Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 994: When the Legion Broke
Finally, after that brief burst of chaos, the Stone Golem legion moved again.
Every golem released its internal power at the same time. Vast energy surged out of their rocky bodies, tens of thousands of auras weaving together as the entire army rose higher into the sky.
Whatever Ethan really was, he was a threat they couldn’t ignore anymore.
If they couldn’t erase him as fast as possible—
The consequences would be unthinkable.
The sky still carried the lingering tremors from the earlier collapse, and the Stone Golem legion—shaken but not broken—began gathering strength again.
Dense ranks of stone giants hovered overhead. The energy cores inside them flickered nonstop, like countless heavy hearts beating in perfect sync.
Deep, oppressive power flowed between them, gradually forming a new field of disturbance across the sky until the air itself started to feel thick and sluggish.
And right then, Ethan’s aura shifted again.
He hung in midair, the enormous energy he’d just absorbed still surging through him.
That power—ripped from the Stone Golems—rammed and battered inside his body. But under Ethan’s will, it was slowly forced into order, guided, compressed, and rapidly transformed into something far more violent.
Bone-white lightning began to gather around him again. Fine arcs ran from his fingertips up his arm, then spread outward.
This wasn’t ordinary electricity.
It was power in an extremely compressed form.
Ethan lifted his palm slowly. Lightning packed tighter and tighter in his hand. The energy that had been chaotic a moment ago was dragged into the thunder like rivers being swallowed by a whirlpool, fusing at terrifying speed.
In only a few seconds, the lightning mass swelled into something blinding. The white glare turned the distant sky pale.
When the power hit a critical threshold, Ethan brought his arm down.
Thunder fell.
A gigantic bolt of white lightning cleaved down from the heavens, like the sky had been split open by an enormous axe.
It slammed straight into the center of the Stone Golem formation. The moment it hit, it detonated with a world-shaking impact.
The ground convulsed.
Where the lightning struck looked like a meteor impact—earth collapsing instantly as rock and dust were thrown up by the shockwave.
The surface shattered outward, cracks spiderwebbing in every direction as a huge crater formed in the blink of an eye.
And in the middle of the Stone Golem legion—
A whole chunk of them was simply gone.
The dense formation looked like it had been torn open by an invisible hand. Dozens—maybe over a hundred—Stone Golems were pulverized in that single hit, and what remained rained down as broken rubble from the sky.
Ethan descended through the fading glare.
He didn’t pause.
His body flashed forward, and he appeared inside the gap he’d just carved out.
With a casual sweep of his hand, an invisible force spread from his palm. The scattered energy cores hanging in the air trembled as if yanked by a hook, then shot toward him.
One. Two. Ten...
Dozens of glowing cores gathered into his hand, and he collected them effortlessly.
But Ethan knew the truth.
That strike wasn’t something he could throw out again and again. It had been a forced burst—compressed and released only after he’d absorbed most of the projection’s power. His reserves were already more than half-drained.
In the short term, there was no way he could unleash thunder on that scale again.
The Stone Golem legion didn’t know that.
That single apocalyptic blow shattered their will completely.
Rock giants that had been hovering began dropping fast. Many Stone Golems slammed down and actually knelt, their huge stone bodies lowering stiffly like terrified animals.
Some started bowing their heads over and over.
Massive stone foreheads struck the ground repeatedly, dull booms echoing across the battlefield. Their voices were chaotic and trembling, thick with fear.
"The Lord of the World... he has to be the Lord of the World!"
"Only something like that could control our power!"
Panic spread like wildfire. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Ethan didn’t spare those voices a second glance.
His eyes stayed cold as he pushed forward again. He lifted an arm, and the remaining energy in his body surged outward. A vast, crushing force pressed down from above.
This time it wasn’t a focused thunderstrike.
It spread into a wide energy field.
It was like the sky had been covered by an invisible curtain.
Violent power compressed downward, swallowing huge sections of the Stone Golems. The air boomed dully. The ground shook. The pressure was so heavy that the golems kneeling below could barely even raise their heads.
In just a few seconds, more than half of them cracked under that weight.
Rock bodies shattered one after another. Debris burst into the air, and the leftover energy dispersed almost immediately.
The remaining Stone Golems finally snapped out of their fear.
They realized that begging wouldn’t save them—Ethan clearly wasn’t planning to let them walk away. The ones still capable of fighting forced themselves upright. Their energy cores flickered frantically as they prepared to unleash whatever they had left.
But the instant they tried to counterattack—
The distant sky lit up with fire.
One streak of artillery after another slammed in from far away.
Emerald Castle’s forces.
Flying warships and enhanced units surged in from the edge of the sky, dense attacks carving bright trails through the air. Energy bombardment fell like rain, drowning the Stone Golems who’d just been about to strike back.
Explosions chained across the battlefield.
Rock bodies were blown apart. Wreckage flew in every direction. Within minutes, the entire area was swept clean.
When the last Stone Golem turned to dust in the blasts, only drifting grit and lingering energy aftershocks remained in the air.
The battle was over.
Ethan rose slowly into the sky.
He extended his palm and drew the scattered energy cores in from across the field. Hundreds of cores, each flashing with different light, floated around his hand like a cluster of tamed stars.
But his attention wasn’t really on the loot.
The fight replayed in his mind over and over.
That thunder strike—its effect—had made him sense a new possibility. If he could compress and fuse large amounts of energy from different sources into lightning, then detonate it in an instant, the destructive power could be amplified dozens of times... maybe hundreds.
It wasn’t just "releasing" strength.
It felt more like rearranging an energy structure.
Ethan narrowed his eyes, about to think deeper—
When a figure stumbled in from the distance.
A surviving Stone Golem.
Apparently the only one that had gotten lucky enough to live through the slaughter. Its massive rocky body wobbled up to Ethan, then dropped to its knees without hesitation.
It slammed its head down several times.
Stone struck the ground with heavy, dull thuds.
"M-my lord... please spare me!" Its voice was frantic and uneven. "We only came because we were ordered to. We didn’t want to be part of this war!"
It raised its head, fear and urgency spilling out of every word.
"If you’ll let me live... I can take you to the Dark Abyss!"
