Naruto: Shinobi Payday-Chapter 46: Itachi Who?
Chapter 46 - 46: Itachi Who?
The Horse Talisman glowed faintly in Zeldris's hand, pulsing like a heartbeat made of pure hacks.
He grinned. Not the polite kind either—this was the grin of a man who just got cheat codes mid-game.
"Didn't think something this busted actually existed..." he muttered.
The Horse Talisman. Regeneration on command. With this, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit wouldn't tear him apart every time he flexed it.
He could finally punch mountains without needing a chiropractor afterward.
Pocketing the talisman like it was precious loot—and it was—Zeldris turned back to the system's illusory interface floating before him.
The roulette wheel shimmered, practically begging to be spun.
"Alright, let's keep the luck rolling," he said, cracking his knuckles.
Ding!
Rewards are being drawn...
The wheel spun violently, icons flashing by—blades, scrolls, fruits, weird glowing eyeballs—until finally, it began to slow.
Zeldris leaned in, squinting like he could will it to land on something broken.
Ding!
Congratulations! You've received: Demon Eye!
Zeldris blinked.
"...Wait. That Demon Eye?"
He stared at the reward, the grin spreading across his face like wildfire.
"No way... it finally showed up."
The same "Demon Eye" that made entire bloodlines obsolete? Yeah. That one.
The system chimed again, as polite as ever:
Fusion initiated. Begin integration?
"Please," Zeldris said, already bracing for the usual cosmic migraine.
The process hit him like a truck full of sensory upgrades. His vision sharpened beyond human limits—he could see everything. Dust particles. Chakra veins.
Sasori's sandal prints from four hours ago. Probably some poor fly regretting its life choices on a nearby rock.
And the best part?
Genjutsu immunity.
His mind immediately went to him. Mister
"look into my eyes and enjoy your trauma flashbacks."
Zeldris chuckled.
"Sorry, Itachi... but I'm officially out of your league now."
He waved a hand.
"System. Panel."
The transparent interface returned.
Host: Zeldris
Wealth Value: 350
Remaining Draws: 3
Rewards Obtained: Tremor-Tremor Fruit, Horse Talisman, Demon Eye
"Not bad. Destruction, immortality, anti-Uchiha insurance," he said, nodding.
"Just need a coffee-maker and I'm basically unstoppable."
He reached toward the wheel again, confidence high.
Ding!
Congratulations! You've received: Great Fireball Jutsu
Zeldris paused.
"...You've got to be kidding me."
He stared at the prize like it was a prank.
"I paid ten million ryo for something every Uchiha toddler gets before their first kunai?"
A dry laugh escaped.
"Well. Can't all be game-breakers."
Still, he was too deep into the gacha rabbit hole to stop now.
Next spin.
Ding!
Congratulations! You've received: Special Golden Shuriken
This time, the item materialized in his hand. Elegant. Balanced. Gleaming like treasure.
"...A shiny throwing star. Wow."
He tossed it up, caught it, sighed.
"Perfect for... dramatic posing. Or stabbing people who annoy me."
And finally—
Last draw.
He didn't speak this time. Just pressed the option and let fate handle the drama.
The wheel spun like mad before slowing...
Ding!
Congratulations! You've received: One of the Eight Miracles – Divine Mechanism of Magic Machines!
Zeldris arched an eyebrow.
"Now that sounds important."
Before he could dive into the description, the familiar sound of sandals-on-sand echoed behind him.
Sasori had returned, probably expecting a tactical update. Instead, Zeldris turned to him with the kind of smirk that usually precedes major property damage.
Without a word, he snapped his fingers. A black scroll appeared in his hand.
He casually tossed it to Sasori.
Sasori caught it, glanced at the markings, then at Zeldris.
"...What's this?"
"Your next evolution," Zeldris replied.
Sasori's eyes narrowed.
"I'm pursuing eternal Art."
Zeldris gestured to the scroll.
"Yeah, but this? This is post-eternal. Transcendent eternal. Quantum puppet master territory."
Sasori remained suspicious.
"It's called..." Zeldris paused for effect, then said dramatically:
"The Divine Mechanism of Magic Machines."
Silence.
Sasori stared at the scroll.
"...That sounds fake."
Zeldris shrugged. "So does most of what we do. Doesn't make it any less deadly."
Sasori unrolled the scroll slightly, chakra pulsing faintly from the seals.
Zeldris smirked.
"Come on, puppet man. You're always preaching about eternal art. Let's give it some divine upgrades."
Sasori said nothing.
But as he turned away, scroll in hand, Zeldris saw it.
