Chapter 113: Chapter One Hundred And Thirteen: Narika Needs Him Now Than Ever.

The underworld.

Oregon’s palace.

~~~
He has been expecting him.
Oregon wouldn’t deny that he didn’t know that it was just a matter of time, until Adrik pushed his way through his door to demand answers from him that he was ready to give him.
This time he isn’t planning on confusing the young man anymore, it’s only right since he has assumed his position as Lucifer’s son, that he tells him what his father isn’t going to tell him.
He had always known Adrian was disrespectful but not to him anyway, he had taken him into his home and given him the right that not any normal ghost would have.
But lest! He has forgotten so soon that he isn’t any ghost, and whatever respect Adrik had for him was long gone.
"You see, I have always had my suspicions about why you treated me differently from the others." Adrik said, standing up from his seat to move closer until he stopped in front of him. " But i must say, I didn’t imagine it to be this complicated." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Adrik added, his red eyes narrowing down in Oregon who gulped before looking away briefly, only to settle on him once again.
"I was working according to orders." He confessed, not sure if he’s going to believe him. But it was better this way, than to hide everything and feel guilty about it.
"To hell with that!" Adrik flared up in anger, his words held strong force as everything in Oregon’s room vibrated at the sound of his voice." I trusted you. I called you my father."
Adrik’s voice almost broke at his last statement. It made Oregon understand how hurt he was, but there’s nothing he’s going to do or say to justify his action. Adrik was just a pawn used by his father, and he had helped Lucifer achieve that.
"I tried to tell you son, he threatened to kill Sakura. There was nothing i could do but play along with his games, since nobody wanted to incur his wrath. For crying out loud, Adrik. He’s Lucifer!"
Oregon pushed his hands through his hair in a frustrating way, and turned to him." Follow me if you want answers." He said, before leaving for his library.
Adrik hesitated a few minutes, before he followed him as he pressed upon a button on his wall and a pathway cleared between the wall before he entered, followed through with Adrik at his back.
They walked through a passage, until they finally stopped at a room. His recording room. Oregon has been keeping a record of everything since day one. He knew that there’s a slight chance that Adrik wouldn’t believe him, so that’s why he had backed up evidence.
He pressed upon a button, as a video started playing on the huge flat screen on the wall. He said nothing but looked at Adrik who watched the first day Lucifer had approached him about having a son.
He told Oregon about his plans bringing him to the underworld, but he just wasn’t ready to face him. So they orchestrated his death by possessing Alex to pull the trigger on him.
Adrik nearly lost his footing as he watched his father, Lucifer, stood aside when Alex shot at him, while his father shot at Polina too.
He was all behind it.
His father killed him.
This isn’t Alex nor Jason’s fault, but Lucifer’s.
"He k..killed me." He said, looking up at Oregon, who sighed before saying." You weren’t dead Adrik. You weren’t a ghost. Nothing could kill you on earth, not even your father because you are the chosen one by the prophecy.``
"Shut up!" Adrik shouted. He was sick and tired hearing everyone talk about the prophecy. Who knows if Lucifer forged that up just so he could bring him to hell with him, yes?
"He wasn’t prepared yet for you because Narika hasn’t been found then. So, he kept you with your mother, who thought he shed all ties he had with you guys."
"Then what about Polina? She was innocent."
"There are casualties while playing a game, Adrik. Your father knew that Polina being with you would distract you from finding the rightful one for you. Even without him doing that, the prophecy would separate you both."
"But she deserved to live." Adrik still vouched for her, even though she was dead because of him. He wouldn’t forgive himself for what he had caused her.
"About that..." Oregon said, pausing a bit as he wasn’t sure it was the right thing to tell him this. " Actually, Polina isn’t dead. She’s alive, but Lucifer has locked her soul."
"I don’t understand, why would he lock her soul? She’s innocent, so why would he still torture her?" Adrik demanded.
Lucifer was one crazy psychopath, and everything is just revealing itself right now; it didn’t paint him out to be any good man. It was an insult to his ego that he was the son of someone so corrupt and evil.
"I don’t know Son, you would have to find that out by yourself but i just want to warn you, Adrik. Lucifer is a selfish being. He doesn’t care about anyone but only himself so I must warn you not to trust him."
"And what about you?" Adrik threw the question back at him. " How sure am i that i can trust you too?"
Oregon smiled.
Yeah, he deserved that.
"Well, at least i’m not the one planning on getting rid of Narika once her powers emerge."
"What do you mean by that?" Africa brow quaked at his words. Was Narika in danger?
"Your father is planning on letting Baram take full control of Narika’s body. As you know, Narika is nothing but a vessel for her to use but that doesn’t mean that she is still not a human of her own." Oregon paused, before coming closer to place his hands on his shoulder.
"You will be forced to give your father what he wants, because you have no other choice. It’s your duty as his son and as the chosen one. But i must warn you, Lucifer doesn’t relish in someone else taking away his fame and glory, so i must advise you to be careful."
Oregon said lastly, before leaving Adrik to wonder where exactly was his next step, because he was still confused about what he just heard and saw.
But the most important thing, he grabbed from what Oregon said was the part where his father is dangerous, and Narika needs him more than ever.
She’s innocent, just like Polina and the rest.
But he wouldn’t watch his father ruin her life because of his selfish desire for power, he’s going to save his mate.
