Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 213: Phase 2
Chapter 213: Phase 2
As everyone knew, Crimson Ultimate heroes were practically divine beings—legends so powerful they were said to rival the gods themselves.
Because of that, Crimson Ultimate heroes were insanely rare. Forget having a few—just one was enough to make entire kingdoms green with envy.
And yet now, hearing it straight from Cicero, a Crimson Ultimate hero herself, she was stunned to learn that her own lord... actually had more than one under his command. More than one?! That was just... unreal!
Ethan and Cicero both paused for a beat, clearly catching her reaction. Then Cicero smiled and spoke on Ethan’s behalf. "You’ll see soon enough—our master is far more powerful than you can imagine."
After a short pause, Cicero turned to Ethan and continued, "Master, this Kirin Creature Dwelling is controlled by the altar beneath our feet."
"If I’m not mistaken, the altar’s function is to channel the power of the Soul Sentinel within the Kirin’s dwelling to keep the Kirin egg barely alive."
"That’s right..."
Thalassa nodded in agreement and addressed Ethan. "My lord, we’ve been using this Kirin Creature Dwelling to preserve the life force of the Kirin egg. Because of that, it’s temporarily lost its recruitment function."
"And the 13-Tier Legendary Unit Kirins we have in the Stellamaris Kingdom? They’ve been with us since the days our ancestors fled after the kingdom fell. They’ve stayed with us ever since..."
"I see." Ethan nodded, finally understanding why, even after ten thousand years, the Stellamaris Kingdom only had a handful of 13-Tier Legendary Kirins. It wasn’t because they were weak—it was because they hadn’t recruited any new ones at all. They’d been using the dwelling solely to protect the egg.
In the world of Glory Lords X, lifespans were long—especially for higher-tier races. For 13-Tier Legendary Units, living thousands or even tens of thousands of years was no big deal. So the fact that the original Kirins were still alive wasn’t all that surprising.
With that realization, Ethan murmured to himself, "Now we just wait for the second phase of the quest."
The Kirin egg couldn’t hatch yet, and the Kirin dwelling couldn’t be used for recruitment. In other words, there wasn’t much he could do right now—just wait for the next part of the chain quest to trigger.
"Oh, right..."
Suddenly, something clicked in Ethan’s mind. He turned to Cicero and asked, "Cicero, how’s your research on the Twinfold Arcane Gate coming along? Can we build it yet?"
[Twinfold Arcane Gate]
Allows the creation of a magical portal in a designated area, enabling instant teleportation across any distance with no cooldown.
Construction Cost: 10 million gold, 200 wood, 100 ore, 50 mercury, 50 crystal, 50 gems, 50 sulfur, 5 Magic Pattern Ore, 1 Heart of an Arch Devil.
Building Requirement: Grandmaster-level Mage.
Gold and the six basic resources? No problem.
The Heart of an Inferno Arch Devil—a 14-Tier Mythic Unit? Check.
Magic Pattern Ore? Got it.
The only uncertain part was the "Grandmaster-level Mage" requirement...
But before Ethan could even finish the thought, Cicero nodded without hesitation. "Master, I’ve already finished studying the Twinfold Arcane Gate. As long as we have the materials, I can build it for you in half a day."
"Seriously?!" Ethan’s eyes widened in surprise, then lit up with excitement. "Alright, it’s all yours. Take all the Magic Pattern Ore you need!"
The significance of building the Twinfold Arcane Gate couldn’t be overstated.
First, it would link Emerald Castle with their forward base.
Second, it would allow troops to reinforce each other instantly between the two locations.
And beyond that—instant communication, resource sharing, personnel transfers... the list went on.
The strategic value of all that? Absolutely massive.
Take their current situation, for example.
If the next phase of the quest turned out to be insanely difficult—if the enemy was way too strong—he could just use the Twinfold Arcane Gate to zip back to Emerald Castle and bring in reinforcements. That kind of rapid response could completely turn the tide of battle.
And that... could be the difference between success and failure.
"Don’t worry, Master. Leave it to me!" Cicero took the Magic Pattern Ore with a confident nod, her tone full of assurance.
Just then, a familiar chime echoed in Ethan’s ears—the system notification.
Ding!
Congratulations, player "Valkarion," you have successfully triggered the second phase of the hidden chain quest: "Awakening of the Kirin."
Phase 2: The Arrogant Envoy of Crimsonstar Kingdom
Objective: Unknown (explore to uncover)
Difficulty: S+
Time Limit: 3 days
Quest Progress: Phase 2 / ?
The quest timer has begun. Please prepare accordingly.
"Ah..." Ethan blinked, momentarily stunned by the message. His eyes narrowed slightly as he processed the information.
"So it really is Crimsonstar Kingdom, huh..." he muttered under his breath, not sounding particularly surprised.
"Cicero!"
"Yes, Master!"
"I’m counting on you to get that Twinfold Arcane Gate up and running—ASAP."
"Understood, Master."
Ethan then turned to Queen Thalassa. "Thalassa, how many unit heroes does Stellamaris Kingdom currently have?"
Thalassa straightened up and replied, "My lord, including myself and Mareth, we currently have six Epic-tier heroes and over ten Rare-tier heroes."
"No Legendary-tier heroes?" Ethan asked.
"N-no..." Thalassa’s voice faltered slightly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "We don’t..."
"Have them prepare," Ethan said calmly, his tone growing more serious. "It won’t be long before we’re facing stronger enemies... and larger, bloodier wars. You all need to be ready—mentally and physically."
"Understood, my lord. The warriors of Stellamaris Kingdom will not let you down."
"Good..."
...
At the same time, far off in the coastal waters near the Unicorn Duchy, hidden deep within the Arcane Mistsea, on a seemingly insignificant island...
The Pirate King Seyric, pale-faced and visibly shaken, was reporting everything that had happened in Sufan’s domain to a figure within a glowing magical projection.
"Seyric, are you telling me someone led a Crimson Ultimate–level Green Dragon hero and completely wrecked your operation? Left your entire force in shambles?"
"Yes, Lord Belric!" Seyric stammered, his voice trembling. "I swear on my life—it was definitely a Crimson Ultimate–level Green Dragon hero! I’d stake everything on it!"
"And that wasn’t all. That man also had a Gold Dragon with him—at least Mythic Ace Unit level!"
"Those two alone wiped us out!"
"Lord Belric, the forces Darek and I command... we’re no match for that kind of power. And now Draven’s betrayed us—he’s joined that man’s side! I need reinforcements from the kingdom. If we don’t get help, there’s no way we can take down Stellamaris Kingdom!"
...
The figure in the magical projection was silent for a long moment.
Then, in a calm, measured voice, he finally spoke. "Understood. I’ll report everything you’ve told me directly to His Majesty. Seyric, wait for my word."
"Yes, Lord Belric..."
