Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One!-Chapter 376: Kawakaze Makes the Decision
Chapter 376 - 376: Kawakaze Makes the Decision
"What are you talking about? No one answered the door."
Kawakaze, feeling completely at home, casually sat down after greeting Mito.
"Yes, I could hear you all talking from far away," Tsunade added, sitting down next to Kawakaze and picking up a side dish to snack on.
"It's nothing. Yesterday, my grandma said she wants Brother Nawaki to get married early," Kushina explained, glancing around the room. She seemed to be looking for someone.
"Don't bother looking. Minato suddenly got a mission," Kawakaze said, easily reading Kushina's thoughts. "He'll probably be done by the afternoon."
"Oh, I know!" Kushina sighed as she sat back down, disappointment flickering in her eyes. She had been looking forward to her date from last night.
"Getting married early is a good thing. Has the date been set?" Tsunade asked, wiping her greasy fingers on a paper towel as she turned her attention to Nawaki.
"No, no," Nawaki quickly waved his hands in protest. "Grandma just had a sudden urge to bring it up. Misaki and I are planning to wait a few years. Just now, Grandma agreed."
"Oh, I see." Tsunade tossed the paper towel away, brushing off the topic.
"I was just talking casually. They should decide their own affairs themselves," Mito said, seemingly forgetting that she had been the one to push for the marriage just yesterday. Her attitude had taken a complete turn.
"A few years later is fine. Nawaki isn't qualified enough yet," Tsunade commented, raising her hand with a teasing expression, which immediately made Nawaki flinch.
"Sister, what are you doing?" Nawaki straightened up, fear lingering as he watched Tsunade lower her hand.
Curse you, bloodline suppression!
"Can't I scare you?" Tsunade shot him a casual glance. With that level of courage, how could he be expected to take care of a family?
"Okay, whatever you say, Big Sister," Nawaki muttered, not even attempting to resist. Instead, he roughly rubbed Ginji's face in frustration.
"Bad Uncle, you're hurting me!" Ginji struggled to escape Nawaki's grasp, his expression full of grievance.
"Come here, buddy," Kawakaze said, waving the boy over with a touch of sympathy in his voice.
"Oh, that's right," Kawakaze suddenly remembered something, pressing Ginji close to him. "Kushina, how many months do you have until you come of age?"
"Me?"
"I've got less than six months until I come of age."
Kushina counted on her fingers, wondering why Kawakaze was asking about it.
"Less than six months?" Kawakaze frowned and turned his gaze to Mito, his expression thoughtful.
"What's wrong, Kawakaze?"
"What's wrong with me?" Mito asked, suddenly feeling a bit uneasy under Kawakaze's scrutinizing stare. Had he noticed something?
"No, Grandma. I just suddenly feel that it's not a bad idea for Nawaki to get married early. Why don't you set a date?"
Kawakaze couldn't detect anything unusual on the surface, but a wave of sadness welled up in his heart. If his memory of the original story served him correctly, Mito had passed away shortly after Kushina came of age. Her insistence on urging Nawaki to marry wasn't just a whim. Perhaps she simply wanted to see her grandson married before she died, so she could leave this life without regrets.
"Brother-in-law, Grandma already said that we'd decide for ourselves."
Nawaki, unaware of what Kawakaze was worrying about, found it strange that he'd bring up a topic they had already settled.
"Shut up. I'll tell you later."
For once, Kawakaze's tone toward Nawaki was harsh, his sudden sharpness startling both Misaki and Kushina.
"What are you doing?" Tsunade asked quietly, giving Kawakaze a subtle tug. She felt he had gone too far; after all, Nawaki was her younger brother and hadn't said anything offensive.

"It's fine. Let's hear what Grandma has to say first." Kawakaze forced a smile at Tsunade. If Mito didn't acknowledge it, there was nothing he could say to explain himself.
"Let them be. There's no rush," Mito said after a long pause, giving Kawakaze a deep, knowing look. She hadn't expected the boy to see through her so quickly.
"Brother-in-law, you see. Grandma was just talking casually," Nawaki said, still oblivious to the underlying tension. He simply assumed Kawakaze was overthinking the situation.
"Grandma, I think..."
"You can't just let things slide," Kawakaze interjected. "Nawaki, if you don't start pushing yourself, when will you finally grow up? That's why getting married early is definitely a good idea."
Kawakaze completely ignored Nawaki's protests but avoided being too blunt. Instead, he presented ideas that sounded reasonable.
"Well, what you said does have some truth to it," Mito said with a faint smile, giving Kawakaze a subtle nod.
"Grandma..." Nawaki began, but Kawakaze interrupted him again.
"Misaki didn't say anything, so why are you talking so much? Have you fallen in love with someone else?"
Kawakaze's twisted logic silenced Nawaki completely. Misaki stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. Nawaki's pitiful expression was just too funny. As for the idea that Nawaki had fallen for someone else, Misaki didn't believe it for a second.
"Misaki, what do you think about getting married?" Mito asked, bypassing Nawaki entirely. She already knew what Misaki's answer would be. With Kawakaze taking the lead, she saw no need to hesitate.
"I'm fine with it. I'll listen to Grandma," Misaki replied without hesitation, just as Mito had expected. She handed the decision-making power over willingly.
"Then it's settled. Grandma, just set a date, and we'll call it a day," Kawakaze said, glaring at Nawaki to prevent him from speaking further.
"Okay, I'll find someone to calculate the date later," Mito replied, her tone final. The matter was officially decided.
Nawaki sat in a daze. His marriage had been decided just like that?
"What are you daydreaming about? You should be happy," Tsunade said, giving him a light slap on the head—just enough to keep him grounded without giving him a headache.
"I'm happy, I'm happy," Nawaki replied with a grin, though it was hard to tell if he truly meant it.
"Don't worry, brother-in-law, I'll make sure to throw you a big wedding. You'll be satisfied," Kawakaze said, giving Nawaki a heavy pat on the shoulder—a gesture with its own unspoken meaning. Whether Nawaki understood it or not was his own problem.
"Thank you, brother-in-law," Nawaki replied, exchanging polite words with Kawakaze.
Looking across the table, he saw Misaki sitting quietly, her demeanor demure and composed. Maybe there was nothing wrong with getting married early after all.
"Then you mustn't favor one over the other, brother-in-law. Don't forget Minato is your top disciple," Kushina interjected, though she was too embarrassed to bring herself up directly. Instead, she mentioned Minato's name.
"You little minx, you're quite eager," Kawakaze teased, amusement flickering in his eyes. This little firecracker was far more outspoken than Minato. "Don't worry, I won't treat you guys unfairly."
"I knew you'd be the best Sensei," Kushina said, brushing off the awkwardness and offering a flattering compliment.
"Okay, okay, stop putting on a fake front," Kawakaze replied with a dismissive wave. "If I didn't agree, you wouldn't even know what to say to me."
"I'm not like that," Kushina quickly denied, unwilling to admit to something so embarrassing.
When Minato wasn't around, she often badmouthed Kawakaze and Tsunade, calling one a henpecked husband and the other a violent maniac.
