Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 166: Green Dragon Longsword
Chapter 166: Green Dragon Longsword
"We won."
The moment Ethan saw it, he knew—the battle was over.
Emerald Castle had won. Completely. Decisively.
The Chaos Hydras, once the pride of the Mythic Units, were being slaughtered one after another.
The remaining 11-Tier Manticores, the 12-Tier Venomspike Manticores, even the 13-Tier Legendary Units—the Hydras—were nothing more than a few stray cats now.
Not even worth mentioning.
From here on out, the fight was basically over. Their side wouldn’t even need to take any more damage. They’d crush the enemy, plain and simple.
Thinking that, Ethan turned and shouted, "Seraphina! Take a break. Let the others handle the rest. Your job now is to protect them."
Seraphina needed to level up, sure—but so did everyone else.
She’d already taken the lion’s share of the experience from this battle. It was only fair to let the others get a taste of the rewards too.
As a lord, Ethan didn’t expect to be perfectly fair all the time—life didn’t work that way. But he also couldn’t play favorites too much.
"Yes, Master!"
Seraphina nodded immediately, clearly understanding what Ethan was getting at. She didn’t argue.
At the same time, her gaze shifted toward the brutal clash happening not far away—Balthazar locked in a life-or-death battle with the Chaos Hydra, Thal’Zor.
Thal’Zor, as the losing side, was already doomed. Death was inevitable.
But no one stepped in to interfere.
First, because the level of that fight was just too high. The sheer power both of them were throwing around was terrifying. Aside from Seraphina and Cicero, even the 14-Tier Mythic Units didn’t dare get involved—let alone anyone else.
Second—and more importantly—was Balthazar’s pride.
Everyone knew he wanted to finish this with his own strength. With his own fists. He wanted to avenge his fallen kin personally, not through someone else’s blade.
If someone helped him win, it wouldn’t be a victory. It would be a stain.
And now, the fight between them had reached its final moment—the moment of reckoning.
"Splat!!!"
Balthazar, moving like a ghost—fast, fluid, deadly—lunged forward.
His claws, savage and razor-sharp, tore through the air toward the Hydra’s nine heads.
"BOOM!"
A shockwave exploded out, indescribable and terrifying, as Balthazar’s blood-red eyes locked onto his prey. The force of his strike was brutal, unrelenting, and utterly insane.
In that instant, nothing else in the world mattered.
All eyes were on that one devastating blow—ripping through the sky like a god’s judgment.
It was terrifying. Bone-chilling. Unforgettable.
"That’s... the Behemoth clan’s innate skill—Last Stand?" Ethan muttered, eyes flashing with shock.
The Behemoths were known for their berserker nature—the more damage they took, the more terrifying their attacks became. It was like a raw, brutal version of Seraphina’s Rampage of the Green Dragon, only less refined.
But the real terror of the Behemoth bloodline—especially the 14-Tier Mythic Units like the Ancient Behemoth—was their racial ability:
Last Stand.
A suicidal strike that burned through their own blood, even their life force, to unleash a devastating blow. It ignored 80% of the enemy’s defense, hit with maximum force, and could even tear into the soul itself. It was the kind of power that didn’t just kill—it annihilated.
"Splat!!!"
Balthazar’s claws ripped through two of Thal’Zor’s remaining three heads in a single, savage strike.
Then he drove his claws into the beast’s thick neck, slicing downward, severing arteries in a spray of blood that drenched him from head to toe—making him look even more feral, more monstrous.
"Thal’Zor! Die already!"
Balthazar’s eyes were bloodshot, his voice a guttural roar. He pounded the dying Chaos Hydra relentlessly. Thal’Zor tried to fight back, but it was no use—her strength was gone.
The 14-Tier Mythic Unit, Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor, was on the brink of death.
But even then, she didn’t show a shred of fear. Instead, she grinned—wild, defiant.
"Cough... cough cough... Balthazar... didn’t think I’d lose to you. Damn, you’re one tough bastard."
"But hey... I’m not going alone. I’ve got plenty of your kin to keep me company in the afterlife. I’d say that’s a fair trade... Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHA!"
Her laughter was hoarse, broken, but filled with madness.
At her words, Balthazar’s pupils shrank. His rage exploded.
With a roar, he slammed his claw down on her final head.
BOOM!
Thal’Zor’s last head burst like a melon, blood spraying in every direction, soaking the battlefield.
And with that, the infamous tyrant of southern Sylvanwood—the Nine-Headed King, Thal’Zor—was no more.
Ding!
[Congratulations, player Valkarion, on completing the S+ special quest: ’The End of Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor.’ You have earned the following rewards:
20 million gold coins
300 units of each of the six major resources
2 random Tier-3 Strategic Artifacts
5 random 13-Tier Legendary Units, or 4 of your choice
Would you like to claim your rewards now?]
"Claim them," Ethan said without hesitation.
"And I want to specify the unit: Tier-13 Legendary Unit—Green Dragon."Ethan said without a second’s hesitation.
Choosing a specific unit meant getting one less than if he went with random selection.
At first glance, it seemed like a loss.
But when you really thought about it, it wasn’t a big deal.
Because honestly, stuff like random draws and loot boxes? Total crapshoots.
Sure, if you lucked out and pulled something like an Angel, Green Dragon, Kirin, or Arcane Colossus, that’d be great.
But what if you ended up with a Black Dragon, Inferno Devil, or Bone Dragon—units from the evil factions?
Now that would be a nightmare.
You wouldn’t want them, but you couldn’t just toss them either. Super awkward.
So instead of gambling and getting stuck with something you didn’t want, why not just go all-in on Green Dragons?
Especially with Seraphina and Cicero’s racial talent buffs, even a mid-tier Legendary Unit like the Green Dragon could instantly soar to top-tier status.
They’d become monsters—13-Tier hidden Legendary Units in all but name.
Able to punch Angels in the face and kick Black Dragons and Inferno Devils into the dirt.
And when you looked at it that way, it wasn’t just a fair trade—it was a total win!
Ding!
"Player ’Valkarion’ has selected a specific unit reward: 13-Tier Legendary Unit – Green Dragon x4. Please wait... Beep. Selection complete!"
"Player ’Valkarion’ has received: Legendary Unit – Green Dragon x4. Please check your inventory."
Ding!
"Player ’Valkarion’ has used a random Level 3 Strategic Artifact draw. Initiating... Beep. Randomization complete!"
"Congratulations! Player ’Valkarion’ has obtained Level 3 Strategic Artifact: Green Dragon Longsword!"
"Congratulations! Player ’Valkarion’ has obtained Level 3 Strategic Artifact: Crusader Longsword!"
Green Dragon Longsword – Level 3 Strategic Artifact. Increases Attack by 70 points. When equipped by a Green Dragon race hero, it boosts all four base stats, HP, skill damage, and racial talent effects by 3%. This item is one of the components of the Level 4 Strategic Artifact set: Green Dragon’s Might.
Note: When equipped by a Green Dragon race hero, this artifact permanently reduces the recruitment cost of 13-Tier Green Dragons in the Dragon Cliff building of that hero’s castle by 5%. This effect stacks!
Crusader Longsword – Level 3 Strategic Artifact. Increases Attack by 40 points and Defense by 20 points. This item is part of the Level 3 Strategic Artifact set: Crusader’s Arsenal.
"Green Dragon Longsword?!!"
"No way—my luck’s that good?!"
The moment he saw the words Green Dragon’s Might, Ethan froze in shock.
He couldn’t believe it. It was unreal.
If you’d asked him before what Strategic Artifact he wanted most?
He wouldn’t have even hesitated.
Level 3 Strategic Artifact: Green Dragon Longsword!
Or any other piece from the Green Dragon’s Might set—he’d take it in a heartbeat!
Because come on, just imagine it—once he completed the full Green Dragon’s Might set, the power boost to his Green Dragon army would be insane. Like, game-changing.
But in the world of Glory Lords X, there were thousands—maybe tens of thousands—of Strategic Artifacts.
And since this was a random draw, he hadn’t dared to hope.
But somehow, against all odds—
The one thing he didn’t expect to get...
Actually dropped into his lap!
"Hell yeah!"
"Time to upgrade Seraphina’s weapon!"
A huge grin spread across Ethan’s face, pure excitement lighting up his eyes.
He was absolutely pumped.
Now that Seraphina had hit level 30—and with the racial artifact Green Dragon Longsword in hand—her power had skyrocketed. It was like strapping a jet engine to a warhorse. The boost was insane.
Her strength had taken a massive leap forward.
Yep, no doubt about it—grinding monsters and knocking out quests was the real path to power.
That whole "quietly build up strength" strategy? Total dead end.
Stirring up trouble? Now that’s the way to go.
And just from this one S+ tier quest, Ethan was already feasting on rewards. He was eating good. And there were still two more S+ quests waiting in the wings. Once he cashed those in?
Man, he was about to go from zero to fat-cat in one bite.
Just thinking about it made his blood pump faster.
The very next second, Ethan’s gaze shifted toward Venomspike Manticore Vorrak—and his eyes lit up with a greedy gleam. He was itching to make a move.
"Seraphina, go give Lilith a hand," Ethan ordered.
In a one-on-one, Lilith and Vorrak were pretty evenly matched. Neither could really get the upper hand.
So if they wanted to end this fight quickly, someone had to tip the scales.
And Seraphina? She was perfect for the job.
With the two of them teaming up—Seraphina and Lilith launching a coordinated assault—even a beast like Venomspike Manticore Vorrak couldn’t hold out for long. He fought like hell, but in the end, he died with a look of pure despair carved across his monstrous face, Seraphina’s claws tearing through him like paper.
The thing was, Vorrak was still a "free agent."
His soul hadn’t been bound to any lord’s Castle Heart yet.
Which meant—just like Chaos Hydra Thal’Zor—once he was dead, that was it. Game over. No resurrection. No second chances.
And right as Vorrak’s body hit the ground, Ethan’s ears were filled with the sweet, melodic chime of the system notification.
Ding!
"Congratulations, player Valkarion, for completing the S+ Special Quest: ’The Fall of Venomspike Manticore Vorrak!’ You’ve earned the following rewards!"
"—15 million gold coins
