Chapter 352 - 352: Akatsuki’s Hidden Village

Konohagakure, Hokage Building.

"Lady Hokage, there's a new update," Shōta said with a slight smirk, glancing at the document in front of him.

"What is it?" Tsunade, feeling a bit fatigued, set down her pen and looked up at him.

"The Land of Rain has established a new ninja village— Akatsukigakure."

Shōta tossed the document toward her, and Tsunade caught it effortlessly.

"The news is a bit late," she remarked, an almost imperceptible smile forming on her lips—a subtle reproach for the delay in receiving information.

Tsunade already knew about Yahiko's plans to create a new ninja village. On the night the Land of Rain was unified, Yahiko and his companions had communicated with Katsuyu to other key figures to share their intentions. However, she hadn't expected them to act so quickly; it had barely been a week since then.

"Haha~ That's right, I'm being nosy," Shōta admitted sheepishly, realizing Tsunade would never have been left unaware of such developments.

"They're doing a good job. If they need any supplies, make sure they're delivered quietly," Tsunade instructed. She understood the hardships the Land of Rain had faced for years and knew that Yahiko and his group would need significant resources to rebuild their nation.

"No problem, leave it to me," Shōta agreed easily. He was confident that Yahiko and the others would remain loyal to Konoha. From a practical standpoint, this was a worthwhile investment even without personal sentiment.

"I'm exhausted. I'm going for a walk," Tsunade said as she stood, stretched her neck, and headed for the door.

"You take care."

Shōta could guess where Tsunade was headed, but chose not to say anything. She was obviously pleased, though she didn't show it openly. Women... he thought, shaking his head in bemusement. No wonder he was still single. With a sigh, Shōta returned to his work.

Tsunade left the Hokage Building with a clear destination in mind: the Ninja Academy. Her steps were light, her smile unwavering. Along the way, she greeted numerous villagers, and by the time she arrived at the Academy gates, her mood was radiant.

The guard on duty immediately approached and opened the gate. "Lady Hokage, what brings you here?" His voice was so loud that everyone in the vicinity became aware of her arrival.

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Why are you shouting like that? Is the principal here?" She wasn't here for an inspection and saw no need for such a dramatic announcement.

"Yes, Lord Kawakaze hasn't left the school gates," the guard said with confidence. He, of course, had no idea if Kawakaze might have left another way but assumed as much.

"Okay, you go back to your work," Tsunade replied, clearly not placing much stock in his answer. It wouldn't be surprising if Kawakaze was elsewhere; she could understand if the principal found it hard to sit still.

"Okay," the guard said before returning to his post.

Tsunade strolled leisurely toward the principal's office. On her way, she came across Kakashi's class engaged in a practical combat lesson. The three groups were locked in fierce battle—Kakashi, Kurenai, and Guywere facing off against Rin, Asuma, and Obito.

Even in the middle of the fight, Kakashi managed to wink cheekily at his aunt, clearly relishing his team's advantage. Tsunade paused for a while, observing.

She shook her head. There was no teamwork whatsoever—just three separate one-on-one skirmishes.

"What are you fighting for? Are you supposed to fight alone? You are a team, and you need to cooperate. Understand? Cooperation!"

Osamu Suzuki roared, his voice echoing across the training grounds. His spit nearly hit the faces of the six students as he berated them. The entire purpose of arranging three-person battles was to foster teamwork. However, with the exception of Obito and Rin, the six participants had such dominant personal styles that any sense of cooperation was entirely absent.

"Understood," the six replied in unison, their voices subdued. A small but noticeable shift in their approach followed.

By this time, Tsunade had reached the door of the principal's office. Without bothering to knock, she pushed the door open.

"Why are you here?" Kawakaze asked, standing up from his seat with feigned surprise. In truth, he had seen Tsunade approaching earlier and had been watching Kakashi and the others spar from the window.

"I came to check on my busy husband," Tsunade replied, her tone laced with mockery. While she was working tirelessly, this guy seemed completely carefree.

"My dear wife, you've worked hard," Kawakaze said, walking up to her and placing his hands on her shoulders. Gently, he pushed her into the boss's chair and began massaging her neck and shoulders.

"That's it, a little harder," Tsunade murmured, closing her eyes as she allowed herself a rare moment of relaxation. The tension in her body eased as she let go of her stress.

It wasn't long before Kawakaze started getting playful.

"Where are you touching me? This is the Academy!" Tsunade snapped, her eyes flying open as she pushed his hands away and glared at him. Shameless!

"It's just habit!" Kawakaze apologized with a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his head. He really couldn't help himself sometimes.

"Okay, don't press it anymore. Do you want to hear some good news?" Tsunade said, sitting back in the chair and spinning it to face Kawakaze.

"What, are you pregnant?" Kawakaze asked, his eyes lighting up with excitement. Could it be that he was about to become a father again?

"What are you thinking? I told you no more kids for now," Tsunade said, rolling her eyes. One Ginji was already enough to deal with. The thought of another child—especially another troublemaker—was far from appealing.

"So, what's the matter?" Kawakaze asked, his enthusiasm fading slightly. Still, a part of him couldn't help but cling to the thought of having another daughter. A son and a daughter—together, they make a perfect balance, he thought wistfully.

"Yahiko and the others have already established the new ninja village. And your disciple has become the Kage," Tsunade said directly, her gaze fixed on Kawakaze, unblinking.

"He's truly worthy of being my disciple, hahaha!" Kawakaze exclaimed, crossing his arms and throwing his head back in an exaggerated, self-satisfied laugh. His smugness was unmistakable—a sharp contrast to Tsunade's composed reaction when she received the same news.

"Yes, it is all your doing," Tsunade remarked sarcastically, her voice dripping with mockery. As much as Kawakaze liked to take credit, how much had he actually contributed? Aside from bringing Yahiko and the others to Konoha, his involvement had been minimal at best.

"I dare not take the credit. You played a part in this," Kawakaze said, quickly reigning in his attitude and choosing a more sensible response.

"You're right," Tsunade replied, pride shining through her tone. After all, Nagato's incredible progress couldn't have happened without her guidance.

"That's for sure. My wife is the best," Kawakaze said shamelessly, smirking as he flattered her with exaggerated praise.

"Since you're so sensible, I'll reward you tonight," Tsunade teased, leaning in and playfully running a finger along his chin, her expression both amused and alluring.

"I want wings and tattoos," Kawakaze said eagerly, rubbing his hands together in obvious anticipation.

"You're asking for a lot," Tsunade said with an exasperated eye roll. Kawakaze's boundless greed always managed to surface.

"Heh..." Kawakaze chuckled, offering no rebuttal.

"I'm not wasting any more time on you. I'm going back to work," Tsunade said, standing up and preparing to leave. She had far too many documents waiting for her attention to linger here any longer.

"I'll walk you out," Kawakaze offered, following her immediately. His lack of anything pressing to do was obvious.

"You stay here. I'll go on my own," Tsunade said firmly, adjusting her clothes as she exited the office without looking back.

"Don't forget my reward," Kawakaze called out, his voice echoing down the hallway.

Tsunade shot him a sharp glare over her shoulder. "The reward is canceled," she snapped, quickening her pace.

"Once the words are spoken, it's not up to you anymore," Kawakaze muttered to himself as he returned to his seat. Despite her response, he couldn't help but feel smugly content.
