Chapter 813: The Midgard Serpent, the Rubbing Colossal Dragons (II)

Roar! Roar!

The Single-Horned Kunpeng and Silver Colossal Dragon surged into the crystalline passage first. Trailing behind them, the slow-to-react Destructive Dragon Emperor followed, and then the graceful Golden-Blue Colossal Dragon unfurled its wings and glided after them.

As soon as the colossal beasts crossed the canyon shrouded in black mist, a vast, endless blue ocean came into view.

Yet there was no sign of life in these waters. The rippling waves released an ominous corrosive aura, and with every splash against the rocks, another layer of stone was eaten away, steadily eroding the surroundings.

A faint blue mist drifted across the sea’s surface, obscuring the sky and sun. Even space itself hissed and warped under its touch.

This corrosive presence sent a strong sense of danger through the three mythical colossal beasts, including the Silver Dragon.

This was a forbidden zone formed entirely of poisoned, corrosive waters—a place where even mythical-level colossal beasts would have their law domains and physical bodies corroded by the mists until they melted away completely.

Seeing this, the three beasts instinctively turned toward the Dragon Emperor.

Stay... behind... me. The Dragon Emperor rumbled slowly, unleashing a solid ring of violet light from its body.

Boom!

A hundred-kilometer radius around it was flooded with violet light, forming the Calamity Domain. Within this space, all living things withered; no life could remain. Even microscopic organisms in the soil, on the rocks, or drifting in the air disintegrated. The land turned pitch black, veiled in rising violet smoke.

This was the manifestation of the high-level Law of Corrosion at its peak, one that annihilated all life. The silent, invisible aura of death it exuded made even the Silver Dragon and the other beasts feel a chill deep in their cores.

Compared to the Destructive Lightning or the Sky-Scorching Golden Flames, it was the poison—silent and inescapable—that invoked true dread.

The Calamity Domain, spanning a hundred kilometers, charged with a roar into the Blue Sea of Death like a monstrous violet beast, kicking up raging blue shockwaves as it flew deeper inside.

Thunder Fiery, a little to the left, more to the left... With the Kunpeng constantly adjusting their direction, the group of colossal beasts howled through the sky and soon crossed more than four thousand kilometers into the heart of the Blue Sea.

In the distance, a massive island spanning several hundred kilometers came into view. At its edges stood more than forty towering blue trees, each one a thousand meters tall. Their trunks were firm, and their branches and leaves were like blue crystals, radiating brilliant light.

These giant trees rooted deep within the rocky island, some even reaching into the sea. Their blue radiance repelled the toxic mist, forming a safe zone beyond the reach of the corrosion.

Amid the colossal branches, each as large as a mountain, hung clusters of white fruits, ranging from a few meters to over ten meters in size. Within them, a pure white liquid energy could be seen flowing faintly.

All of the colossal beasts’ eyes lit up at once.

The Silver Dragon let out a proud and thunderous roar. So many treasures! The great Saixitia can’t even count them all! We’re rich, Ao Tian!

The Golden-Blue Dragon shook its head with elegance. Saixitia, you're still as foolish as ever. There are barely five hundred fruits, and you can’t even count them?

Damn you, Thorsafi! You called the great Saixitia a fool again! Once I finish eating, I’ll give you a good beating!

You mean after the great Thorsafi finishes beating you up first?

Fight! Fight hard! The great Yiyi loves watching beasts fight!

Perched on the Dragon Emperor’s head, the Purple Dragon watched the growing chaos with bright eyes, cheering them on, much to the Dragon Emperor’s silent exasperation.

Currently in an online state, the Dragon Emperor let out a deep, resounding growl. ...Enough. You two stop bickering. Let’s check things out first.

Boom!

The mountain-like black-and-red colossal beast landed heavily on the island. The ground quaked, the earth cracked, and shockwaves rippled outward.

The Dragon Emperor turned slightly, gazing at the towering tree before it—nearly its own height—and opened its mouth slightly. A formless suction wind howled out, engulfing the blue tree.

Whoosh!

In the roaring gale, three white fruits, each over ten meters in size, and several others just a few meters across, were sucked into its mouth and swallowed whole.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Waves of pure life energy burst within the Dragon Emperor's body.

The Dragon Emperor’s eyes lit up instantly, and it let out a low growl. These divine fruits are quite good.

They had been refined from the toxic energy of the Blue Sea. In doing so, they were stripped of impurities, containing both pure energy and Corrosion Law particles, capable of stimulating rapid physical growth in living beings.

Though each fruit didn’t contain much energy individually—the largest only rivaling a high-level divine item—their quantity made up for it. After who knows how many tens of thousands of years, hundreds of them had accumulated here.

Eat them. As many as you can handle. Since there were simply too many, the Dragon Emperor didn’t bother assigning shares—after all, the Silver Dragon and the others could never out-eat it anyway.

With the Dragon Emperor having tasted them first and opened the way, the Silver Dragon, Kunpeng, and the other colossal beasts all roared excitedly and pounced toward one of the blue divine trees.

Whoosh!

Gales howled as each colossal beast opened its massive jaws and inhaled furiously, swallowing white divine fruits one after another.

However, due to the energy attributes of these natural treasures, after consuming just over a dozen, the Silver Dragon and the others began to develop resistance. The effects weakened noticeably, but as long as there were still effects, they kept eating.

The Dragon Emperor, on the other hand, had no concern for resistance. Standing tall at the center of the island, its domain spanning over a hundred kilometers, it swept up one fruit after another and swallowed them.

With each explosion of energy inside it, the Dragon Emperor’s body swelled once again, soon reaching a length of 2,450 meters.

This was the proper way to explore the Chaotic Region. In this zone, where the great world had fractured and pierced into the chaotic void, surges of chaotic energy frequently poured in, creating an unstable environment overflowing with natural treasures.

The more dangerous the region, the greater the chance of discovering rare treasures due to the extreme environmental conditions, including hidden void fissures and micro-worlds.

However, even mythical-level colossal beasts could perish in these forbidden zones if they made a single mistake. Titan-level beasts could be gravely injured, and even ancient titans wouldn’t dare to claim invincibility here.

That was why, despite the likelihood of valuable discoveries, many colossal beasts didn’t dare venture too deep; one misstep could mean death. Even the Dragon Emperor could only accurately locate so many of these treasures because of the Kunpeng’s treasure-hunting ability.

As a result, most of the natural treasures found in these forbidden zones remained untouched by powerful beasts.

After devouring over forty fruits, the Silver Dragon finally stopped. Its entire body was enveloped in a thick aura of white life energy.

Wobbling forward on heavy steps, it staggered over to the Dragon Emperor, its head dizzy as it leaned against the latter’s massive frame. Immediately, its sharp silver horn scraped against the black-and-red scales, producing a thunderous boom of sparks. The Dragon Emperor responded with a pleased, low growl.

Ao Tian, the great Saixitia is so happy today. I feel like I’ll break through to the titan level soon and become as strong as Mother!

By now, the Dragon Emperor’s body had reached nearly 2,500 meters in length, with its shoulder height alone approaching 900 meters. Its presence was more imposing than ever. The Silver Dragon, barely 850 meters long with a shoulder height just over 300 meters, looked like a ten-year-old child snuggling up to a mountain-sized parent.

Before the Dragon Emperor could respond, the Golden-Blue Dragon also staggered over and rubbed against it, mimicking the Silver Dragon.

Screech!

Its semi-transparent, crystal-like scales scraped against the Dragon Emperor, throwing off showers of sparks. In the glow, the Golden-Blue Dragon looked even more elegant and radiant.

Thunder Fiery, lean in a bit. The great Thorsafi feels a little dizzy. Why does it feel like back when we secretly drank the divine wine from Mother’s treasury... Didn’t we eat fruit, not wine? the Golden-Blue Dragon muttered groggily, shaking its head.

Seeing the two goofy dragons snuggling against it and rubbing up now and then, the Dragon Emperor simply shook its head, not bothering to respond.

Just then, the Kunpeng also stopped. Having gulped down over thirty fruits in one go, it wobbled its way behind the Dragon Emperor, then its wings gave out.

Boom!

With a loud crash, the Kunpeng slammed into the ground, shattering the earth across several kilometers. The shockwave sent countless chunks of rock clattering against the Dragon Emperor.

The Corrosion Law particles within the fruits did contain a trace of toxicity. Consuming too many too quickly overwhelmed even mythical colossal beasts, causing disorientation before digestion could catch up.

Sensing something was wrong, all three of the colossal beasts instinctively leaned closer to the Dragon Emperor. Deep in their subconscious, they knew that it was always safest near the Dragon Emperor.

At this point, the three colossal beasts, along with that overeager little fellow still happily munching away, had already eaten over a hundred fruits. The Dragon Emperor alone had consumed more than two hundred, yet the trees still held a good number.

Roar!

The Dragon Emperor let out a low growl, and the entire island trembled. Over a hundred remaining fruits shuddered and snapped from their branches as they were swept up in its invisible domain.

The others had already eaten their fill, so the Dragon Emperor held back no longer. In one breath, it devoured all of the remaining fruits.

Boom!

It was as if a hydrogen bomb with a yield of ten million tons had gone off inside the Dragon Emperor. An endless surge of energy burst forth, so dense that it even radiated through its body, glowing with white light.

Crack!

The Dragon Emperor’s body expanded violently. Within its flesh, bones, and even the surfaces of its cells, intricate law patterns began to emerge—the fused manifestations of nine high-level laws.

As its body evolved, those high-level law patterns grew more intricate and profound, exuding a powerful aura. The invisible might they released caused even the heavens and earth around it to tremble faintly.

This was the Dragon Emperor’s most fearsome trait. As long as it absorbed enough life energy, its top-level evolution ability allowed it to grow without limit. Other colossal beasts required long periods of sleep and meditation to slowly refine and evolve their grasp over the power of laws.

After just half an hour, the violent energy waves around the Dragon Emperor finally calmed. Its body had grown to more than 2,520 meters in length. Along its back, three rows of dorsal fins, each 200 to 300 meters tall, rose like mountain ranges, its figure now resembling a living black-and-red mountain chain.

Its aura had grown so heavy that space itself warped around it, and the island beneath its feet sank slightly under the pressure. It was now only a step away from breaking into the middle stage of the titan level.

Typically, an ordinary colossal beast’s body surpassed 1,700 meters upon entering the beginning stage of the titan level, reached 2,400 meters at the middle stage, 2,800 meters at the late stage, and 3,000 meters at the peak.

However, after evolving into a heavenly-tier lifeform, the Dragon Emperor’s tail had grown even longer, taking up more than half of its total body length. Its structure was now more akin to an eastern divine dragon; as such, its body was naturally longer than that of ordinary colossal beasts.

When it first broke through to the titan level, it had already reached 1,900 meters. By its own estimation, it wouldn’t reach the middle stage until it surpassed 2,600 meters, and the late stage at just over 3,000. At the peak, it could very well reach 4,000 meters in length.

Eeya! Eeya!

As the Dragon Emperor quietly savored the explosive growth in its strength, the Purple Dragon, radiating white light, wobbled through the air and flew back, a ten-meter-wide fruit still clutched in its arms.

The Purple Dragon floated toward the Dragon Emperor’s massive golden vertical pupil, drooling and mumbling drowsily. Brother, Yiyi’s going to sleep now. If you find more good stuff, remember to wake me up to eat.

The Dragon Emperor let out a low hum. Alright, I’ll call you when the time comes.

Satisfied with the promise, the Purple Dragon smiled and transformed into a streak of purple light, smashing headfirst into one of the massive black horns, then shaking its head dizzily before curling up in the black mane below and falling asleep.

These little fools... The Dragon Emperor shook its head. It extended one massive claw, grabbing the dazed Silver Dragon and Golden-Blue Dragon by their wings, and scooped up the Kunpeng with its other claw. Its vast body then shot skyward; it had no intention of wasting any more time here.

Boom!

As it flew at top speed, gale winds howled and blue toxic mist exploded behind it. In mere moments, the Dragon Emperor had crossed over six thousand kilometers, reaching the far end of the Blue Sea.

At the ocean’s edge lay a vast rift in space. The land had shattered, and countless fragments of rock now floated suspended in the air, stretching across an unknowable distance.

Just then, the Kunpeng, still gripped in the Dragon Emperor’s rear claw, began to emit a dazzling glow from its horn. Its bleary eyes cleared somewhat, and it let out an excited cry. Thunder Fiery, Thunder Fiery, something good—something very good is up ahead!

The Dragon Emperor paused, surprised that a natural treasure had been discovered so soon after leaving the Blue Sea. It instinctively growled, How good?

The Kunpeng chirped in excitement. Very, very good—law-level!

Having once glimpsed law-level divine items in the Azure-White Colossal Dragon’s treasury, the Kunpeng had some sense of what such a treasure meant.

Boom!

At the mention of a law-level natural treasure, the Dragon Emperor’s wings flared wide. With a deafening crack, it shattered the void behind it and blasted forward at several dozen times the speed of sound, smashing through countless mountains and boulders with explosive force.

The black-and-red colossal beast barreled through space, carving a destructive passage that stretched thousands of kilometers before it finally came to a gradual stop.

Ahead, the very fabric of space had collapsed, revealing a gray, hazy light sphere embedded deep between layers of void and surface reality. Through the mist, a vast, boundless continent could be seen—this was a stable fragment of a world.

As the Dragon Emperor locked eyes on the world fragment, atop a towering mountain in the continent’s center, a massive python over four thousand meters long suddenly raised its head.

Its body was clad in thick, ashen-white scales, its head brutal and fierce, and the ancient aura radiating from it filled the heavens and earth. It was a beast that resembled the mythical Midgard Serpent, its presence overwhelming and absolute.
