Chapter 587: Chapter 249: Save Me Quick, He’s In My Mind_2

Vigil was conducting research; this pose had never been taught by his teachers, nor had he ever seen it before. Inspired, he thought of further integrating himself with nature.

If he could achieve that, he might be able to instantly break through his shackles and successfully advance to a Legendary Mage.

Testing his theory, Vigil saw a great possibility. He glimpsed a door slowly opening and, without sparing a thought to rescue Sercy, he pushed through and walked inside.

Inside the door lay a vast world unlike any he had seen before.

I’m going to make it!

Sercy, having nowhere to turn for help, grew furious with Vigil’s treacherous cunning. To secure his position as the Great Prophet, he was prepared to eliminate Wayne and take him down as well.

I won’t let you have your way!

A surge of magic power erupted; Sercy’s white Magic Robe flared as he activated the defensive Divine Arts on it, summoning a shadowy figure of the Nature Goddess.

In that instant, a divine oppression, unique to gods, filled the space between heaven and earth.

Veronica felt a weight upon her shoulders, sensing the distant pressure. Without having the time to marvel at the Goddess’s appearance, scales as fine as frost sprouted on her arms and neck, and her pupils narrowed to slits. Her body began to grow taller gradually.

As she grew in stature, her demeanor changed too. Her coiled golden hair fell over her shoulders, and she matured significantly, transitioning from a Magician Girl to a Magical Sister.

She took a step forward to assist Wayne but stopped after two steps, her expression fluctuating.

Beneath her feet, clumps of an unknown white substance with strong adhesiveness were writhing and converging into fleshy tendrils and wrapped around her ankles, refusing to let her leave.

Veronica recognized these nauseating things; they were of the Protogenos Bloodline, emulating the Ancient Gods from society’s refuse. Occasionally, they would become tendrils. Although they were so hideous she could hardly bear to look at them, their life grade was higher than that of a Giant Dragon.

Before leaving, Wayne had left part of his body as a defense. Although it was well-intentioned, Veronica did not appreciate such overprotection. She was not merely a decorative vase, nor did she care for a greenhouse life.

Trusting society’s junkyard brain, Veronica halted, clenching her fist in irritation.

On the other side, Wayne, in his Elf Sprite Form, faced the shadow of the Nature Goddess. Green filled his eyes as his exceedingly pure faith confused the Goddess’s shadow.

Where is the enemy? Why can’t I see them? They are all allies!

The Divine Arts were merely an empty shell, utterly unreliable, which greatly surprised Sercy. He switched to casting manually, controlling the Divine Arts with his mind to launch a carpet-saturation attack on Wayne.

Green light spears swept the ground, inversely draining vitality and channeling the life force back to nature, achieving balance on a global scale.

Wayne was bathed in green light, his vitality stolen, but due to his connection with nature, he was already part of that balance. The next second, the lost vitality was returned to his body by nature.

Sercy was dumbfounded, shocked at nature’s favoritism toward Wayne. Caught off guard, the number he had calmly dialed disconnected once again.

Wayne too was shocked; the transmission of life energy came with a loss. To prevent losing three days of lifespan, he hastily breathed in to add five days to his life.

In that moment, Sercy’s hood, which hid his face, fell, revealing his handsome Elf appearance.

Intent on killing Wayne, he now saw his adversary as a dead man. Showing his true face was of no consequence to him. When the Divine Arts proved futile, he raised his hand for another...

Snap!

Wayne’s fist moved as fast as lightning, shattering the Life Barrier. As Sercy pulled back to retreat, Wayne’s arm extended like a serpent’s tail and firmly grasped his hand.

Sercy was momentarily stunned, his hand wrapped with blades of wind. His palm knife fell to cut off Wayne’s arm.

"What in the world are you?"

Looking at the severed hand that still clung to his wrist, Sercy’s scalp tingled. It had no blood, no vitality. The severed hand turned pale and even melted away.

Sercy thought of beings from the void and in a flash, the puzzles in his mind were resolved. Wayne’s flesh merged with the Star Beast; he had long transcended the concept of human.

That’s why his essence of life defied all logic!

Realizing the key, Sercy laughed heartily, mocking himself and Vigil for overthinking. Even the teacher could be mistaken. Wayne was not even human and could never claim the position of the Great Prophet.

Caught up in his prideful laughter, he failed to notice the melting hand, which now adhered to his white robe and moved toward his neck as if it had its own consciousness.

"You’re not a human; you are a magical being created by Windsor District, a forbidden product of Alchemy, destined only for a dreadful end," Sercy declared through gritted teeth.

Wayne no longer posed a threat, and Sercy’s murderous intent faded.

"To think you’d see through me. Now, even in death, I can rest in peace..."

Wayne’s eyes lost their luster, his body dissolving into white mush. Without bones to support him, he melted away to nothing but a puddle of white substance, leaving behind two rings and a garment made from Drake Scales.

Is he really dead?

What have I done?

Sercy was numb, cautiously observing the white mush for deceit while retreating quickly. ƒreewebɳovel.com

"Over here..."

A creepy voice sounded in Sercy’s ear. His eyes widened in alarm as he hastily erected a Life Barrier.

Too late!

White tendrils had taken root on Sercy’s body, merging with his skin, with copious foam proliferating. Accompanied by chaotic, whispering voices, they poured into his mouth, nose, ears, eyes, heading straight for his organs and brain.

"Aaaaahhhhhhh------------"

In agony, Sercy clutched his head and ran towards Vigil, screaming piteously for help.

Veronica: (눈_눈)

That’s disgusting. He won’t turn into a Tentacle Monster at night, will he?

Instead of marrying such a creature, it’s better to leave him to Willi. A Tentacle Monster suits her better.
