Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 116 - One Hundred And Sixteen: A line Between Their Relationship.
The Underworld.
Lucifer’s palace,Hell.
~~~
"You know this isn’t right, Lucifer?" Erin, one of Lucifer’s close friends who were not scared of talking to him, disses his own opinion about Lucifer’s plan, which involved his son, Adrik not knowing about his father’s true intentions towards his mate.
"Remind me, Erin. Since when do you start judging about what’s right or not?" Lucifer said, his jaw clenching at the thoughts of his friend trying to tell him of the consequences his actions would cost him.
Yeah.
There were plans to infiltrate Crystal palace tomorrow night, and it only didn’t stop at that. Lucifer has connived with the mage incharge to work up a portion that would trigger Narika’s power tomorrow, since it was very clear to him that Baram wasn’t out yet.
It pissed him off deeply knowing this, since she was wasting his time to do exactly what their plans were years ago, before she was sentenced to her death only to reincarnate through one of her bloodlines.
"The most important thing right here is to get Baram, taking over her body but i could say Narika is one strong fellow, to have kept Baram inactive for a long time." Lucifer said, as he looked away from Erin to glance at the mages that were doing their duty preparing the portion that he had ordered for tomorrow. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
His men were ready. They all didn’t care that there’s a possibility that they wouldn’t be coming back in one piece tomorrow, nor did they care that they could die. All they needed was their liberation, which was Narika.
He wouldn’t leave without having the girl with him, and there’s the big question Erin has been asking him, about Adrik having any idea about what he wanted to do with Narika.
It was forbidden to get rid of her soul permanently, while trying to get Baram to take over her body permanently. But Lucifer knew that he might be heartbroken for a while if he finds out, but that’s the price to pay for what she is.
Besides, if he loved his life and that of his mother. He would do well to shut his mouth, and wave a blank eye to whatever he’s doing. That is his duty as his son. A good son would obey his father, and not choose him over anything. Including if it has to do with a woman.
"What do you think Adrik would do once he finds out..." Erin, a higher ranked Soldier in his army, still tried to have him change his mind. Lucifer was changing and it’s not for good.
Things weren’t like this many years ago, when he was mourning the loss of his son on earth, he was sad that he had neglected him further to have allowed a mere human to take him away from his mother.
But from the way Lucifer was taking Adrik, and Narika’s case seriously. He has started to suspect that there was more to him just trying to let Baram take over the girl’s body.
"Adrik would do nothing but follow my plans. He has no other option than to do as i say if he still wants to see her."
"Baram is quite old for him, Lucifer. We can still win this war without having to involve Baram directly. The girl already has her power and..."
Lucifer seethed at his words, that it didn’t occur to anyone that there would come a day when Erin would prove to be such a relationship counselor.
"I still don’t know why you think this is about Adrik falling in love or something. Erin, no son of mine would be whipped by some pussy, they should learn from their father."
Lucifer took pride in his Casanova lifestyle. But it didn’t occur to him that he was saying this out of spite, because he didn’t have the chance to experience that special feeling called love.
"Yeah, the father who couldn’t keep his balls in tight, and is the reason for this war in the first place." Erin muttered to himself, but he had forgotten so soon that Lucifer had sharp hearings, so before he could understand what he had done.
Lucifer had slammed him to the wall, and had his hand wrapped around his throat while his red eyes shot up at him in anger.
"What i take pride in is respect, Erin. I don’t care what relationship we have with Erin. But you would not disrespect me, is that clear?"
"Respect goes both ways, Lucifer. I’m just watching out for you!" Erin roared, knocking his hands off him before covering the space between them, his anger getting hold of him but he held it in because they had company, and Lucifer would kill the mages present if he did anything stupid by punching him in front of them.
"Well thank you. I highly appreciate your concern for me, but i must warn you, Erin. Don’t try to speak to my children about this. Stay away from them, especially Adrik. I won’t be lenient next time." Lucifer told him, sounding serious this time around, that it was embedded in Erin’s brain that he had had enough of their discussion.
"Fine. I would stay away from him. But i must caution you about this step you are about to take. It won’t turn out good for you, dear friend." Erin said lastly, tugging at his black cloak and attempting to leave but the door was opened and in walked some man.
He didn’t look like he was a demon, nor an angel who worked in Crystal palace. But the look Lucifer sent towards him was enough for Erin, to know that something was going on.
Something he had no idea about, but that’s none of his business. At this point, Lucifer had drawn a line between their friendship. So without saying much, he left.
"My Lord." Tegan greeted.
"You couldn’t wait for the night to be over. What if they suspect your movement, you fool!" Lucifer shouted at the spy he had implanted in Crystal palace.
"I’m sorry my Lord, but i couldn’t wait. It was urgent."
"Did something happen to the girl?" Lucifer asked worriedly. He hoped that he wouldn’t be too late for the breaking in tomorrow.
"A ritual cleansing is to be conducted tomorrow to separate Baram’s soul from the girl’s." Tegan said, and watched the way Lucifer’s jaw tightened at his words.
He had thought that Baram had probably died in there somehow, but now hearing that she’s out gave him some kind of relief but the ritual cleansing?
No!
That’s definitely not going to happen.
Not on his watch.
"Amos!" He called for his army general, they can’t lose this fight tomorrow. Baram is his, no one else.
