‎A grim silence settled over the crowd of Talented. The tension in the air was quite palpable.

‎"What is he thinking?"

‎Shit, he's gonna get himself killed."

‎In the silence that followed, a strange change began to occur in the air around the Talented.

" A second one?"

Lucian felt a profound sense of deja vu, seeing the air slowly change in the sky above them.

" Of course, that only made their situation much worse.

It was almost ironic.

Just when things were at their worst, they managed to get even worse.

‎The newly repaired cracks shimmered for a few moments then a new figure slowly materialized.

‎" What's taking you so long, Sye?"

‎Morgan's eyes narrowed at the newcomer's appearance.

‎"There are two of them now."

‎The newcomer wore fearsome dark armour that enshrouded his entire body from view.

The black armor seemed to devour any light that came near it.

In the helm of the armour, twin orbs of golden light burned brightly, adding to the figure's ethereal appearance.

Just like that, an ominous sense of dread pierced the hearts of everyone present with the new figure's arrival.

‎The creature before them, Sye, quickly genuflected.

‎" Lord Valerius, I didn't expect to see you here."

‎A faint memory stirred at the sound of the name.

‎" Valerius...where have I heard that name before," Morgan wondered.

‎Morgan warily watched the newcomer silently taking a careful step back.

His own arms throbbed painfully, hanging uselessly at his side.

The white veins on his hands pulsated with increasing intensity, his vision becoming blurry for a few moments.

He gritted his teeth, willing himself through the haze of pain and silently focusing on the hovering figure in front of him.

‎The dreadful dark armor dissolved into a cloud of shimmering darkness then the cloud slowly compressed in on itself.

‎The tall, lithe figure shrank down slowly, becoming smaller until a childlike figure stepped out of the swirling darkness.

‎The child had strange white blonde hair, that was sharply cut into a strange pattern but what stood out the most was his startling golden eyes that seemed to peer into the depths of Morgan's soul.

Morgan gasped staring at him in shock.

The child, Valerius fixed him with a curious stare at his reaction then turned to the venerating creature.

" You didn't answer my question, Sye. What was taking you so long?"

Sye let out a nervous laugh.

" It took a while to find the culprit but…"

" It's me you're looking for," Morgan spoke, stepping forward.

" The rest of them have nothing to do with this."

Valerius fixed him with a curious gaze.

Within the space of a breath, he materialized next to Morgan.

Morgan suppressed a gasp, his eyes widening in surprise.

" He's fast. So incredibly fast…"

Lucian jumped to his feet lunging forward but a brutal overwhelming force slammed him back into the ground with a horrific force.

He rolled with a groan, spitting blood.

"And who are you supposed to be?" Valerius calmly asked.

" My name is Morgan Thane. I'm from Earth. We were simply trying to find a way back when we found ourselves in Azaroth."

Morgan hastily narrated some of the things that had leaving out a few things.

Lucian watched him speak in stunned disbelief.

Valerius slowly scrutinized him.

"An

Interesting story indeed.

However, all that is none of my concern. The only one we need is you. You did this all in your own, yes?"

Morgan nodded.

"Then I'll come with you. But please could you send my friends back home?"

"And why would I do that?"

Morgan clenched his fists taking a breath.

" Well here goes nothing."

He stared at Valerius with conviction in his eyes, then carefully choosing his words he spoke.

" Because you're my friend too, Val. We've met before."

Valerius stared at him for a few moments in silence then his lips slowly curled up into a smile.

"You truly believe that? I think I'd remember meeting you."

"He lies my Lord. I've seen him use his powers too. He's a lightspawn and Void World Wielder. You know how dangerous they are."

Moving with uncanny speed, Sye materialized behind Morgan grabbing him by the neck and casually lifting him into the air.

Morgan strained uselessly against the creature's crushing grip. His eyes widened in fear.

" He's too strong!"

" Allow me to dispose of him for you, my Lord."

Valerius pierced Morgan with an icy gaze.

" A lightspawn?"

A tenebrous blade materialized out of thin air.

The blade whistled through the air with such a startling speed, so fast that Morgan failed to follow its trajectory.

The gilded blade stopped just a few centimeters away from his neck.

Morgan stared in shock then glanced at the pale hand holding the blade in place.

"No. Our Lord wants him alive," Valerius quietly muttered.

" Dismiss your blade Sye."

Morgan was reeling from shock.

Both of them had moved so fast and yet, Valerius had effortlessly grabbed the powerful blade like it was nothing.

The realization that he could have died in that split second was jarring and strangely sobering e even through the pain.

The black blade vanished, washing away in a tide of darkness.

"My apologies, my Lord."

Valerius stared at Sye for a few moments then turned to Morgan.

" Much as I'd rather let Sye here end you, you're more valuable to me alive."

" As for the rest of you…"

Valerius turned to the crowd of Talented.

" Val, if it's you, then please…send them home," Morgan whispered.

"Why do you keep calling me that?"

" You once told me that your closest friends called you Val. From what I've seen, you have the power to do so…in exchange for my life, send them home."

Valerius' eyes narrowed in disbelief.

" And when was that? When did we meet?"

Morgan strained against Sye's grip.

" We once met, in front of a large city…a caravan…you told me about a Hlagg…"

Valerius stared at him in confusion then his eyes narrowed. He slowly turned around closing his eyes in thought.

" How is that possible…" he murmured

After a few moments, he spoke.

" Put him down."

Sye's eyes widened slightly then narrowed.

" Yes, my Lord."

Valerius slowly opened his eyes, a faint smile playing on his lips.

" Earth, was it?"

He turned gently gesturing with his hand in the air.

In the next moment, a crack appeared in the air.

Then several of them all at once.

A massive rift rapidly formed in the fabric of space, pulsating in rhythmic waves.

Warm sunlight streamed through the massive rift washing the bleak city in pale yellow light.

Lucian's eyes widened in disbelief.

" This, no! Morgan you can't do…"

Lucian leapt forward, gritting his teeth.

"No!"

Dark veins erupted all over his body.

All the umbralis within the immediate surroundings were immediately sucked towards his darting figure.

The ground cracked explosively his wake.

Lunging forward with a silent roar, he barreled towards the standing youth.

Morgan smiled weakly, nodding at Lucian.

' Go...' he mouthed.

Valerius sighed shaking his head slightly.

With a casual flick of his hand, Valerius sent him hurtling through the massive portal.

Talia lunged forward, moving in tandem with Amanda and Emily but Valerius merely brushed off their attacks as well and then sent them flying through the portal.

" I'd rather not waste time with the rest of you lot. Begone."

The rift abruptly widened, yawning akin to hu gru maw then swiftly engulfed the rest of the youths in a brilliant flash of light.

Within moments, the only sound that remained was that of gentle flowing water.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Morgan groaned, his eyes rolling into the back of his head then fell to the ground.

The massive rift imploded in on itself vanishing from sight.

"Such ghastly wounds. To think he managed to overwhelm the fragment of Azaroth the master placed here," Valerius murmured.

"But then it makes sense. If he is indeed a Void World Wielder. "

" My Lord, "Sye politely interjected.

"Why did you grant his request?"

Valerius laughed.

" Because he spoke the truth. Impossible though it may seem, we have met once before, he and I…a truly curious thing."

Gesturing nonchalantly,

Valerius spun on his foot and strode away.

" Come, let us leave this place."

In one fluid motion, Sye hefted the unconscious boy off the ground.

He strode forward following the unassuming boy.

In the next moment,

the two shimmered for a split second then disappeared.

A short distance outside of Tigan where Cromwell hall the home of the Varas, was, a large group of children suddenly appeared out of thin air in the fields of one of the very many ranches in the area.

The kids were reportedly distraught and dazed, with several of them having ghastly injuries.

The farmers in charge of the ranch quickly reported the incident to the authorities.

Within moments, the 'police' had arrived.

After spending a few minutes with the police, the farmers abruptly changed their statement reporting that it had been a prank call.

The large group of children disappeared just as mysteriously as they'd appeared.

A tall man in glasses and casual black shirt and jeans tiredly rubbed his eerie golden slitted eyes after speaking to the farmers.

" What a mess..." he thought.
