Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 377: Right to Criticize her?
The silence that followed was absolute. It was a suffocating, heavy quiet that made the very air feel like solid lead.
Not a single soul dared to breathe.
A moment ago, the native experts of the Blue Star were throwing blame, screaming at Lia and Bai Yue, and cursing Grey’s name. Now, those same experts were trembling so violently they could barely keep themselves afloat in the sky.
Wang Bao stared at Grey’s back, his jaw completely slack. His previous words of criticism now echoed in his mind like a ringing death sentence.
He swallowed hard, feeling a cold sweat drench his robes. If Grey had tapped him instead of Luca...
The burly northern expert, who had roared the loudest just moments prior, was now clutching his chest. His eyes darted frantically between the massive crater where Luca had disappeared and the god-like figure of Grey. His legs gave out entirely, and he slumped down onto an invisible platform of air, paralyzed by a primal fear.
"He is not at the fourth rank," Yin Matriarch Luna whispered, her voice cracking. Her mind was entirely blank. "That is not a fourth rank aura."
They had all felt the oppressive might of Edward. It was the power to conquer a world. But Grey’s presence? It felt like the weight of an entire universe was resting on their fragile shoulders.
They had severely, catastrophically misjudged the situation.
On the other side, Bai Yue and Lia stood frozen, but their shock was born of absolute awe rather than terror.
Lia’s beautiful eyes shimmered with a mixture of disbelief and overwhelming pride. Her crystalline hearts hammered against her ribs. She had always known her man was extraordinary, but seeing him casually suppress a legendary fifth rank being with a single word was beyond anything she had ever dared to imagine.
The Grand Polarity Master wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, a wry chuckle escaping his lips. "It seems my old eyes still have some use left. To think I almost doubted him for a second."
Meanwhile, the invaders from the Crimson Core Planet were experiencing a living nightmare.
The twenty fourth rank experts, who had descended with haughty laughter and mocking sneers, were now glued to the void. Their bones creaked agonizingly under the immense gravitational pressure of Grey’s domain. Some of them were already bleeding from their eyes and noses, unable to even lift a finger to defend themselves.
But the most pathetic sight was Edward.
The almighty fifth rank conqueror, who had claimed he didn’t even need to lift a hand to wipe out the Blue Star, was now kneeling like a peasant before a king.
"Aargh!" Edward roared in humiliation.
Veins bulged across his forehead and neck as he desperately tried to circulate his origin energy. He ignited his origin essence, trying to force himself to stand up. He was a lord of his own planet. He had conquered it with his own might. He could not be humiliated like this by a native.
"Stand up... I command my body to stand!" Edward ground his teeth, origin light which converted into blood seeping from his gums.
However, Grey simply looked down at him with an indifferent, pitying gaze.
Grey did not exert any extra energy. He simply took one more casual step forward.
Crack!
The sound of shattering bone echoed clearly across the silent battlefield.
Edward’s kneecaps completely exploded under the sheer passive pressure of Grey’s proximity. The fifth rank expert let out a pathetic, agonizing shriek as his lower legs gave way entirely, forcing him to bow even lower until his forehead was mere inches from Grey’s boots.
For a split moment, no one dared to speak.
They all stared at the single being that dominated the world with his absolute presence.
The natives of the Blue Star knew Grey’s true age.
Seventeen.
They used to think that Lia, who managed to reach the 4th Rank at the age of seventeen, was a monstrous, once-in-a-century genius. But this?
The person in front of them was even younger than her, yet he possessed the power to crush a 5th Rank being with a single word.
"You... let go of me!" Edward shouted, his voice a mixture of agonizing pain and burning shame.
To think he, a grand conqueror, would be humiliated and forced to kneel by a native from an unranked planet.
"Who allowed you to speak?" Grey casually waved his hand.
Immediately, an invisible force slammed into the 5th Rank expert. Edward shot upward like a broken ragdoll, tearing through the atmosphere toward the moon of the Blue Star.
Boom!
The instant Edward’s body hit the lunar surface, the moon’s crust crumbled with no resistance. Just as quickly, the chaotic energy on the moon latched onto Edward, completely sealing him shut within a crater of his own making.
"Now then, with him out of the way for a bit."
"I have been observing the things going on here for a while."
Grey slowly swept his gaze over the 4th Rank experts of the Blue Star, who were all trembling in their spots.
"Those who were badmouthing my girlfriend and my follower Bai Yue... step forward."
The instant they heard this, the experts who had criticized Lia and Bai Yue earlier shivered uncontrollably.
At the same time, Lia, who was standing not too far from Grey, trembled when she heard the term "girlfriend."
A brilliant, subconscious smile formed on her face.
She might be a proud, cold goddess to the rest of the world, but when it came to her man, her heart melted.
Although she still had some lingering confusion about their relationship before, they did share a moment of true closeness before Grey began his assimilation process. Now, him actively calling her his girlfriend in front of the strongest beings on the planet confirmed everything.
It was normal for Lia to have a seed of doubt. This was Grey, after all. He was too unpredictable. She had even doubted if she might have to restart from scratch after he came back because he simply didn’t give their relationship matter enough vocal attention.
Grey continued sweeping his gaze over the experts. The silence was deafening.
"Very well. Since no one wants to take responsibility and step up, I will just break all of your hands and legs," Grey said with a casual, chilling smile.
He snapped his fingers.
Snap! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Instantly, the spatial pressure localized around the specific experts who had badmouthed Lia and Bai Yue. Their expressions twisted in pure agony as the bones in their limbs shattered simultaneously. They fell from the sky, crashing to the ground one by one like swatted flies.
This included Wang Bao.
"Hey! Why are you hurting my husband?!" Origin Light Sera was immediately enraged, her fear momentarily overshadowed by fury. "Was what he said not the absolute truth? If you hadn’t descended right now, we might as well have been doomed! He had every right to criticize them for lifting the seals and exposing us to the cosmos!"
Grey slowly turned his head to glance at Sera.
"Right to criticize her?" A cold, mocking smile formed on Grey’s face.
Grey’s figure flickered. In the next microsecond, he was floating just inches away from Sera, looking down at her with an indifferent expression.
