Naruto: Unlocking Kaido Template-Chapter 184
Chapter 184 - 184
A huge purple head emerged from the ground. This grotesque creature opened its massive mouth, which took up half of its body. Its tongue, as wide as a grown man's palm, swept up a nearly decomposed corpse from the ground. The sound of crunching bones echoed as it chewed, and when it finally spit it out, the body was fully restored, looking just like it did before death.
The body of Pain, which had been crushed by Utakata, stood once again behind Tendo Pain. Utakata limbs were pinned to the ground by black chakra rods, immobilizing him. He could only gasp heavily, unable to resist.
"The Six-Tails has been captured. Itachi is handling the Four-Tails. Our next target... is the Nine-Tails." Tendo Pain coldly stated before knocking Utakata unconscious and dragging him away.
Meanwhile, within the Akatsuki base, Hidan had found Orochimaru, carrying pieces of his own limbs. Kakuzu had been captured, and Orochimaru was the only one left in Akatsuki skilled in this kind of dark medical ninjutsu.
Hidan examined his stitched-up arm, surprised by Orochimaru's craftsmanship. It was even better than Kakuzu's work.
"Damn, I didn't know you had skills like this. How'd you even do it? It feels like a brand-new arm," Hidan said, flexing his fingers. It was fully functional and responsive.
Still, something felt off. When he had returned, he had passed out from overusing his powers and didn't remember what had happened afterward.
"As long as you're happy, test it out. See if it works for you," Orochimaru replied, his back turned, working on something. The sharp grinding sound echoed from his hands.
"Yeah, but what the hell are you doing over there? Sounds creepy as shit," Hidan muttered, feeling uneasy.
Orochimaru turned around with a casual grin, hands raised. "Nothing sinister. You're all patched up now. You can go."
But Hidan's sharp eyes caught something strange—Orochimaru had briefly held a pair of black-and-white knuckles. Whatever it was had disappeared quickly, but beneath the grinder-like machine sat a sack of black and white powder that looked suspiciously like bone meal.
Hidan froze. He glanced down at his arm again. As good as it was, something didn't sit right.
"Wait... did you grind my original arm into powder?!" Hidan shouted, disbelief plastered across his face.
"That's not important. What's important is that your arm works, and now it contains power beyond what you had before. It's progress," Orochimaru said dismissively. To him, Hidan was just another unwilling volunteer in the name of science.
"Power?" Hidan scoffed, clenching his new arm. He didn't feel any different.
But when he poured chakra into the limb, something bizarre happened. His arm began to morph—bones twisted, dislocated, and strange black and white patterns surfaced. Then, a grotesque zebra-like head sprouted from the arm. The striped horse face stared at Hidan with bulging eyes.
"What the actual fuck is this?!" Hidan screamed, horrified.
"Ah, looks like the experiment was semi-successful. Judging by the result, it fused with a base animal species. It has its own consciousness. If I enhance the next generation with the black powder, it might even gain partial immortality," Orochimaru mumbled while jotting notes, completely ignoring Hidan's outrage.
The zebra head seemed just as disgusted by Hidan and even spat at him.
"Look at the bright side. It's like being a half-tailed beast. You're now a partial zebra Jinchuriki. Get along with it," Orochimaru said nonchalantly before walking away.
Left in disbelief, Hidan roared in frustration as Orochimaru exited the room.
In an underground laboratory, Orochimaru observed a red-haired young man floating in a glass tank. He added a pinch of the powder—what was left of Hidan's original arm—into a chemical solution. The clear blue-green liquid darkened instantly, spreading like ink in water. The young man's expression twisted in pain.
Orochimaru quickly stopped the injection, tapping rapidly on the machine's controls. The solution calmed again, and faint black-and-white lines began forming on the subject's skin.
He wiped sweat from his brow, sealed the lab, and moved on.
In another chamber, Orochimaru retrieved a special reagent and stood face to face with a vortex-masked man—Uchiha Obito, also known as Tobi.
Gone was the playful tone. Obito stood silent, somber.
"Here's the thing. With this, you can mass-produce Devil Fruit users. Results may vary, but with White Zetsu as the base, there shouldn't be a problem," Orochimaru said, tossing the vial. Obito caught it effortlessly.
"Have you thought this through?" Obito asked, his voice deep and melancholic.
"War? I have no interest. But understand this—if you want to act, Pain has to go. Uchiha Itachi won't allow a war under his watch," Orochimaru responded flatly before walking away.
Obito's body spiraled into his dimensional vortex, vanishing.
As he left, Orochimaru chuckled to himself.
"War is just a means to an end. Obito... you're still too naive. Don't get yourself sold and then help count the damn coins."
Elsewhere, Konoha ninjas were withdrawing from the Land of Whirlpools. Before parting, Jiraiya warned Zixu to watch out for the Rain Village—rumors indicated Akatsuki's base was likely hidden there, and their tailed beast hunts were accelerating.
Zixu nodded, clapped Jiraiya on the shoulder, and handed him a small snake.
"If you find Akatsuki, let me know. I'll back you up."
Jiraiya accepted the snake and headed out.
"See you next time."
"Yeah... see you next time."
