Not All Heroes From Earth Are Bad-Chapter 239
‘What kind of guy is this?’
Kinley Fusel’s nerves were on edge.
An unfamiliar man in her tent.
No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t figure out who it was.
Tall with a sturdy build.
His muscles were so clearly visible through his clothes that you could tell he was well-trained.
Though his shaggy black hair made it hard to see clearly, he seemed to have quite exotic features.
However, what was truly strange wasn’t any of these physical characteristics.
‘When did he get in here?’
How did this stranger get here?
Kinley’s tent is at the center of the pursuit force.
To reach this place, one would have to pass through thousands of holy knights and priests surrounding the area.
‘And he’s perfectly positioned behind me.’
That’s not all.
This man not only entered the tent but also completely fooled Kinley’s eyes and secured a position behind her.
This should be impossible.
Among all the people Kinley knew, only one person was capable of such a feat.
Only the legend Ethan O’Flaherty, who was called the continent’s greatest assassin.
And Ethan O’Flaherty had been dead for over 60 years.
Kinley was certain of this as she had confirmed his death personally.
‘Who is it? Could it be Ethan’s disciple? No. I never heard anything about that guy having a disciple. Could he have hidden it from everyone…?’
The more she thought about it, the more complicated it became.
Just as Kinley’s forehead wrinkles were deepening,
The man opened his mouth.
“I’m asking if you’re Kinley. Why aren’t you answering?”
“It would be polite to introduce yourself before asking who someone is.”
“Ah, right.”
The man scratched his head as if he had forgotten.
With an embarrassed smile, he said.
“Legendary Hero.”
“What?”
“I said, Legendary Hero.”
Kinley’s forehead wrinkled sharply.
Legendary Hero?
Could he be talking about the hero who becomes material for those puppet dolls?
Even so, what’s with the childish modifier ‘legendary’?
“If you came here to make such jokes, you’re going to get hurt badly.”
“It’s not a joke. I really am the Legendary Hero. Right, Rachel?”
“That’s right! Our hero is very legendary!”
A small fairy poked her head out from behind the man’s back – who knows how long she’d been there.
Kinley knew what this was.
A dedicated fairy that accompanies some heroes.
So this man really is a hero.
‘I see… Now I understand.’
Only after confirming he is truly a hero did Kinley recall a certain man.
“You must be Choi Hyun-seok.”
“Oh~ They say you really need to become famous to be recognized.”
Choi Hyun-seok grinned.
As if he was genuinely happy that Kinley recognized him.
Though momentarily angered by his impudence, Kinley calmed herself.
‘The last reported combat power of Choi Hyun-seok was legendary level. And he hasn’t shown himself for half a year.’
Choi Hyun-seok is a hero with an unusual background.
He grew up in the Demon King’s Army and became stronger dozens of times faster than others.
It’s said he reached the entrance of legendary level in less than 2 years – it’s impossible to even gauge how terrifying such a growth rate is.
Honestly, Kinley hadn’t believed those stories, but now that the man himself had appeared, she had to reconsider.
‘It’s an absurd story, but even if only half the rumors are true… It’s impossible to gauge how much stronger he’s become in the past half year.’
If the rumors were true, Choi Hyun-seok would have already surpassed the entrance to the legendary level.
At a minimum, he would be upper-middle rank among legends.
Perhaps he had even become strong enough to rival herself, who possessed the highest rank of power among legends.
‘While it’s not good to overestimate an enemy and become scared preemptively, being careful can’t hurt.’
In any case, this guy had broken through strict security and even perfectly positioned himself behind Kinley.
This fact alone was enough reason to be cautious.
It was something impossible for any ordinary person.
“Well, I’ve told you my identity so you should tell me yours. Kinley Fusel, right?”
“Yes. I am Kinley Fusel.”
“I heard you’re among the top three legends. Is that true too?”
Kinley smirked.
Top three, huh.
She had indeed heard that people evaluated her that way.
“I’m not particularly interested in such childish rankings, but I’m confident I won’t lose to anyone I fight.”
“Good. That’s all I needed to know.”
Choi Hyun-seok nodded and suddenly disappeared from his spot.
“Now die.”
A voice right beside her.
Kinley instinctively raised her mace.
KWAAANG-!
Along with a tremendous explosion, a violent impact shook her entire body.
Just one strike.
Just one collision between them, but the entire tent went flying.
Kinley steadied her stance and gripped her mace more tightly.
‘As expected… He’s no ordinary opponent.’
In that last attack, Choi Hyun-seok hadn’t used demonic energy.
Probably that alien power called mana.
Using just that power to attack yet producing this much force.
Setting aside the nature of the power itself, the sheer quantity he possessed is tremendous.
Just comparing raw quantities, Kinley thought it might even exceed her own magical power.
While she was analyzing his power,
Choi Hyun-seok, who had somehow approached, gave a sly smile.
“So you really are in the top three of legends. You’re holding up better than I expected.”
“Don’t underestimate me!” 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
An enormous light burst from Kinley’s mace as she charged forward.
World Shattering Technique
Form 1 – Splitting Head
A simple downward swing of the mace from top to bottom.
Choi Hyun-seok instinctively chose to dodge rather than block.
The mace brushed past his nose just as he stepped back.
KWAAAAAANG-!
As the mace touched the ground, an explosion incomparable to the previous one erupted.
The ground shook as if an earthquake had struck, and everything nearby was blown away by the shockwave.
Not just the central tent, but even the soldiers who had gathered due to the commotion were swept up, turning everything into chaos instantly.
“Whew, that’s no joke.”
Choi Hyun-seok let himself ride the wind to create distance.
Looking down at the ground, he could see a massive crater as if a meteorite had struck.
He shook his head with a shocked expression.
“What kind of magical power is that? The aggressiveness is far more intense than demonic energy?”
Generally, the advantages of magical power, demonic energy, and holy power are clearly distinct.
Demonic energy excels in extreme aggression.
Magical power has versatility and balance.
Holy power has stability and recovery.
But this Kinley Fusel’s magical power was more aggressive than demonic energy.
It had transcended the inherent limitations of its nature.
“This person isn’t just any crazy one. Definitely a level above older sister Park Hyun-a.”
Among all the magical power users Choi Hyun-seok had seen, Park Hyun-a had the most aggressive power.
She was overwhelmingly first place, incomparable to anyone else in terms of aggression.
But Kinley Fusel seemed to have even more aggressive power than Park Hyun-a.
It’s fortunate they were born human – if they had been born as a demon race and handled demonic energy, they would have caused some serious trouble.
“Well, this is enough to make it worth trying.”
Choi Hyun-seok lightly dusted off his arms and legs.
Though it was just a brief clash, it was enough to analyze their power.
The enemy’s destructive power was high-level, but that was all.
It didn’t seem impossible to handle.
No, in a one-on-one fight, he was confident he wouldn’t lose.
“You rat-like bastard! You’re quite good at dodging!”
Kinley shouted angrily from the ground.
Choi Hyun-seok was dumbfounded.
“Has this old person gone senile? Of course I’m going to dodge something that brutal, should I just get hit?”
“Shut up, you rat!”
“This…!”
Veins popped on Choi Hyun-seok’s forehead.
Being called a rat just for dodging one attack.
Though it was probably meant to provoke him, being annoyed is better.
Choi Hyun-seok kicked the air with an evil smile.
“Let’s see how tough you are.”
Reaching Kinley’s front in the blink of an eye, Choi Hyun-seok.
Purple energy swirled around his body.
Nobilrace
Form 4 – Authoritative Death
An extending fist.
Along with it, vast mana swirled and was released.
Kinley’s eyes widened and quickly kicked the ground to move.
KWAAAAAAANG-!
Hundreds of meters along the path of his extended fist were completely destroyed.
Seeing this, cold sweat ran down Kinley’s back.
‘This is unexpected…’
In terms of pure power, it wasn’t at all inferior to her own.
No, to be honest, it seemed to be above her level.
If she had tried to block instead of dodge, she probably would have taken serious damage.
Just then, a playful voice reached Kinley’s ears.
“You were going on about rats earlier, but now you’re running away without even looking back.”
“That’s right! Kihit! Now who’s the rat? Huh? Who’s the rat?”
“Rachel. That’s not just any rat! It’s a hypocritical rat with no conscience!”
“Adultery! It’s an adulterous rat! Kihihit!”
The hero and his dedicated fairy laughed together.
Hearing their conversation, Kinley’s face instantly turned bright red.
Surprisingly, many people are vulnerable to such childish and primitive attacks, and Kinley Fusel was one of them.
“I’ll kill you!”
Magical power erupted frantically from her body.
The pressure alone made one’s skin tingle.
Choi Hyun-seok whistled lightly while rolling his shoulders.
“Then shall we move on to the main game?”
“I’ll crush you without leaving a trace!”
Just as Kinley was about to kick off the ground with her mace,
Someone grabbed her arm.
“Kinley Fusel! Stop!”
“Gelling! What are you doing!?”
It was another legend, Gelling.
He shouted with a rather stern expression.
“What am I doing? I should be asking you that! Are you planning to kill all the holy knights and priests here!?”
“That’s right. Get a hold of yourself and move calmly, Kinley.”
Even Asmund, who came with Gelling, scolded Kinley.
Kinley calmed her anger with a sigh.
Only then did she start to notice the surrounding landscape.
“P-please save me…”
“Priest! Where are the priests!? There are injured people here!”
“Form ranks! Don’t run away!”
Pure chaos.
People wailing, running away, struggling to survive.
Though some commanders who maintained their composure tried to control the situation, it was beyond their ability.
Arms and legs were scattered everywhere, and there were those who collapsed while trying to collect their spilling entrails.
‘What have I done…’
As they say, when whales fight, the shrimp’s back is broken.
Even if they were holy knights, getting caught up in such a battle without preparation could only lead to meaningless deaths.
At a minimum, one needed to be hero-rank to barely withstand this.
Kinley bit her lip hard.
“I’m sorry. I got too excited.”
She calmed her excitement and looked at her companions.
While it’s true she got excited, she couldn’t stop the battle.
Now that her companions had arrived, it was time to corner him.
“That’s Choi Hyun-seok. I don’t know where he’s been hiding all this time, but he’s no ordinary opponent. We need to be careful. One moment of carelessness and we’re done.”
“He’s already fled.”
“What…?”
Kinley quickly surveyed the surroundings.
Choi Hyun-seok, who had been right there, was nowhere to be seen.
As Gelling said, he had run away.
“That son of a bitch!”
“Leave it. Right now, getting this place under control is the priority.”
“What are you saying!? He’s dangerous! We need to kill him right here!”
As Kinley started to get excited again, Gelling grabbed her shoulder.
“You know it too. An opponent like that can’t be caught by simple pursuit. We need to make a proper trap and lure him in.”
“What basis do you have for such…”
“Sara Dunphy and Park Hyun-a.”
Kinley shut her mouth at the mention of these two unforgettable names.
“Didn’t you learn while chasing those two? Mindless pursuit won’t work. It will only increase our casualties. What if that guy is working with Park Hyun-a? All the forces here could be killed while we’re gone.”
“That’s…”
Kinley, who was about to say something, hung her head low.
Gelling was right.
The holy knights and priests are valuable human resources.
Though they showed unseemly behavior just now due to the sudden situation, they could demonstrate significant power if they moved to a properly prepared stage.
Such forces couldn’t be put at risk with an unstable operation.
“For now, we’ll clean up this scene and withdraw. Later, we’ll report to His Holiness the Pope. About Choi Hyun-seok’s reappearance.”
“Understood…”
Kinley sighed and rubbed her face.
It seemed she wouldn’t be sleeping peacefully for a while.
