Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: The Battle Ends
"Ahhh!"
A bloodcurdling scream echoed as the Kazekage plummeted from the sky.
The iron sand defense surrounding him had been shattered by the combined might of the Three Guardian Deities. In that instant, Jiraiya formed a Rasengan and drove it straight into the Kazekage's chest.
"Adamantine Prison Wall!"
As the Kazekage crashed to the ground, Hiruzen Sarutobi wasted no time, unleashing his strongest binding technique. His Enma Staff extended and split into dozens of rods, stabbing into the ground around the fallen Kazekage and interlocking into a cage. In mere moments, the Kazekage was trapped.
Once formed, the Adamantine Prison Wall was nearly impossible to break from the inside.
The Kazekage was at their mercy. Blood trickled from his lips, and his chest was sunken where the Rasengan had struck.
Though high-level shinobi had formidable endurance, the Kazekage lacked advanced healing abilities. A direct hit like that left him critically wounded.
"Sage Art: Goemon!"
Jiraiya summoned two shadow clones and, together with his main body, unleashed Mount Myōboku's most devastating Fire Release technique. Torrents of scorching oil and flames surged forward, engulfing the Adamantine Prison Wall.
The Kazekage's agonized screams filled the air as he desperately tried to summon his iron sand for protection. But against the overwhelming heat, the sand melted into molten iron, offering no defense.
The searing flames first scorched his skin, then burned through flesh and bone. Within moments, the Kazekage was reduced to nothing but ash.
He was the fourth Kage-level opponent to fall to Jiraiya.
Dismissing his Guardian Deities, Jiraiya exhaled. Regular Kage-level opponents no longer posed a threat to him. He had truly reached the power needed to unite the ninja world.
Nearby, Enma groaned in pain, his sturdy form scorched by the flames. But with his adamantine body, his injuries were nothing compared to the Kazekage's fate.
"Jiraiya," Enma winced, baring his fangs. "Next time we fight together, give me a damn warning before you unleash something like that. I nearly got roasted alive!" freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Jiraiya nodded in acknowledgment.
Hiruzen, however, remained frozen in place. In such a short time, Jiraiya had killed a Tailed Beast and taken down the Kazekage. The sheer power he displayed far surpassed Hiruzen's understanding of him.
At that moment, Sarutobi Hiruzen realized—his era was over.
...
"The Kazekage is dead... we're finished."
"Not just us... the entire Land of Wind is doomed."
"Without our Tailed Beast... without our Kazekage... the Fire Nation will invade. How can we possibly stop them?"
Despair consumed the Sunagakure shinobi. Some fell to their knees, weeping, while others stood in stunned silence, unable to process their loss.
Their morale shattered, the remaining Sand shinobi were swiftly eliminated by the Fire Nation's forces—none were spared.
Meanwhile, Uzumaki Mito had already taken down one of Iwagakure's elite jōnin.
Even in her old age, wrapped in the chakra cloak of a Tailed Beast, her strength remained overwhelming. If not for the decline in her physical vitality, she wouldn't even need the cloak—her Uzumaki clan's secret techniques alone would have been enough to annihilate them.
"Finish off the remaining Iwagakure jōnin," Jiraiya ordered.
Hiruzen nodded and, alongside Enma, rushed to assist Mito. Soon, the elite Iwagakure shinobi were all slain.
With the battle over, Jiraiya pulled out his Soul Vessel and began absorbing the souls of the fallen elite shinobi.
This battle had been an enormous success.
Not only had Jiraiya obtained the Four-Tails' power, but he had also crippled the strength of both the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth, and gathered numerous high-level souls for himself.
After this war, his power would rise yet another level.
"I've made such a commotion... Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu must have noticed by now." Jiraiya mused. "I wonder when they'll finally show themselves."
If he truly intended to unify the ninja world, it was impossible for Madara and Black Zetsu to ignore him.
In essence, the entire story of Naruto revolved around Black Zetsu's plan to revive his mother.
At this moment, Madara had likely already fallen under Black Zetsu's manipulation, orchestrating his schemes from the shadows.
But Jiraiya would never let their plan succeed.
Madara's eventual death was still some time away. In the original timeline, his only recorded action during the Second Ninja War was transplanting his Rinnegan into a young Nagato.
However, with Jiraiya's interference, events had shifted dramatically. The war for Amegakure had been won in record time.
Jiraiya had no way of knowing if Madara had already implanted his Rinnegan into Nagato.
Nor did he know where Madara and Black Zetsu were hiding.
For now, he would wait for them to reveal themselves.
...
With all enemies exterminated, Jiraiya ordered his troops to clean up the battlefield before leading the remaining forces back to the village.
It was a decisive victory.
On Konoha's side, only three shinobi had died, and only a dozen suffered injuries—none of them serious.
"Grandmother, how much longer can you hold on?"
Back in the village, Jiraiya turned to Uzumaki Mito.
"Six months at most," Mito replied.
"Then I'll extract the Nine-Tails in half a year," Jiraiya said.
He had great respect for Mito.
The destruction of Uzushio had led to the slaughter of countless Uzumaki clan members. Even Konoha had played a role in its downfall.
Yet despite this, Mito had never turned against Konoha or unleashed the Nine-Tails in vengeance.
Mito simply nodded and returned to the Senju compound.
...
"What do you plan to do with the Four-Tails?" Hiruzen asked once they reached the Hokage's office.
"I'm sealing it inside myself," Jiraiya said without hesitation.
Hiruzen frowned. "You still plan to take the Nine-Tails later. And now you want to seal the Four-Tails in your body, too—"
"That's not your concern," Jiraiya interrupted. "I know what I'm doing."
His body was more than capable of housing all the Tailed Beasts.
Hiruzen sighed but said nothing more.
"Gather the army," Jiraiya commanded. "Once the war in Amegakure is over, we march on the Land of Wind."
Now that the Kazekage was dead and Sunagakure had lost its most powerful shinobi, the nation was in disarray. Fear and uncertainty gripped their forces.
It was the perfect time to strike.
Jiraiya wasn't about to waste this opportunity.
