No One Will Ever Hurt You Again I Promise-Chapter 62: Lost Dog Shelter
Marc never expected that he would find Theo in the middle of his house and even less in his animal form, like a big teddy bear ready to receive hugs from anyone who wanted him.
But hey, he hasn’t even seen him yet, but he already knows what is waiting for him, and he can imagine the latter right in the middle of his living room. It’s as if he had him under his nose. Only with Theo’s smell, which invades the house as if the toddler had lived there all his life, was he able to say so.
Honestly, he could only notice El in the living room in total panic, which was new for the latter, without any trace of Howie and the owner of this rather sweet smell that he smelled on El. That was weeks ago when this one and Howie returned from their little rescue escapade, which they carried out by great chance.
The kid stank of dog and had a sweet undertone. It was a sweet smell of pineapple and candy, with a very faint "Chamaemelum Nobile" nuance that made the smell special. It’s the very smell that El couldn’t identify when he had Theo in his arms.
This hidden nuance makes his smell almost as calming as El’s, but not for everyone. While El can calm any creature in acute stress or nervous panic, or when he wants to discuss first before going to arm wrestle with his opponent, the other cannot; he can calm and bewitch only someone precious to him.
He acts as such only on a single person, and this person he must consider trustworthy, as an invaluable part of him, to let him take even a whiff of his scent.
But since they all know him and the one who makes this particular smell that he has manifested without realizing is part of this house, he is the one who attracts him here too. They all perceive it a little, but not like El. On the other hand, we will say it remains a kind of elixir for his mate, an aphrodisiac.
Except the newcomers don’t perceive it the same way. Perth doesn’t smell his scent at all; he smells something else. His senses tell him a new element has just been added to the picture as a kind of danger as if he had to protect someone from this person who had just arrived, but he does not share his presentiments with his brother.
He doesn’t want to frighten him even more for anything; he’s had enough pressure and stress in his life lately, and since the other occupants don’t seem too panicked by the terrible race El has been on, he contents himself with dragging him around like a kid.
"What could I have done wrong in my previous life to have you all in my hands as a punishment?" Ask Marc aloud, "Do I have a head or a sign that says home for the idle written on my forehead or any part of my body visible to everyone?"
"No, dad, I don’t think so," Howie replies with a hidden giggle in his voice, "but I think soon you will have to prepare this sign once and for all."
Bravael rolled his eyes in annoyance at the sly tone he heard in Howie’s voice. He knows this one is in a state close to jubilation, but he is doing everything to avoid giving way to his desire to make a mess out of him when he has his chance to pay his head, which he has done just for the past few days.
He is holding himself back not for El’s sake but for Theo’s, who must have changed in his animal form because he felt pressured and panicked uncontrollably, and his coming here as the full moon approaches is a sign that he is not in his normal state.
So, he will do whatever he can to get the poor little thing back into his human form to find a regular rhythm. He wants to laugh, but it will be once all the tension has dissipated, and he can’t wait to see their faces when he tells them the good news, especially El’s.
Suppose only El liked to read, even for a moment, the bestiary to know and learn a little more about the stories and legends behind each wolf and pack species. In that case, he will know at this very moment that he is about to tip over into a much more effective form of depression than the last time.
Theo sensed El’s panic in the other room, his hesitation to cross the few meters that separated them from each other, and the fact that he smelled his scent put him in even more distress.
Finally, he told himself that it was not a good idea to come here because it would be impossible for him to change into his human form for hours if this continued.
He turned suddenly to Howie, who was behind him and waiting for him to move so he could follow him. This one jumped at the sudden movement that the wolf made, and his bright gray eyes changed to a yellow-orange in the blink of an eye.
Howie takes a step back to take control of the situation and to prevent the frightened wolf from making an even crazier move because he’s afraid he won’t respond well to an attack from Theo. He is not in all his state to face a confrontation, and it does not matter about the nature of the row in question.
His birth inner and guest one aren’t in a good mood either. They’ve lacked entertainment and attention since Aike and Howie started avoiding each other like the plague, not to mention that they miss the innocent and cute little gem.
Howie has done everything to prevent him from snooping in Aike’s room and thinking of him. He has done everything not to feel this need since he became aware of his involuntary teleportation.
For example, he will breathe a few good puffs of the sweet smell of the latter in the guest room to soothe and calm his nerves, which are on edge, and give a few things to his inners to calm them down too. He didn’t expect his inner self to be familiarized quickly with Aike’s presence. Now he is even on the same scale as Lyke. Fortunately, they are not fighting over the Aike.
El forgot for a moment all the panic and pride that kept him from crossing the short distance he had left to face Theo and rushed into the kitchen when he perceived Howie’s hesitation and Theo’s sudden fright, which turned into anger and annoyance.
Yes, the Rufus alpha, when he’s angry, his eyes change to a yellow-orange, which is the color that differentiates him from his betas. When they see him like that, they all know they’ve screwed up somewhere and will have to report it to him without even having to ask the question.
He is the only one among his pack with an inner self with two pairs of eyes of different colors expressing his state of mind. He can be violent when they turn yellow-orange. On the other hand, when he is stressed, which is mostly the basis of his transformation, his eyes become lucid and clear gray, almost hypnotizing.
And that is the big difference between the Alpha of Rufus and the rest of his pack.
"Hey, sweetie," he said in a sophisticated voice, flooding the room with his pheromone to help them stay calm and sound.
"I guess it’s me you’re coming to see, right? So, I’m here; leave this jerk aside. We have to talk together when you’re back in your human form. What do you say?"
The wolf jumped at the sound of El’s voice. He quickly forgot the first confrontation he undertook with H. He brought his tail between his legs before lowering his head, then slowly, he went to hide at H’s feet, rubbing his muzzle in his black sweatpants.
"It’s okay, buddy," Howie told him with a crazy calm. "I understand it’s not your fault, and I’ll hold back until you calm down, okay?"
Bravael is stunned by this fluffy thing of his. He couldn’t believe Theo preferred Howie’s company instead of coming to him. "This hairy little thing is doubly stupid," said the latter, glaring at him. His eyes threw daggers at both of them mercilessly.
Then he turned away from that disturbing picture they both formed to leave the room, making bad blood. "To think I tumbled like a madman to see him, and he ignored me for that rascal, Howie."
"I should have let them fight like crazy until he killed him without pity. At least he’ll know he shouldn’t trust that vicious and ferocious bastard lurking under the appearance of this cute, candy-hearted boy. "
"It’s just a facade, nothing more; this boy is a killer." As he shows you, idiot, he is not pleasant. Why don’t you see him? Despite his demonstration at your house, you always preferred him to me. Are you stupid or what? "
El rambled like an old hag, dragging his feet heavily.
"Do you know that everyone can hear you say bad things about your friend? " said an almost shy voice behind him. He jumped, taking a big step forward as if to escape a fire that suddenly lit behind his back, then he turned around abruptly to face them.
Theo changed into his human form. Howie handed him one of the aprons his father and El used to cook. The same one El used to tie up his hair the first day he used Marc’s kitchen.
This one felt obliged to buy chef’s hats because he was tired of seeing Bravael using his aprons to cover his hair in the middle of his kitchen. However, he’s adorable like this for young people his age. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Howie used the same to hide Theo’s nudity, but the image he sent back to El, who suddenly turned around, took his breath away. He looks at him from head to toe as his heart begins to gallop in his chest. He can’t take his eyes off him.
With his messy hair covering his entire face, bulging muscles, and skin sending sparks, he seems almost unreal. He didn’t know he could be as mesmerized.
Theo shook his head slowly from left to right, passing a hand through his hair, which he pulled back to the top of his head to put it in order under the amazed gaze of Bravael, who was barely breathing now.
Howie begins to stare at him too, looking him up and down, lingering his greedy gaze on Theo’s muscular butts, which are exposed to him with a weird smile drawn all over his face, which does not escape El’s vigilance despite the state in which he finds himself.
"He’s not bad," Howie says, clicking his tongue against the upper wall of his mouth. "No, he’s pretty good," he rectifies.
[With this silhouette, this muscular dream body without a parcel of fat, and his firm buttocks, Bravael has something to brag about a little. But I doubt this one will let himself be taken by El the way El wants or imagines it a thousand times already, and I’m afraid El isn’t ready for it either. So how are they going to deal with this bit of inconvenience?]
Howie was immersed in analyzing the situation of these two like he was an expert in the matter. Top or bottom, that doesn’t matter, no?
"Alright, Howie, are you going to stop looking at him like he’s a piece of meat being tossed under your nose, you greedy beast?" snarled Bravael, who finally came out of his stupor thanks to Howie and the way he ogled Theo’s sweet ass, shamelessly.
"And what’s with you? How could you transform yourself like this in front of him so suddenly? " Besides, you couldn’t get your clothes between your teeth, huh?"
"You know, you look like an old man fussing like that for nothing, and you complain way too much. "You’re very mean with your words today."
"He indeed has a nice body." I just noticed it, nothing more. It’s not like I put my claws on all the pretty little asses that pass in front of me. "
"Besides, I covered him; otherwise, I would have left him naked like this and taken all my time enjoying him until I had had enough of staring at him."
"Howie, are you going to shut up or not? Shouldn’t you go out? May I know why you’re still here?"
"It’s none of your business, so don’t mention it, and I don’t feel like going out anymore since there’s a new guest at the house, and things might take a much nicer twist."
"So I thought, why am I rushing to go this far when someone has volunteered at my house? Don’t you think that’s stupid of me?"
"So, Theo, does that tell you I’m taking you to my room?" he asks, intending for Theo while changing his harsh teasing tone to a honeyed one.
"Howie, get away from him," El hurriedly shouted, rushing towards Theo, whom he grabbed by the arm and pulled him towards him abruptly, the latter, who lost his balance and almost fell into El’s arms, who didn’t care how rough he had to be right now.
He put his arms around Theo’s body like a shield of protection, as if that simple gesture could stop Howie from staring at him like a pervert. Theo lets himself be done without saying a word and obediently, like a little kitten, a Theo who is usually a fierce and formidable adversary.
"You should keep your dirty claws away from him. I’m not kidding, Ash, and I have enough spare clothes in my room to cover him. "
He said it in a firm voice that gave off a hint of threat, then he immediately bent down and lifted Theo into his arms in a bridal position, whom he carried to hide him from Howie’s eager gaze.
Amazed by this story’s turn, Theo did not have time to say a single word or protest at the sudden protective barrier that Bravael erected around him without waiting.
So he pulled himself up into his arms, put his arms around El’s neck, and glanced over his shoulder at Howie, watching them with that stupid silly drawn all over his face.
The latter gave him a knowing wink, which he received before hiding his head in El’s neck, who had no idea what was going on behind his back.
"There you go," Howie said to himself. "You just needed a nudge to help you stop playing tough. Look at you, buddy, all worked up just because I lay an eye on your mate." He thinks, watching them walk away from him.
"Hey, I hope you guys know how to properly use that one-on-one time you had today to do something more fun and useful instead of bickering like little girls." He said to them with a small laugh.
"Ash, shut up. When did you get so noisy, man?"
"Ever since, you have peeked into my life and business, buddy." He replies, still in a good mood. He hopes El, once up there, isn’t going to back off like a coward, act like an idiot, and enjoy this little moment he has with Theo. Because whatever he has now isn’t going to last long since a Golden Blood has become embroiled in the story.
"Ah, mate, you’ll need some courage, and don’t worry, I’m here for you. You won’t be alone, but for God’s sake, use those few minutes before nightfall," he mutters as his smiling gaze changes into a dark one.
He continues to beg him internally without pronouncing aloud his concern. He thinks it is better to leave the situation as it is for the moment before throwing this bomb at his stupid friend’s head. Even though he wants to pay El’s head for everything he’s done to him, he doesn’t want him to sink into heartache and distress he can’t bear.
"It looks like someone will officially introduce me to his friend unless he intends to hide him in his room without permission from an adult, to do I don’t know what, and only God knows his filthy thoughts. " So, Marc launched from the second landing just before him, dominating them while blocking his way.
"I have no problem making introductions, but for the moment, he is in no condition. Give me a few minutes to go upstairs and cover him adequately. "
"Okay, okay," answers Marc, who raises his head towards Howie, who follows them. He nods to his father, who steps aside to let them pass.
"Take all the time you need; you’re at home here, young man, so don’t be shy and don’t be intimidated by this big guy who’s carrying you now. He may be so big and strong, but he’s still just a stupid and annoying kid."
He says to Theo, who keeps his head hidden in El’s neck as his breathing on the other skin begins to heat El’s belly like a furnace.
"Oh, one more thing," Marc says to them, but this time it’s for all five. "I’m going to prepare a sign with "Lost Dog Shelter Center" written on it, so the next time one of you lands here unexpectedly, I will know that I have nothing to complain about since it is a refuge for strays here."
They each reacted to these words, but no one took him to heart, even the newcomers. El felt Theo smile against his skin which made him flinch when his soft lips brushed his skin, while he and H rolled their eyes in annoyance, and the Kerfs gave each other amused looks.
Anyone, even a newborn, can perceive in Marc’s tone that he is not quite angry with their company and doesn’t mean to hurt them with those words. He took great care of the Kerfs earlier, so the boys think it’s in his habit to poke at others annoyingly.
Even though they should feel offended at being called strays by a stranger, Marc has that way of putting people at ease, so they feel grateful to be accepted here. They are not offended, so Marc’s attempt to annoy them is fruitless.
El climbed the stairs four at a time despite Theo’s weight in his arms as if the latter weighed not much than a handbag. Does this one not weigh too much despite his well-defined and well-distributed muscles, or perhaps El’s ability to lift heavy weights, which is incredible, makes the task easy for him? Anyway, one of the two.
The two brothers who listened to and followed the scene feel a little embarrassed and uncomfortable by so much demonstration and emotional touching in public by two boys without one feeling embarrassed by the situation, and they all seem very okay with the fact to date boys openly.
Perth released his brother’s hand, which he suddenly found inappropriate to hold his brother’s hands so possessively. As if it was burning him, he just realized something.
He understands that these boys are so cuddly to each other that they feel comfortable snuggling up naked with only an apron on, snuggled lovingly in the arms of another boy who is not his brother. Still, for him and Oliver, it’s different.
This one is his brother. He can’t afford to touch him as these two do. He can’t sleep with him like they’re lovers; they’re brothers.
He had to see this image of Bravael, this boy who gives him headaches whenever he looks at him, with this newcomer in his arms to realize why Oliver always runs away when a conversation between them takes a far too tight turn. Why this one accused him of wanting to fuck him in the middle of the street today.
{My behavior towards him has turned everything upside down in my brother’s head. The way I talk to and look at him makes him uncomfortable. Now I understand if I were in his place, I would have done the same thing.} He thinks his mind is a mess.
Oliver looked up at his brother, who was lost in thought and kept frowning before he took a few steps away, leaving a few good inches between them. There is no danger. He can let him breathe, Perth told himself.
And Oliver suddenly feels empty. He winces for a moment as he glances furtively at his brother at his outstretched hand that he released abruptly a few minutes ago as if it had suddenly repelled him.
The first time in his life that Perth lets go of his hand, it makes him feel uneasy like he wants to die.
