Chapter 410 - 410: Online Beatdown of the Two-Tails (Part 2)

"Hm~"

"Nagato is unavailable, but Kakuzu should do."

"The three of you should barely be enough."

Kawakaze stroked his chin as he assessed the group, convinced there wouldn't be a problem.

Although the Four Red Yang Formation required four Kage-level shinobi to activate, Yahiko and the others had grown at an extraordinary pace over the years.

Leaving aside Nagato—the ultimate cheat—the rest were all geniuses. With better experiences and guidance, it was only natural they would reach Kage-level strength earlier than in the original timeline.

"Sensei, who are you looking down on?"

Konan pouted in defiance, her tone carrying a hint of playfulness that made her reaction quite cute.

"Haha, my mistake."

"I apologize."

Kawakaze laughed heartlessly, entirely ignoring Kakuzu's clear reluctance to be dragged into this.

"Alright, you four should get familiar with it first," Tsunade instructed.

"It's an A-rank technique, after all—not something you'll master right away."

She wasn't really concerned, but she was eager to see how Nagato planned to subdue the Tailed Beast. Yahiko and the others had been training together for years, so their coordination wasn't in question.

"Understood."

Nagato nodded, picked up the jar, and walked straight out. The others followed, with Kakuzu trailing behind reluctantly.

After a while, the five of them arrived at a secluded valley—Hanzō's former hideout. Surrounded by mountains with only one entrance, it was an ideal location.

"This place will do."

Kawakaze gave an approving nod, unfazed by any lingering memories of the past.

"Are we just dropping the jar?"

Nagato lifted the black jar, causing Yahiko and the others to instinctively retreat. In an instant, they had put a significant distance between themselves and Nagato.

"I'm just testing it. No need to be scared."

Nagato was clearly amused, delighted at the chance to pull a harmless prank.

"You little—"

Nagato wasn't usually one for mischief, which made the sudden stunt even more startling.

"Haha..."

"Just smash it down."

Kawakaze was enjoying the show. He was certain the jar wouldn't break from an ordinary impact—but if Nagato was the one to do it, that was a different story.

"Enough playing around—let's test the barrier," Tsunade said with a smirk, though hers was more restrained than Kawakaze's.

"Yes, Sensei (Sensei's wife)."

Only Kakuzu remained silent. As Yahiko and Konan took their positions, the three of them formed a triangular formation around Nagato, ready to begin.

"Are you ready?"

After visually measuring the distance, everyone's expression turned serious.

At Yahiko's low command, the other three nodded in unison.

"Here it comes."

The four of them simultaneously began forming hand seals, and a powerful chakra fluctuation rippled through the valley.

Kawakaze and Tsunade held their breath, silently rooting for them.

The first attempt—failure.

The second attempt—failure.

On the third attempt, a rectangular barrier, burning with transparent crimson flames, finally rose from the ground.

"It worked."

Kawakaze murmured, his gaze turning firm.

"Then I'll begin."

After exchanging glances with Yahiko and the others, Nagato didn't hesitate. He raised the black canister and slammed it down onto the ground.

Bang!

With a loud explosion, the canister shattered.

As the smoke and dust settled, a crater several meters wide appeared before them. Nagato's sheer force had left a deep impact.

Through shared vision, both Kawakaze and Tsunade saw a massive surge of blue chakra rapidly solidifying. Yahiko and the others focused intently on the barrier, their breathing growing heavy.

Oooooooooooooo—

Two long, flame-like tails with blue and black stripes shot upright, a clear indication of the beast's unstable emotions.

"It's not bad."

Nonō nodded approvingly, showing no signs of concern.

She wouldn't claim she could defeat a Tailed Beast, but she had complete confidence in Nagato.

Tsunade glanced at the Two-Tails, then at Kawakaze, looking distinctly unimpressed.

"How did you even pick mine back then?"

Tsunade glanced between the Two-Tails and Kawakaze, her dissatisfaction with Chōmei written all over her face.

In terms of sheer looks, the Two-Tails was leagues ahead of Chōmei.

"You ungrateful woman!"

Before Kawakaze could even respond, Chōmei's indignant voice rang out from within Tsunade.

Anyone would be upset after such blatant criticism.

It wasn't like it had any say in how it looked—if anyone was to blame, it was the Sage of Six Paths!

For all these years, even if it hadn't done anything extraordinary, Chōmei had at least put in the effort.

At the very least, it had never caused Tsunade any trouble.

Forget the joy of having big wings—when it came to having the most peaceful temperament among the Tailed Beasts, Chōmei was undoubtedly number one.

As Tsunade's expression shifted, Kawakaze suddenly realized that this chatterbox had unintentionally saved him from answering a very difficult question.

"Alright, alright. I apologize."

"I was wrong."

Tsunade admitted, though her face showed clear impatience.

"Woman, I don't see any sincerity."

"You've hurt my pride."

Chōmei, seeing an opening, immediately ran with it—clearly having no intention of stopping.

Kawakaze could feel the pressure around Tsunade intensify. His instincts as a man screamed danger.

"I'm showing you respect, and you're throwing it away?"

"Talking to me about pride? Are you asking for a beating?"

Tsunade suddenly stood up, and Kawakaze nearly flinched. Chōmei was really playing with fire.

"What's the big deal..."

Chōmei flapped its wings and backed toward the edge of the sealed space.

It had been flattened for years—what self-respect could it possibly have left?

Against Tsunade, it had only one emotion left: fear.

Being a bug was tough. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Hmph.

With Chōmei once again subdued, Tsunade sat back down, satisfied.

She had no intention of pressing Kawakaze to answer her previous question.

"Look, they're about to fight."

Since she let it go, Kawakaze naturally didn't push his luck either. He turned his attention back to the barrier.

Inside, Nagato and Two-Tails had been staring each other down for a while.

At first, the beast looked down on the small human before it.

But as it sensed the powerful chakra radiating from Nagato, its attitude shifted.

This kid's presence was no weaker than that dark-skinned man from Kumo.

Even though it had broken free from the canister, true freedom still seemed out of reach.

"Human, let me out."

Two-Tails raised its left front paw and took a small step forward, lowering its head slightly.

The way it looked down at Nagato carried an overwhelming pressure—one that should have instilled fear.

Yet, its voice was surprisingly gentle.

Pfft—

Nagato couldn't help but laugh.

That contrast was just too much.

"Letting you out? That's not happening."

"But if you behave, I promise to make it less painful for you."

He casually rotated his wrist, revealing a small black rod from beneath his loose sleeve.

The amused glint in his eyes, half-hidden under crimson bangs, made it seem like he was merely toying with a pet.
