking or what was worth calling наpen and breaking so many people, hurting Renji and Tetsuya to make them as they were now — forced to rely on each other to keep them from dying alone.
The next moment, a fusillade of foam burst out of Kaito’s mouth, and his eyes began bulging as though about to pop out. Renji was bewildered, not knowing why he was showing signs of poisoning. The sword Renji used wasn’t coated with any poison.
Unbeknownst to Kaito, his leg had been grazed by Tetsuya’s poisoned dagger when he kicked Tetsuya in the stomach to save Ryoji.
The poison on Tetsuya’s dagger was incredibly potent, usually taking effect within minutes. But because Kaito was highly resistant to poison, the poison took a long time to act.
A long-hoped-for thing for both Renji and Tetsuya—Kaito had finally died, and both of their hands were at his death. Renji had managed to stab him with his sword while Tetsuya poisoned him. That was a well-organized effort, indeed!
Now, both of them had avenged their grievances and the pain of losing their family, as well as punishing Kaito for all the evil he had committed.
"Go to hell in peace, old man," Renji said as he closed Kaito’s bulging eyes.
One problem was now resolved. Renji knew he had to hurry to the next task, and after that, he was confident everything would end.
