Chapter 294: What if?

He screamed and cried.

With his very existential self ablaze, it was akin to the concept of Realm Father Elshen being forcefully torn apart.

But it was his eroding cultivation that made him cry in desperation.

Sun Jade Ancient Lord gazed at Elshen, and his gaze, along with the gazes of the many abstract souls across the Jade Vine Pure World, was felt by the Realm Father.

Elshen felt his very existence withering.

Ancestor Green already had a devil festering in his heart, and he was a lifeline that Elshen could return through, but he did not want to die.

If he lost the Heaven Purifying Lotus, Elshen would not even want to return from death...

However, just then, a roar resounded across the world!

This was an angered roar, a desperate roar...

Then, there was silence.

Elshen heard nothing, as if the entire world had transformed, and as if there was a Sun Jade Ancient Lord no more.

The energies that were rampantly destroying his existential self began weakening at a rate faster than his plummeting cultivation and willpower.

His perception swept out, and he swiftly realized where he was.

Though relieved, he could not express his relief in his current state...

.....

It took another seventy or so years for him to recover.

In Mythralis, Sun Jade fire doused the skies and swept over the endless landscape of greenery.

Anon had returned to his true form, and he sat on a bench made out of marble.

The image of an endless cosmic expanse was painted over this marble-like material.

He had a strange gaze that stared intently at Astaria, seemingly attempting to pierce through endless cosmic mysteries...

"The World Tree influences the entire Eternal Antiquity Prime region," Anon said with a frown on his face, "Those were your words, my wife."

Anon thought that a desirable action for what she did was to tear apart her flesh and destroy her soul; however, there were many factors at play here.

This blindfolded Saintess before him was a Pinnacle-Level Dimension Lord. In the vast cosmic space, the title of Pinnacle was equal to Overlord...

More than that, when thinking deeply, she was a thigh that provided fortuity. He had to hang onto this thigh. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Thankfully, her love wasn’t false, so there was no way that she would actually let him die, right?

Although what he had experienced in the past seventy or so years was less than ideal, if he were to use that to judge, then the benefits she brought him would always outweigh the drawbacks.

After all, unless he was caught by an Overlord and sealed away for eternity, then pain would always be something momentary, but the Heaven Purifying Lotus brought him permanent power.

This was borrowed power, yes, and to become a Dimension Lord was slightly different than the usual path for him; however, he could also unearth all the power from this cosmic treasure.

So to him specifically, this borrowed strength was permanent, and it would be the foundation for him to achieve true, immeasurable power.

Hence, his celestial nature was only slightly perturbed by what had taken place, and he pondered on what punishment he should inflict and what punishments he was actually capable of carrying out.

"My love," Astaria’s lips trembled, but Anon squinted his eyes and doubted whether this was a truthful reaction or if she was exaggerating.

"The World Tree does have an influence on all territories within this Prime region, but when transporting you to and from different worlds, I must create a resonance between the two worlds..."

When Astaria began speaking, Anon was initially doubtful; however, when her words began making some logical sense, he doubted his own doubtfulness.

"The realm power contained within multiple Dimension Lords could easily interfere with this resonance. You must understand, it was really strenuous on my part." Astaria said.

So, was he the one who was actually being harsh?

Anon almost stood up and cursed aloud, flipping the table over, at least in his imagination.

Sighing deeply, instead, he said, "Maybe I should really just cultivate diligently in one corner."

He looked into her blindfolded eyes and waved his hand, revealing a green flame, "After my Dark Soul devoured Sun Jade Ancient Lord’s flames, and my God’s Eye deciphered the secrets of Fire contained within it, I’m close to enlightening 30% of my own principle of Fire."

"I wonder who in this world can achieve this?"

Turning calamity into fortune!

This was a power those with Transcendent physiques had. Just like the Cosmic Guardian back then, who now had the power of a million primordial suns...

He who had the Boundless physique also actualized this ability, even greater than the Transcendent physique.

Astaria remained silent whilst her husband continued with a shake of his head, "Although this is directly thanks to the Sun Jade Ancient Lord, but in a hundred years, not just my principles of Fire, but my principles of Fate, Destiny, and Inevitability should also be close to 30%."

After all, once he completed his otherworldly consolidation, his principles of Fate, Destiny, Inevitability, and Fire should be enlightened to 50%.

This period was less than a thousand years; however, the Sun Jade Ancient Lord’s attack had harmed him for close to seventy years.

Although it resulted in his principle of Fire benefiting greatly, it had prolonged the enlightenment of all his other principles.

One needed to think of the good and the bad when thinking of one’s benefits.

If the period of his otherworldly consolidation was going to be affected to this degree, was it really worth it?

One might even think that it would be smarter to give up the idea of achieving the Paradisical soul, but Astaria gently shook her head.

"Even if your principles aren’t enlightened by a single percentage in the five hundred years leading up to the Paradisical Void Palace’s appearance," Astaria said.

"Upon nurturing a paradisical soul, instant consolidation will occur, allowing each of those principles to be enlightened at 50%, effectively in five hundred years."

"More importantly, you’ll acquire a paradisical soul, won’t you? Thereafter, even the threats of the Overlords will be somewhat nullified once you’re inside the cosmic space."

Anon remained silent, thoughtfully.

He was only speaking casually.

What had truly irked him was the derailment of his already established path.

He had voiced Fate and woven Destiny, etching them in Inevitability; however, he could not manipulate the Dimension Lords to the same degree.

More precisely, he could not control the abstract soul with only the 20% enlightenment he had of the principles of Destiny, Fate, and Inevitability.

A cautious person would think of this and would not wish to continue this path.

They would think of the worst-case scenario, because if abstract souls were troublesome to manipulate and control, what about a paradisical soul?

What happened when an Overlord’s gaze was attracted?

This was, naturally, the worst-case scenario and highly unlikely.
