Chapter 298: What is a little humiliation on this path?

Decorated by fluffy golden clouds, the Ancient Cloud Pathway stretched across the Heart-Dripping World Space.

Naturally, due to the Desire Dripping Atavistic Empire’s existence, the ancient cloud pathway only covered the entire Celestial Heart Empire, and many regions across the world space, and not its entirety.

Nonetheless, for this alone, the Boundless Light Empress had paid a great price to establish the ancient cloud pathway.

The concept of the ancient cloud pathway was very similar to the stellar threading pathway created by the Overlord, the Star-Drifting Monk, which spanned the entire Human Domain, allowing those who traversed it to move at speeds many times faster than the speed of light.

This was the power of the Primary-Level...

In the ancient cloud pathway, what appeared to be an ancient pavilion was actually a cosmic vessel spanning a thousand miles, leaping in and out of clouds, like a fish in the sea.

The ancient cloud pathway contained an infinite space within.

This was a complex dimension.

The cosmic vessel assumed the appearance of an ancient pavilion that housed two figures. The Fourth Princess, Maarsha, and her protector, an Entry-Level Dimension Lord.

The protector had a sagely appearance.

His white beard reached his chest, and his long, white hair hung all the way to his waist.

As he rubbed his beard, deep in thought, his eyes flashed with a light of wisdom, and he observed Maarsha, the Fourth Princess.

Where she sat allowed her to view the world outside the cosmic vessel, and she propped her face against the palm of her hand.

Evidently, besides the endless golden clouds, there was very little to actually see in the ancient cloud pathway.

Just then...

"Lady Maarsha, we’ve reached the outskirts of the nightscape forbidden land, the nether lake region." The protector had an aged voice along with a refined and noble demeanor.

After he said this, the cosmic vessel dove into the golden clouds, descending into the world beneath the ancient cloud pathway.

.....

Nether Lake Region...

In the nightscape forbidden land, there was no concept of day, only a perpetual darkness that permeated the skies and drowned out sunlight.

Yet still, in this dark world, light was present as chaos ensued!

The nether lake region was populated by dark, lifeless trees with gnarled branches, giving off the impression of monstrous, shadowy figures under the night skies.

The earth was blacker than tar and oozed a thick, black fog that mingled with the wind. There was no scent in particular, but every inhale left a unique sense of dread in the hearts of men.

"Stop running! You have nowhere to go." A hoarse voice reverberated loudly, shaking the lifeless trees and causing the twisted branches to move forebodingly.

"Hahaha, I have always wondered what a beauty from the Moonlight Sword Clan would taste like!"

"Earthly Moon Sword Maiden, I would love for you to display your dazzling sword dances to us brothers."

A group of Cosmos Forgers adorned in crimson robes laughed with delight. They stared with lustful eyes at the beautiful girlish youth that they chased.

She had a delicate appearance and large watery eyes. Her fair skin was so soft it would burst with a gentle pinch, and her violet eyes reflected the fear permeating her heart.

Her brows arched with worry as she desperately attempted to escape her pursuers.

Warning signals exploded in her mind.

Reacting quickly, she unsheathed a thin sword and drew a delicate arc in the air, resisting the piercing blood arrow that was about to collide into her back.

Nevertheless, the power contained in the blood arrow was overbearing, and it caused her body to crash into the earth below.

The black fog attempted to bind her to the earth, but she gritted her teeth and shot into the air, a deep scowl on her tender face...

The Nether Lake region represented the boundary separating the nightscape forbidden land and the Dark Sky Kingdom.

Closest to the Nether Lake region was the Red Heaven Clan, part of the Dark Sky Kingdom.

However, even though the Nether Lake region was a boundary that suppressed the remnant energies of the nightscape forbidden land, the Nether Lake region had its own residual energy that affected the heart and mind.

The Red Heaven Clan members were chaotic, and their souls were greatly affected by the residual energy; however, whether it was due to the residual energy or not, they were even stronger than the royal lineage of the Dark Sky Kingdom.

If not for the existence of the other clans, who knew what acts they would’ve committed?

More importantly, with the nearby Kingdoms, the Dark Sky Kingdom could not shift manpower to suppress the Red Heaven Clan.

Anyway, the Nether Lake region, said to house many evil spirits and ghosts, was a place that held fortuity as well.

After all, calamity and fortune went hand in hand.

Members of the three clans and the royal lineage regularly ventured into the Nether Lake region to grasp opportunities.

Naturally, the Nether Lake region was vast.

Even if the Red Heaven Clan were situated nearest to the Nether Lake region, it did not mean that running into their members inside this region was certain.

In fact, one needed to be suffering from a great misfortune.

Sadly, Ah Ri, who had ventured into the Nether Lake region with her sisters, was unlucky enough to cross paths with members of the Red Heaven Clan.

Her clanmates were dead, and they chased her, seeking nothing more than to fulfill their disgusting desires.

’If they catch me, I’ll obliterate my soul!’ Ah Ri’s eyes flashed with determination.

There was no possibility of her going through such humiliation.

"What is a little humiliation in the path of seeking the mysteries of the cosmos?" A foreign voice suddenly resounded in her ears.

Instinctively, Ah Ri shirked away; however, the voice originated from all directions.

Thereafter, a light so blinding that even her unfathomable soul felt as if it was burning in a sea of flames, descended into the world of the nether lake region.

Her mind shook, and her soul trembled in fear, but luckily for her heart, this did not last very long.

When the world returned to normal, she opened her eyes with great difficulty, tears welling up in her eyes like a mortal staring into the sun...

Looking around in a daze, all that was left of the members of the Red Heaven Clan were particles of dust fading with the wind.

Ah Ri was instantly mortified...
