Naruto: Unlocking Kaido Template-Chapter 173
Chapter 173 - 173
"Finally found it." Aburame Hatsuizumi adjusted her glasses, a slight smile curling the corners of her lips. Her long hair was tied into a single ponytail.
"Just when one swift swordsman leaves, another shows up?" Hidan scratched his head. Where the hell were these people coming from? Why did they all seem to have beef with him? Were they just gonna keep popping up to annoy the crap outta him?
Hatsuizumi remembered what Zixu had said: once hostility was confirmed, killing Hidan—or whoever was on the other side—was basic protocol. Find the target alive or drag back the corpse. If you don't rip the weeds out at the root, they'll sprout again come spring.
She didn't feel like wasting her breath on these two. A violet shadow appeared in her eyes as her petite frame rapidly transformed. Her shirt shrank into a cropped top, and her pants shortened into capris.
She snapped her fingers. The Insect armor wrapped around her, and she gripped Shigure at her waist. Various auras shimmered on the blade, and a swarm of bugs surged forward.
She ignored Guren, who was still carrying the crystallized Yukimaru on her back. In her opinion, this was a solo job.
Hatsuizumi slashed at Hidan. Sword energy formed from bugs, followed by the swarm itself, lunging at him.
Hidan didn't even dodge. He just stood there, waiting for her strike. His ritual was done; hitting him now meant damaging the Three-Tails. He was actually hoping she'd go hard.
Unfortunately for him, her sword didn't land on his body. It hit the carved symbol under his feet instead.
"Shit!" Hidan leapt back. With the curse seal broken, the damage link was gone. If he took another hit, he'd be eating all that pain himself—and he hated pain.
In the distance, the restrained Three-Tails sensed the loosening chakra and began struggling again, trying to break Tobi seal.
A Fei stood his ground, sweating as he fought to maintain the seal. But it didn't last—the beast broke free.
Hatsuizumi didn't know squat about sealing techniques, so she went for the brute-force route. If they wanted the Three-Tails, then she'd just eat it herself.
After forcing Hidan back with a single sword swing, the small bugs tangled him up. Even though there weren't many, they were annoying as hell—melee scythes, ranged poisons, smoke bombs, suicide charges. Unless you had massive area jutsu, they were a nightmare.
Not enough? Fine. She snapped again, summoning a horde of Burrower Bugs. They swarmed Hidan like starving demons. Could he handle it? Who knows.
Then she turned to the frenzied Three-Tails. Tobi had already bailed. Oddly, he didn't stop her.
"Huh? Doesn't it have three tails? Why does it look like it only has two?" she muttered. Maybe tailed beasts had shedding phases or something.
The Three-Tails stared at her floating in the air, then charged.
Its spiked shell shattered, and dozens of mini Three-Tails spilled out, about the size of puppies or kittens. Their shells were dense and bristling. They looked every bit as terrifying as Hatsuizumi's swarm.
The mini-beasts rolled up into thorny wheels and spun forward like murder tires.
"Heh... trying to play swarm tactics with me? Great, bring it on!"
"Hoshifuu Mushi (Star Mark Bug), Gekkou Mushi (Moonlight Bug), Getsuei Mushi (Moon Shadow Bug), and Antou Mushi (Burrow Bug)... You're up!" Hatsuizumi threw out four unique bugs blessed by senjutsu chakra—her elite squad.
Antou Mushi looked like a hermit crab with a massive rock shell. The moment it landed, it built a platform with frightening speed, assisted by her Doton (Earth Release) ninjutsu. It transformed the battlefield.
The rest formed her killer combo: "Hoshifuu-Getsuei (Star Mark Moon Shadow)." The Gekkou Mushi launched deadly moon blades, with the Star Mark and Moon Shadow Bugs supporting. The Gekkou had evolved—its moon blades could split on impact, and the others improved range, penetration, and attack density.
The mini Three-Tails tried their best, spinning and smashing, but they had no chakra-enhanced jutsu and no water source nearby. Tobi and Hidan had picked a dry battlefield.
At first, the mini-beasts' shells held. But Hatsuizumi's moon blades started splitting endlessly, the damage stacking until the first mini-beast dropped.
Soon, silver blades filled the air. Tobi, despite his phasing ability, couldn't even materialize inside the blade zone. There was no safe zone.
"So weak..." Hatsuizumi muttered. Disappointment colored her tone. This was supposed to be a tailed beast? A world-ending nuke? This dumbass couldn't scare a toddler.
Bored, she released the bugs she stole from Aburame Shino.
"Infinite evolution, huh? Go eat the Three-Tails. Let's see what you can become."
Her swarm caught the scent of chakra and instantly descended upon the Three-Tails' wounds.
The beast howled in pain. It had never suffered this kind of humiliation.
The Three-Tails opened its mouth wide. A black and purple orb began forming. The chakra density radiating from it was insane—like a natural disaster waiting to pop.
"Bijūdama (Tailed Beast Bomb)..." Tobi whispered from afar. He'd been waiting for this moment.
"Now this is a tailed beast," Hatsuizumi grinned, eyes glowing scarlet. She slipped off her glasses, her smile twisted and manic.
She shot toward the Three-Tails as it charged the bomb, jamming Shigure into its visor.
"So this is the Bijūdama? Looks like charcoal. Doesn't look tasty."
She was less than a meter away from it.
"Thanks for the meal~"
The Three-Tails didn't know what the hell this lunatic was planning, but whatever—she was going to die anyway.
