Chapter 145: Chapter One Hundred And Forty-Five:She’s Alive.

Adrik has successfully taken Narika to a small village, in the underworld where not many people were able to identify him. He still hasn’t gotten over the heartbreak that followed with him carrying his dead mate, and he wasn’t able to do anything to save her.

Well, while here in the little village of Sekè he was able to notice that their way of life was quite different from the many dimensiones that existed in here. The village housed many creatures that he wasn’t able to identify because he was far more interested in getting Narika to a safe place, and getting her a doctor immediately.

She’s not dead yet.

He affirmed.

There’s no way he could leave, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to see those charming brown orbs of hers that have started to see him in a different light, since after she has run away from home.

They were growing on each other, and had it been that they weren’t separated all of this wouldn’t have happened. She won’t be stuck as the lowly human who didn’t know what sort of power she had, and had to endure getting walked upon by almost every useless person that crossed her path.

At least if she was with him, he would have helped her with her powers and considering what people said they were, if that was the truth. Then together, they would be unstoppable.

"How may i help you?" A girl asked him when he stopped in front of the counter, having entered into the inn he found not long after he had entered the village.

He has been able to attract enough attention to himself, even as he was standing here. He still noticed the looks he was getting from everyone, but that didn’t matter as long as it just ended with him getting scrutinized by their gazes, rather than them pushing their luck to see their death.

"I would like to pay for a room." He said before dipping his hands into his pocket and brought out the finest piece of gold he had with him, that earned a surprised gasp from the girl.

"That’s..that would be ten grams, I dont have the right equipment to measure..."The young girl who was an elf tried to explain to him. But he cut into her words since she was wasting his time.

"You can have it."

"Really?" Her eyes shined in delight, while Adrik nodded his head before she went in and came out with a key." Here, room five, sir." She said, as Adrian tried collecting the key that made the young girl notice Narika in his arms. " Do you need a doctor for your wife? She looks... sick."

Adrik had to look at her one more time, as it doesn’t make any sense to him that she was being this kind. Ever since he met his father, he understood that kindness was out of the world and evil had taken over.

"I..." He tried declining her help.

"My mother is a physician, and she’s popular around the area,Mr...." She drawled.

"Austin, and yes. I would really appreciate your mother’s help." Adrik told her, before she instructed him to be up in their room while she went to call her mother.

Just like the young lady had told him, he received a knock after a while he settled down in the inn. It wasn’t that bad, and he figured out that it was the expensive one after he had given the girl the gold he had with him.

After placing Narika on the bed, he opened the door to meet the girl and her mother who didn’t look as burbly as the young lady, who was a chatterbox.

"Hello, Mr.Austin. this is mother, I had to tell her about your wife and your generosity and .."

"Laila, that’s enough." Her mother cut her short, to which she giggled while her mother turned to face Adrik.

"I haven’t seen your face around here, rumors had it that a demon is in town.* Barbara said without any fear of him hurting her, it’s rare to find demons settling amongst them since they considered their kind to be troublesome.

"I mean no harm. We was attacked on my way traveling south. All i need is a doctor to save my wife." Adrik lied, well at least he meant it when he said that he meant no harm.

"Can i see your wife?" Barbara demanded, to which he moved away from the door for her and Laila to walk in.

The old lady settled down beside Narika, before her hands moved up to notice the slash around her neck. A gasp left Laila’s lips when she saw Narika’s neck.

"She’s not human?’’Barbara knew that she wasn’t human, but she still wanted to confirm that truly Adrik wasn’t a trafficker, and was lying about her being his wife.

"No, she’s a witch. She still hasn’t assumed her powers yet. I can say that’s why she’s still dea...sleeping. " Adrik refuses to say that she’s dead. He still didn’t know if truly Barbara would be able to wake her up, and if Baram wouldn’t be the one to wake up and not her.

Barbara said nothing else, before she took Narika’s right hand into her own and closed her eyes. She started mumbling some words that Adrik wasn’t familiar with.

"Don’t worry, she will be okay. My mother is the head physician around here." Laila said with a smile, calming his mind about her mother doing something else to Narika.

So, he looked back to see what she’s doing, the wind starting to get crazy as everything in the room was shaking. He looked back at Laila to find her calm so he tried to stay calm until the rumbling settled down, and Narika woked up with a gasp.

"Noo!!" She shouted and sat up with a jerk.

"Narika!" Adrik made his way to her, as she looked him up and down for a brief second, then to Laila and Barbara.

" W.. where are..." she tried to talk, but found it difficult.

"Her voice would be back after some few days, but i would recommend she rests and eats healthily to replenish the lost blood." Barbara advised him as he nodded his head, while cupping Marika’s cheeks in his hand to observe her face.

"Thank you,.."

"The name is Barbara and you are welcome to sekè, Austin. Your wife is beautiful." She complimented Narika with a smile.

Narika’s eyes widened at hearing her call her wife, but Adrik noticed that immediately and hugged her just to calm her down from acting up. He would explain things better, the important thing here is, she’s alive and she’s definitely not leaving his sight for any moment.

"Thank you, Barbara."

"It’s a pleasure, Austin."
