Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 111 - One Hundred And Eleven: It Would Be Our Little Secret.
The Underworld.
Oregon’s palace.
~~~
"How’s she doing?" Oregon asked the caregiver who he has appointed in charge of Sakura, her work was simply to report any slightest change in Sakura, since it was unusual that her body was refusing to heal up after he had gotten rid of the baby in her stomach.
"I’m afraid my lord, I would have no other choice right now but to advise that you restore her life force back. She’s dying, and I can’t say how long she got until she’s out for good." Nina, the Royal specialist said, as she cleaned Sakura’s face with a towel while feeling guilty for what she had done.
But anyway it was Oregon’s order, Nina pretend that she doesn’t know what exactly, was the issue between the both of them that had him take her life force and kill the fetus in her stomach.
Sakura was pregnant.
He kept it a secret.
She didn’t need anyone to tell her who the baby belonged to. It was definitely Adrik’s. Everyone knew that the two had something ongoing, Oregon was the only person who didn’t know or maybe he choose not to believe the rumors, well until now.
A sigh escaped Oregon’s lips after Nina’s statement, he matched forward to where Sakura’s body was being kept in the cold room, just so she wouldn’t start rotting away. At this point, he didn’t know what to do, as he was trying hard not to believe Nina’s words. Afterall, she was close friends with Sakura, so there was no need hiding the fact that she knew about this pregnancy long before him.
"How much days does she have left?" He asked, pushing a strand of hair away from Sakura’s face, as he wondered where exactly he had gone wrong with her.
If he manages to give back her life force, Sakura would do something crazy enough by taking revenge for what he had done. She already hates Narika, and the last thing Lucifer nor Adrik would do was to watch a mere Definite ghost like her to ruin his plans for years.
That’s why he had locked away her life force, and got rid of the baby because as much as she’s going to be filled with anger once she wakes up. Bringing that baby into this world, and assuming Adrik as the father would only lead to not just the baby’s death, but also hers too.
He had already made it his primary duty to protect her no matter what, so if it comes down to his responsibilities and his family. Sakura would always come first, he only hopes she understands the reason why he had to do what he did. It’s all for her sake.
"A week i am afraid."Nina replied, standing up to take Sakura’s wrist on her own to check something, before she looked up at Oregon.
"You have to do something for me Nina, I can’t have her waking up for now. We have a lot going on with Lucifer, I can’t risk her spoiling any of his plans because of her obsession with his son." Oregon said, his voice was laced with fear of the unknown.
He didn’t know what step to take further, since he already lied to Adrik about why he’s in the ghost world. He thinks that he is dead, but it was the other way around. Adrik was never dead, Lucifer had convinced him to tie his soul down here for him to abandon his life in the human world.
Then there’s the part where he tried to keep Narika away, because he knew how evil Lucifer was if he found out that Adrik isn’t willing to do what he asks of him. He knew Adrik better in just five years of his stay here.
He would never give in to what Lucifer demands from him. Not only did he fail as a fatherly figure to him, he ruined the young boy’s future by getting him involved in Hell affairs. But this was his responsibility and he knew that this day would surely come to pass.
"People are talking, Sir. It wouldn’t be long until they start to suspect that she’s missing. Adrik would.."
"Adrik would never ask about her if that’s what you are afraid of. He’s got far more important things to do than to bother about Sakura." Oregon cut into her words, "I warned her to stay away from him. She knew better than to get into this mess that we are in right now."
Nina had no other option than to drop the discussion about Adrik. Everyone has been talking about the ceremony tonight which she missed, because she was playing caretaker on Sakura.
Adrik was all along a demon. She had her suspicions since after that moment with the Grand Alliance, when he had somehow used his powers without knowing. Not only was he a demon, but a royal one too. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"I know you are lying about her dying, Nina. But as her friend, I am sure you understand what’s at stake here. So until the war is over and Adrik finally settles down with Narika. Sakura has to play dead."
"But sir that’s.." Nina tried talking back, but she was slammed to the nearest wall as Oregon’s black eyes shot back at her in anger.
"You don’t tell me what to do with my child! You will do as you are told if you want to go back to hell in one piece, understand?" Oregon threatened her to which she nodded her head in approval immediately.
He detangled his hands from Nina’s neck, before moving away from her while trying to control his breathing. He felt sorry for what he had done, but he knew without a little threat to her life she wouldn’t take him seriously.
"I will keep her alive." Nina responded with her head bowed down.
"Good. I would be smart to keep this away from Lucifer if i were you. It would be our little secret." Oregon said lastly before leaving the secret room that only him and Nina had access to.
He couldn’t help the feeling of being watched, and when he entered his room. He met Adrik seated at his seat with a proud smirk on his face.
"Long time no see, Father or will i say, Oregon."
