Nightblade (Darkest night)-Chapter 188: Inhuman speed
An eerie silence gripped the small crowd of youths.
The Talented stared at the dark tenebrous figure in shock.
Sarenus emanated a terrifying aura of power and dread that wafted off him in waves stunning the Talented around him.
The darkness shifted subtly around him, a thick wave of pressure permeating the air.
The Talented subconsciously stepped back from the menacing dark form, giving him a wide berth.
Sarenus turned his gaze to the two burly youths who had been standing guard in front of Anthony's makeshift throne, piercing them with a menacing, fiery glare.
The two boys audibly gulped taking several steps back in fear. Beads of perspiration rolled down their foreheads.
Sarenus cocked his head, his lips widening into an eerie smile.
Brilliant tongues of luminescent white flames leaked from his mouth, adding to his already terrifying appearance.
"Should I kill them?"
A collective gasp rolled through the crowd of gathered youths, several of them instinctively taking several steps back.
" It can speak?"
"Crap! What if he decides to kill us all?"
" Shit."
Morgan threw a furtive glance at Sarenus then slowly shook his head.
" No....not yet." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
At that, the two youths froze, their minds slowly understood what the scion had just said.
In the next moment, they screamed in genuine terror and then turned and fled.
Sarenus stared at them with almost bored interest, then casually took a step forward.
In the next moment, he disappeared from where he'd been standing.
The two boys came to a sudden stop with wild screams.
A short distance ahead of them, a dark figure stood casually inspecting his fingers with exaggerated interest.
" Die, die die!"
With frantic shouts, their eyes glowed as their abilities activated simultaneously.
The boys moved in unison, attacking in sync.
The ground quaked, deep cracks developing throughout the expanse of the empty, then surged forward, flowing and shaping itself into a living, moving wall of jagged spikes.
At the same time, the second boy moved forward, with a feral grin, riding the wave of surging concrete.
With a shout, he vaulted up into the air, manipulating his ascension.
" Guess what freak, I'm a class A3!"
With that, his eyes glowed an even brighter shade of luminous blue.
Stretching out his hands, he let out a low shout.
The air around him churned, slowly at first, then quickly picked up speed, the drafts of air current fiercely twisting into a brutal whirlwind with a sound akin to a buzz saw.
Raising his hands, the Talented lifted the murderous current, slamming it down onto Sarenus's unmoving form with a murderous intensity burning in his eyes.
A moment later, the wall of moving ground crashed into him as well, a second smaller wall emerging from behind him and completely entombing him.
Brant, the elemental Talented, clasped his hands together, pressing them into a crashing grip.
The wind whistled violently, then exploded outward in a violent explosion of crushing pressure.
The two youths grinned triumphantly, staring at the destruction before them with a dark satisfaction.
After a while, Brant let out a nervous, shaky laugh, his eyes widening slightly and his pupils constricting in smoky dark amusement.
" Hehehe, hehehe, hehehee"
He threw his head back and laughed, saggingly, clutching at his head.
The other youth followed suit, the two of them laughing shakily.
" We did it, we destroyed it…"
They turned around with triumphant smiles on their faces, sniggering derisively.
" To think that Anthony, lost to a runt like you…." Brant sneered, pointing a shaky finger at Morgan.
He scoffed, shaking his head dismissively.
"Yeah, that's right…" The other youth said, nodding in agreement.
Branr talked closer, stopping a short distance away.
He dramatically threw his hands into the air, with a scoff.
" So is this it? Was this a sort of last-ditch plan that you had? Was this supposed to scare us into submission?"
Morgan silently stared at him, without replying.
Brant took a step back, a slight frown appearing on his face.
"Why is he looking at me like that?"
He turned to the rest of the youths standing there.
The other Talented made no move forward despite him defeating the dark anomaly the assassin scion wielded.
"What's wrong with them, why aren't they moving?"
" What's wrong with you?! Attack him! We have the upper hand now! Attack him while he's still down!"
The Talented continued staring at him with grim pitying gazes.
He slowly realized that some of them were staring at a spot behind him
Brant slowly turned around, his heart heating frantically in his chest.
" No, no, no! It can't be."
His eyes confirmed his worst suspicion and fear.
A short distance away from him, the dark,k foreboding figure silently stood with the same smug, dreadful smirk.
The figure stared at him with dark amusement, the flames in its eyes flickering from time to time.
" Well, is that all you can do?" Morgan whispered.
Despite the low tone of his voice, all the conscious youths present heard him.
Brant's eyes widened in disbelief, his mouth quivering in fright.
With a desperate yell, the ground in front of him surged forming into a thick concrete javelin.
With a scream, the long grey shaft whipped through the air,
stopping a few inches away from Morgan's face.
Brant gaped in utter shock and disbelief falling hopelessly to his knees.
Standing in front of Morgan, Sarenus nonchalantly held the projectile in one gsbd then casually snapped it in half, crashing it to poder in his tenebrous fist.
An insidious smile appeared on Brant's downcast face. With a subtle flick of his hand, one of the broken shards whizzed through the air.
With quiet ease, Sarenus reached through the air, grabbing the broken end of the shaft that was centimetres away from Morgan's head.
Morgan slowly turned to Bran,t piercing him with a chilling, cold gaze.
The cruel devious smile on Brant's face slowly disappeared, his face turning deathly white from fear.
The projectiles and the figures moved so fast that the Talented could only see blurs.
A violent gust of wind followed in the wake of Sarenus terribly inhuman speed, the only indication that he'd moved.
" You know, I would have let you before you know. All you had to do was stay out of this. I would have ordered him to stand down."
Morgan pursed his lips then shook his head, letting out a sigh.
" But then you went and tried to kill me…"
He cocked his head, staring at them with a deadpan, lifeless stare.
" That means that it's only fair that I return the favour, no?"
