Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 164: Three S+ quests
Chapter 164: Three S+ quests
"Don’t worry, Master!" Seraphina nodded without hesitation.
BOOM!
In the blink of an eye, her form shifted—
She transformed into a massive, terrifying dragon.
With a sharp whoosh, her enormous green wings unfurled, blotting out the sky. A hurricane-force wind surged around her, swallowing everything in its path. In an instant, her colossal body shot toward the battlefield like a meteor.
"Filthy lizards—DIE!"
Seraphina raised one of her claws, and in a flash, a Tier-3 Strategic Artifact—Hellcrusher Maul—materialized in her grip. As her Draconic Force surged through it, the weapon morphed into a monstrous claw, streaked with dark green and violet-gold energy. With a roar, she slammed it down with devastating force!
BOOM!
The impact exploded like a tidal wave crashing down, smashing into swarms of Tier-11 Manticores, Tier-12 Venomspike Manticores, and even Tier-13 Legendary Units like Hydras.
The damage was instant and brutal.
BOOM! BOOM BOOM BOOM—
The ground quaked violently as the raw power of the Strategic Artifact tore through the enemy ranks like a tornado. In mere seconds, over a dozen enemy units were obliterated.
The sight alone made Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor and Venomspike Manticore Vorrak freeze in shock, their expressions darkening with fear.
"A... Crimson Ultimate Hero?!"
Suddenly, Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor shuddered, a wave of pure dread washing over him.
SWOOSH!
He tried to retreat, but he was a second too late.
SPLURCH!
A gleaming platinum claw—razor-sharp and massive—ripped through the air and slashed across Thal’Zor’s body, severing one of his heads clean off!
"ROOOAAAR!"
A blood-curdling scream tore from the Chaos Hydra’s remaining mouths.
"Balthazar! I’ll kill you for this! Vorrak, help me!"
Thal’Zor bellowed in rage and charged at Balthazar like a beast gone mad. Vorrak moved to assist—but just as he did, a blade shimmered out of the shadows and forced him back.
"Who’s there?!"
"Show yourself!"
Vorrak snarled, his voice low and furious.
Tap. Tap. Tap...
Footsteps echoed as a dark domain spread across the battlefield. From within the shadows, Lilith emerged, calm and composed, her gaze fixed on Vorrak.
"Enough yelling," she said coolly. "Your fight’s with me."
Both were Legendary Heroes—marked by their orange-tier status. Vorrak, born of the Tier-12 Manticore bloodline, definitely had the edge in raw power and natural strength over Lilith, who hailed from the Tier-10 Dragonblood Elves.
But the catch?
She was higher level.
Vorrak hadn’t even hit level 30 yet.
Lilith was already 37.
That gap was more than enough to close the difference in bloodline.
Besides, she wasn’t here to kill him.
She just had to keep him busy.
The longer she stalled him, the better it was for their side.
BOOM!
The battlefield was still raging with chaos.
But ever since the Emerald Castle army had joined the fray, the tide of battle had visibly, dramatically shifted. In the blink of an eye, the once-dominant forces of Hydras and Venomspike Manticores were being pushed to the brink of annihilation.
"ROOOAAARRRR!!!"
Seraphina let out a thunderous, earth-shaking dragon roar. Her Venomous Dragon Breath spewed out in waves, tearing through enemy lines with devastating force. She was on a rampage—unstoppable, godlike, mowing down everything in her path.
At her current power level, even Tier-11, Tier-12, and Tier-13 Legendary Units couldn’t last a single round against her.
The only ones who could even hope to stand toe-to-toe with her now...
Were the Tier-14 Mythic Units—Chaos Hydras.
But the problem? There just weren’t enough of them to go around.
BOOM!
Just as Seraphina was starting to feel a little frustrated by the lack of worthy opponents, a massive explosion of Draconic Force erupted nearby.
Cicero had transformed into his dragon form and was charging straight at one of the Tier-14 Chaos Hydras.
Less than five minutes later...
That Mythic Chaos Hydra lay dead at Cicero’s feet.
"Another Crimson Ultimate Hero?!"
Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor and Venomspike Manticore Vorrak—already struggling to hold their ground against Balthazar and Lilith—both froze. Their bodies trembled, pupils contracting in disbelief.
One Crimson Ultimate was already terrifying enough.
But two?
This was insane!
How the hell was this even possible?!
At that moment, Seraphina—clearly not thrilled—shouted across the battlefield, "Cicero! Can you stop hogging all the kills?! At this rate, there won’t be anything left for me!"
"..."
Cicero was speechless.
He wanted to say, I literally just killed one, but years of experience—and basic survival instincts—told him: never argue with a woman mid-battle.
"Fine, fine. I’ll leave the rest to you guys."
He turned and casually walked off the battlefield, heading back to Ethan’s side with a grin. "Master, it’s over. We’ve won."
"Yeah," Ethan nodded, his eyes scanning the battlefield, now completely one-sided. His gaze was filled with awe and reflection. He realized that even though he’d already held Seraphina, Cicero, and the others in high regard...
He had still underestimated them.
Honestly, it was starting to feel like—even without the Behemoth clan’s help—Emerald Castle might’ve still pulled off this victory on their own.
"So this... this is the true power of Unit Heroes," Ethan murmured, clicking his tongue in amazement. "They’ve opened my eyes again."
In any competition, being first always meant more than being second or third. Olympic gold medalists became household names, while silver and bronze winners were often forgotten.
The same logic applied here.
Special Units, no matter how powerful, were still just units.
But Unit Heroes?
They were something else entirely.
The key wasn’t the "unit"—it was the "hero."
Back when Ethan was still low-level, the difference hadn’t been so obvious. But now, as his Unit Heroes leveled up...
He could see it clearly.
No matter how strong a regular unit was, if it wasn’t a Unit Hero, it simply couldn’t compare.
And now, with the Emerald Castle army’s arrival, the entire battle had flipped on its head—just like that.
"Elynn, when can I finally make a move? If we wait any longer, I’m afraid it’ll be too late..."
At the same time, Elyra ran up to Elynn, looking utterly pitiful.
She looked like she was about to cry, her face scrunched up in frustration.
"Now! You can go now!" Elynn said quickly, spinning around to shout orders to the others.
"Everyone, fall back! That’s an order!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh...
The moment Elynn gave the command, every single unit from Emerald Castle—heroes and regular troops alike—scattered without hesitation, retreating from the battlefield in all directions.
Seeing this, Balthazar hesitated for a second, then nodded and called out, "Stop fighting! Do as they say!"
The Behemoth clan froze for a moment, but this time, no one objected.
They obediently pulled back, not a single one daring to stay behind.
And right then, Elyra lit up with excitement. In an instant, her entire body erupted with a blinding surge of magical energy—brilliant and terrifying.
This was her innate ability: Avatar of Light & Thunder.
"My time to shine has finally come!"
"Master, allow me to bring you victory."
The next second, Elyra raised a finger to her lips and tapped gently. Instantly, a terrifying wave of thunder and light magic burst out from her like a tidal wave crashing through a frozen sea.
Vmmm!
The moment that power hit the battlefield, nearly every Tier 11 Manticore, Tier 12 Venomspike Manticore, and even the Tier 13 Legendary Hydra units were frozen in place.
Paralyzed by the thunder.
Crushed under the weight of the light.
They couldn’t move an inch, as if some kind of divine stasis spell had locked them in time.
The only ones unaffected were the Tier 14 Mythic Chaos Hydras, including the monstrous Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor, and the Venomspike Manticore hero, Vorrak.
But that didn’t matter. Not even a little.
Because right then, Elyra’s voice rang out—clear and melodic, yet in that moment, it sounded like a demon’s chant.
"Double Divine Storm!"
In the blink of an eye, her mana bar dropped to zero. And at that exact moment, a deafening boom tore through the sky, like the heavens themselves were collapsing.
BOOOOM!
Holy light rained down. Thunder roared like a beast unleashed.
It was like watching a comet slam into the Earth.
The sheer destructive force of the spell was otherworldly—like it had come from beyond the stars, ripping through the sky and crashing down on the helpless Hydras and Venomspike Manticores below.
Explosions rocked the battlefield. Thunder crackled wildly. Blinding light shattered the air.
Wave after wave of raw magical force surged outward, annihilating everything in its path.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh...
The shockwaves didn’t stop. The blast radius expanded rapidly, stretching out for miles, each wave slamming into the next, creating a chain reaction of devastation.
It went on and on, a relentless storm of destruction.
And the damage? Absolutely brutal.
At the same time, a system notification chimed in Ethan’s ear.
"Congratulations to player Valkarion’s unit hero Elyra for successfully completing the S+ Special Quest — Annihilation of the Behemoth Lair!"
"Enemy kills confirmed: 11-Tier Manticores — 27 out of 112, 12-Tier Venomspike Manticores — 12 out of 41, 13-Tier Hydras — 15 out of 31, 14-Tier Chaos Hydras — 2 out of 7!"
"Remaining mission time: 2 hours, 32 minutes."
Ding!
"Special Notice: Player Valkarion, please eliminate as many mission targets as possible. The more you kill, the greater the rewards!"
Ding!
"Congratulations, player Valkarion. Please note: the S+ Special Quest — Annihilation of the Behemoth Lair has been updated! Mission objectives have changed!"
"New S+ Special Quest added: Doom of Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor!"
"New S+ Special Quest added: Doom of Venomspike Manticore Vorrak!"
"S+ Special Quest — Doom of Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor: Eliminate Thal’Zor, King of the Ashenwood Hydras of Sylvanwood!"
"S+ Special Quest — Doom of Venomspike Manticore Vorrak: Eliminate Vorrak of Obsidian Ridge, the Venomspike Manticore of Sylvanwood!"
...
A whole string of mission prompts popped up in rapid succession, nearly making Ethan jump out of his skin.
But after the initial shock wore off, excitement surged through him.
"Hell yeah! Two more S+ quests just dropped!"
"That means... once this war’s over, I’ll have completed three S+ missions at once?"
Three S+ quests. That meant three top-tier rewards.
And when it came to quest rewards, no one ever said no to more.
Especially not S+ tier rewards—those were guaranteed to be insane.
"Don’t let any of them escape! Kill them all!" Ethan shouted, voice sharp with adrenaline.
"By your command, mighty Master!"
ROAR!
Seraphina let out a thunderous dragon cry that shook the sky.
Without hesitation, she lunged toward the nearest 14-Tier Mythic Chaos Hydra. The weaker enemies? She didn’t even bother with them.
Only Mythic-class units—and monsters like Thal’Zor and Vorrak—were worthy of her wrath.
But for now?
She’d start with this Chaos Hydra.
They were all going to die anyway.
Didn’t matter who went first.
