Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 666: Don’t Tell Me It’s Lightning Again?
Ye Hao was covered in soot, his clothes torn in several places, as though he had just emerged from a brutal battle.
Only his old face remained untouched—especially his long beard, which showed not the slightest hint of disorder.
Lin Moyu found the sight secretly amusing. Senior Ye Hao clearly valued his image. Clothes could always be replaced, but growing a beard like that took a lot of time. He certainly knew where his priorities lay.
Meng Anwen said quietly, “In his youth, Senior Ye Hao was quite the handsome man.”
Lin Moyu nodded faintly. He could easily believe it.
Ye Hao casually tossed aside his tattered outer robe and changed into a clean, immaculate set of clothes. In an instant, his aura transformed. The previous dishevelment vanished, replaced by an imposing and dignified presence.
His gaze settled on Meng Anwen. After a brief pause of surprise, Ye Hao smiled faintly, “Ah, Young Meng. What brings you here?”
When there was no conflict of interest, the two sides were always courteous.
Meng Anwen smiled, “I came to pay my respects, and to bring Moyu to take care of a certain matter.”
Following Meng Anwen’s lead, Lin Moyu cupped his fist, “Lin Moyu greets Senior Ye.”
Ye Hao was a venerable elder who had made genuine contributions to the human race. Lin Moyu naturally showed him the respect he deserved.
When Ye Hao noticed the five-star godly general badge on Lin Moyu’s shoulder, his pupils shrank, “The younger generation truly inspires awe.”
“Senior, you flatter me.” Lin Moyu replied modestly, “I still have a long way to go.”
Ye Hao chuckled and gestured toward the Demon Extermination Tower, “Go on, then. Perhaps you’ll succeed. It would save me from staring at that thing every day—wanting it, yet unable to claim it, just drooling in vain.”
Meng Anwen nodded at Lin Moyu, “Go ahead. Give it a try.”
Lin Moyu nodded in return and flew toward the Demon Extermination Tower.
Watching his retreating figure, Ye Hao let out a long sigh. If he still couldn’t guess why Lin Moyu had come, then his years of training would have been wasted.
Five-star godly general represented far more than status. It was proof of terrifying strength.
Ye Hao had no doubt about the authenticity of Lin Moyu’s military rank.
Having witnessed his performance in the Divine Stone Dungeon and investigated his background, Ye Hao knew that Lin Moyu was a peerless genius, one the human race had not seen in the past millennium.
His true combat strength could not be measured by level alone.
Turning to Meng Anwen, Ye Hao said, “You’ve taken in an extraordinary disciple.”
Meng Anwen accepted the praise without false modesty, “Old Bai was fortunate, but Moyu himself is extremely diligent.”
“Diligent indeed.” Ye Hao echoed, unable to hide his envy.
Who wouldn’t covet such a disciple?
“Senior Ye, do you think he’ll succeed?” Meng Anwen asked.
Ye Hao pondered briefly, “Even if not this time, he will eventually. If even he fails, then the Demon Extermination Tower may never find another master.”
Meng Anwen nodded, “It’s been without a master for centuries. Though it stands guard, its role is severely limited.” 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Ye Hao agreed, “The past few hundred years have been relatively peaceful. The Demons haven’t launched any major invasions, so things here have been quiet.”
“That’s because the human race has grown stronger and stronger.” Meng Anwen said with a smile, “But with the Dragonkind’s return, there’s now a new variable.”
“A three-way balance might bring even greater stability.” Ye Hao replied.
The Dragonkind had only just returned, and much remained uncertain. Although humanity was steadily growing stronger, it still lacked the power to launch a true counteroffensive.
For now, all they could do was wait.
“It’s starting!” Wang Lin shouted softly.
Everyone turned their gaze toward Lin Moyu as he entered the Demon Extermination Tower’s sphere of influence.
The instant he crossed the boundary, a sword-like aura slashed toward him. It was infused with the lightning element, threaded with traces of the wind element.
The fusion produced a razor-sharp force. The power of these attacks was extremely close to God-level.
They were strong enough that even Ye Hao, at level 95, had to confront them seriously.
While the others wondered how Lin Moyu would respond, he walked forward as though he felt nothing at all.
Countless attacks descended upon him, yet they vanished like clay oxen sinking into the sea, leaving him completely unaffected.
Lin Moyu knew that Bone Armor would be useless here. It wouldn’t last more than a few seconds, so he didn’t bother casting it. Attacks of this level weren’t worth his attention.
“Judging from the lingering traces of Ye Hao’s aura, he has altered his path several times.”
“With his strength, there was no need to dodge attacks of this caliber.”
“That meant something stronger is coming; something better avoided than endured.”
“Four changes in direction… meaning he encountered four great attacks.”
“The Demon Extermination Tower’s range is 500 meters. One great attack every 100 meters—four in total.”
Although Lin Moyu appeared calm, his mind was working at full speed.
He analyzed every trace Ye Hao had left behind, refining his approach step by step. He couldn’t be certain his deductions were flawless, but he was confident they were largely correct.
As he reached the 100-meter mark, Lin Moyu’s expression sharpened. His soul force circulated slowly as he braced himself.
Boom!
A bolt of lightning burst from within the tower, accompanied by a deafening roar.
In midair, it condensed into a colossal blade of lightning that cleaved straight toward Lin Moyu’s head.
Lin Moyu immediately sensed the dense lightning element contained within it.
“About 30% to 40% similar to Godslaying Lightning. As expected, it was modeled after the Thunderclap Tower.”
“The power has reached God-level, roughly level 91. Not bad.”
“To unleash an attack of this magnitude without anyone controlling it… it truly deserves its title as the strongest offensive weapon among the three great towers.”
“If someone were controlling it, it could likely reach Mid-tier God-level strength, pushing the limit of legendary-grade equipment.”
Lin Moyu’s thoughts moved as swiftly as lightning itself, completing the analysis in an instant.
Had it been any other element, he might have made a token attempt to evade.
But this was the lightning element.
He didn’t bother dodging. He stood his ground, calm and unmoving.
Wang Lin and the others stared in disbelief, “He’s not dodging?!”
Ye Hao’s eyes widened, “That kid is being reckless.”
Meng Anwen chuckled softly, “Relax. Moyu knows exactly what he’s doing.”
Of course, he couldn’t say outright that Lin Moyu was immune to lightning. Attacking him with lightning was like throwing a meat bun to a dog; not only would it fail, it would only feed the dog.
Meng Anwen knew Lin Moyu well: the boy never took a fight he wasn’t certain of winning. If he wasn’t dodging, then he clearly had absolute confidence.
The lightning blade struck Lin Moyu head-on with a thunderous blast.
And then—nothing.
Like a clay ox entering the sea, the lightning vanished without leaving even a ripple.
Without breaking stride, Lin Moyu ignored the attack entirely and continued forward, his pace even faster than before.
The crowd was stunned.
Wang Lin could hardly believe his eyes. An attack that even Ye Hao would need to dodge had been completely disregarded.
It wasn’t blocked. It wasn’t resisted. It was ignored.
Ye Hao was equally shaken, “What… just happened?”
Meng Anwen shook his head, “To be honest, even I don’t fully understand Moyu’s true combat strength. He always has his own methods.”
He offered no further explanation. This was Lin Moyu’s secret.
Ye Hao smiled awkwardly and chose not to press further.
Meanwhile, Lin Moyu thought calmly, “If the remaining attacks are also the lightning element, then there’s nothing to worry about.”
“Since it’s a replica of the Thundercloud Tower, it should have a core.”
“And if the trial inside is also the lightning element… then success is practically guaranteed.”
A faint smile flickered in his eyes.
The second attack came swiftly—still a lightning blade, but stronger, reaching the peak of level 91.
Lin Moyu still didn’t dodge or block. His speed increased once more.
In rapid succession, the third and fourth attacks descended. They had reached level 92.
They were just as useless.
By the time Lin Moyu reached the entrance of the Demon Extermination Tower, the massive gate opened on its own, as though welcoming its rightful master.
The tower rose 30 meters high and appeared to have five floors from the outside. Yet inside, there were no stairs, no partitions.
Nothing obstructed the view straight up to the top.
At the tower’s peak floated a brilliant lightning sphere, clearly its core. Electric serpents coiled and danced around it.
Lin Moyu knew that once he reached the core, communicated with it, and imprinted it with his soul brand, the Demon Extermination Tower would be his.
The real challenge lay in reaching it.
A vast, crushing pressure descended from above, bearing down on his body.
To a God-level expert, this alone was insignificant. There had to be something worse coming.
“Don’t tell me it’s lightning again.” Lin Moyu muttered with a chuckle, “If it is, I won’t hold back.”
He shot straight toward the core.
Boom!
The tower erupted in chaos as countless bolts of lightning crashed down toward him from above.
