Chapter 141: This Thing Is So Strong

Leo and Veladra followed her gaze, noticing the faint marks on the ground, crushed leaves and broken branches that hinted at a recent movement. Without hesitation, they turned in that direction.

He led the two demons down the path while readying his Mana Barrier to protect them in case any monsters attacked. While walking, Leo scanned their surrounds and felt an influx of mana that caused his eyes to narrow.

’Seems like dungeon creatures are closing in on me,’ he thought before stopping.

This caught the women’s attention, causing Astra to whisper beside him, ’’What’s wrong handsome?’’

’’Monsters are going to attack,’’ Leo replied while casting Mana Barrier around them just as a mantis-like beast lunged from the underbrush.

Veladra yelped just as the Demon Queen cast a Shadow Blast into the monster’s torso just as Leo arrived and punched the creature, causing it to shoot off into the treeline just as more appeared.

The dungeon beasts surrounded them, but that’s when Veladra acted and sent out a wave of purple fire that turned the attackers into ash. Following that, he quickly used Doomwave that destroyed the remaining monsters.

’They shouldn’t be able to withstand my magic, its too powerful for them,’ he thought with excitement.

Moments later, the jungle fell into an eerie silence once again, the usual sounds of nature fading as if holding its breath. The trio pressed on, their steps cautious as they continued searching for the entrance to the second floor.

Leo’s senses were razor sharp, his mana flowing out in a steady, cautious wave, scanning the area for any hidden threats, but he couldn’t sense anything, so the three continued traveling through the jungle.

They pressed forward through the dense jungle; the foliage surrounded them like a wall. The air was humid and heavy, thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves. As they pushed past a cluster of thick vines, the trees thinned, revealing a strange clearing.

He stepped out first, followed by the women as the group spotted a large lake. Its surface dark was like a mirror. The water was unnaturally black, reflecting the jungle’s twisted branches in eerie silence.

’There’s something here,’ he thought while scanning their surroundings. ’I don’t know where it is. The monster must be as strong as me.’

Following that, Leo noticed there were no sounds of wildlife, only the unsettling quiet of the place. The lake’s surface shimmered with a faint, unnatural glow as the air felt colder here, and a sense of dread seemed to hang in the air, pressing in on them from all sides.

The trees around the lake reached out like claws, casting long, jagged shadows that stretched across the water’s surface. Leo felt his senses prickling, his mana expanding outward, but there was something wrong, something off about the place.

His normally calm demeanor shifted slightly as he narrowed his eyes at the lake. ’’This place... it feels wrong,’’ he commented.

’’Yes I agree,’’ Astra replied while scanning the water. ’’If I remember correctly, there weren’t any lakes or rivers on the first floor.’’

Veladra agreed with a nod before Leo questioned, ’’Then why is this happening? Is the dungeon going crazy or something?’’

The two women shrugged as the Demon Queen speculated, ’’I guess this place has gathered too much mana and is now changing the layout. We should turn back in case we get trapped down here.’’

Leo was about to agree when a deafening roar suddenly echoed from the depths of the lake, snapping their attention toward the sound. Before they could react, the water parted, sending a chill down their spines.

His instincts screamed danger, and without hesitation, he shoved the women to the side. The very moment they were out of the way, the lake erupted. A massive, monstrous eel shot out of the water, its sleek body smashing through the air like a living missile.

’Here it is!’ he thought with wide eyes.

Leo barely had time to react as the creature rushed toward him. With lightning reflexes, he caught its jaws in mid-air, his arms straining with the force of its weight and fury. The eel’s razor-sharp teeth scraped his body as he fought to keep it from slicing him in half.

Every muscle in his body screamed as he held the creature at bay, the water around them churning violently. It thrashed violently in Leo’s grip, its sinewy body coiling and twisting with raw power, sending waves crashing across the lake.

The air was thick with tension as he fought to keep its horrifying teeth at bay, its teeth snapping dangerously close to his flesh with every movement. His muscles screamed in protest.

’This thing is so strong!’ he internally screamed as he used all his power. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Seconds later, its massive tail slamming into the water with terrifying force, sending shockwaves through the jungle. His feet dug into the muddy ground, and with a growl of determination, he twisted his body, using the eel’s momentum against it.

With a fierce shout, he kicked off the ground, pushing its head back and forcing it to the side. For a split second, the creature’s enormous body crashed back into the water with a deafening splash, sending waves surging outward.

The jungle seemed to hold its breath. But the eel was not done. It rose again, far angrier, its body undulating through the water with unnatural speed. Leo’s heart pounded as he felt the rush of air from its violent movements.

’’Here it comes again!’’ he muttered while gritting his teeth.

Leo knew it was fast, too fast. With no time to think, he lunged forward and quickly landed several Supernova Punches on the monster’s body as he sidestepped its attack and caused a boom to ring out.

He skidded backward across the ground as the force of his punches propelled the eel-like creature through the air. It sailed across the lake before crashing onto the far bank. Leo exhaled in relief, but his reprieve was short-lived.

His instincts screamed a warning just as a second monster emerged, far larger than the first, and it suddenly attacked. With a sweep of its massive tail, it struck him and sent him hurling through the dense jungle.

Pain rushed though his body, but the monster chased after him while letting out a roar, forcing him to land on two feet just as he went to bit. Leo sidestepped and hit the creature with a dozen California Smashes just as the women engaged the smaller one.

His fists connecting with the massive eel’s head sent it crashing to the ground, causing several booms to echo out. He continued attacking, but started using Thunderbolt that stunned the monster.

Explosions rocked the first floor, the chaos splitting into two fierce battles. Astra and Veladra clashed with the smaller eel, steadily gaining the upper hand. Meanwhile, Leo found himself in a stalemate with his opponent, their strength evenly matched.

Blood dripped down his battered body, staining the floor beneath him. His left arm hung limp, the result of a vicious bite that had caught him off guard. The monster’s jaws had sunk deep, leaving him struggling to recover as the battle raged on.

’’Fuck!’’ he muttered while spitting out some blood.

The giant eel was shuddering as pain racked its body, half of its jaw was missing while an eye dangled out. Leo chuckled before taunting the monster. ’’Looks like you aren’t as strong as you think you’re. Now I’ll kill you.’’

Summoning every ounce of strength he had left, Leo dashed forward in a blur, moving with blinding speed. Channeling mana into his fist, he unleashed a devastating Lightning Punch that tore into the eel.

The impact sent a crackling surge through its body, searing its insides. The creature let out a piercing, pain-filled screech, its cries echoing across the battlefield as his roar echoed just before the monster died.

He felt his energy draining and his body became weak. Once the explosion faded, he stumbled back and sat on a nearby log while resting. Ten minutes later, Leo felt someone cupping his cheeks, causing him to open his eyes to see the beautiful Astra.

’’Hello gorgeous,’’ he said in a groggy voice.

The Demon Queen giggled before kissing him on the forehead, ’’Let’s get to a Safe Room and rest. Vel found one nearby.’’

Leo agreed with a nod and followed the white-haired demoness as his body slowly recovered from the fight. Veladra looked back at him with a concerned expression before asking, ’’Are you okay?’’

’’Yes, the monster got a few good hits on me and ruined my left arm,’’ he replied with a chuckle. ’’But it will get better soon.’’

The two women looked worried, but he waved them away. ’’Let’s rest. I need to sleep to recover quicker.’’

Ten minutes later, the three of them stepped into the Safe Room which was in every dungeon to help divers rest for a few hours.
