Obtaining Legendray Dragon Template At The Start As A Side-Character!-Chapter 52: Unexpected Announcement
The distance between them was not more than a few meters, but the air felt heavier than before. Dry leaves were crushed under their feet, and the sound of Zane’s and Lucien’s heavy breathing could be heard between the trees.
"Alive?" Diana let out a low sound. They were not stupid. They understood the meaning behind Reinh’s words.
He did not say they would leave without injuries. He only said alive. That meant he had no plan to let them leave in good condition. No matter what, he wanted to teach them a lesson.
"The result is not decided yet. Don’t be too arrogant," Lucien said angrily. There was no calm expression left on his face.
They had already understood the difference in skill. No matter how much they hated to admit it, they were not Reinh’s match. If this was a one-on-one fight, all three of them would lose.
They did not know what they should feel. Anger? Humiliation? Rage? Hatred?
For years, they believed they were the best. They competed for the position of the strongest. But Reinh was simply suppressing all three of them and fighting them at the same time.
"In any case, you must pay the price for attacking my group," Reinh said, ignoring their words.
"What should we do?" Diana looked at the other two and asked.
"We continue fighting. We are more in number. Sooner or later, he will get tired," Zane answered in a rough voice.
Lucien nodded. He was also sure that Reinh had limits. Sooner or later, he would become tired, and that would be their chance to win.
Diana raised her thin sword. There was no more hesitation in her eyes.
This time, none of them planned to hold back.
Zane moved first.
With a rough shout, he stomped the ground and rushed straight at Reinh. His strike was no longer only wild. He put his entire body weight behind it. The ground under his feet sank slightly, and his sword came down from above like an axe.
At the same time, Lucien turned to the left and tried to get behind Reinh. There was no simple trick this time. He had increased his speed as much as possible. His movements were short and calculated. His targets were joints and blind spots.
Diana also entered from the right. Her thin sword flashed and moved toward Reinh’s neck at a precise angle. Her strikes were not meant to finish him, but to create openings for the other two.
Three directions. Three different styles.
But Reinh was still the stable center of the battlefield.
He took Zane’s strike with equal force. The sound of wood hitting wood was sharp and heavy. Before Zane could pull back his sword, Reinh stepped forward and drove his knee into Zane’s stomach. Zane stepped back again, but this time he did not fall.
At that same moment, Lucien reached Reinh’s back. His blade moved toward the back of Reinh’s knee.
Reinh turned. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Not fully. Only enough so that the blade hit his lower leg instead of his knee. The pain was light. It did not matter.
Reinh’s sword moved in a short and fast motion and hit Lucien’s wrist. The sound of cracking wood was heard. Lucien’s sword cracked and fell from his hand.
Diana did not waste the chance.
She stepped forward and delivered three fast strikes in a row, aiming at Reinh’s shoulder and side. One of the strikes landed properly and left a red mark on Reinh’s skin.
Diana’s eyes became sharper.
But at that exact moment, Reinh brought his free arm forward, deflected her blade with his forearm, and with a fast turn struck her directly in the stomach. The air left Diana’s lungs and she stepped back several steps.
Zane attacked again. This time without shouting. Only pure violence. Heavy strikes, one after another, without pause.
For the first time, Reinh stepped back a few steps.
Lucien, who had picked up a new sword, joined again. All three attacked with their full power.
But even in this situation, the advantage was clear.
Reinh did not simply block their strikes. He guided them. He changed their paths. He returned their own energy against them. Every time one of them got close, a short and precise strike hit their body.
Zane dropped to one knee.
Lucien was struck from the side and thrown against a tree.
Diana stood again, her breathing now irregular.
The same thought formed in the minds of all three.
This is not logical. How can the difference be this big? No matter how strong Reinh is, the gap should not be this wide. In front of him, they were no different from weak insects.
"This boy... is he really our age?" Zane thought with his teeth clenched.
Lucien felt hidden fear in his heart. All his calculations were useless. He could not find a single opening. Not a single weakness. And this bastard did not even look tired.
After all this fighting, only his breathing had become slightly heavier.
Diana realized that her own blood brother was no longer her only greatest rival.
Reinh stepped forward.
He struck Zane’s shoulder and forced him completely to the ground. Then he hit Lucien’s face with the back of his hand and made him lose balance.
"It seems you need help."
At that moment, a voice came from behind Reinh.
Reinh did not pause, but his eyes became slightly darker.
Julian.
He stepped forward with a wooden sword in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty, but his gaze was firm.
Diana and the other two were shocked for a moment.
"Good," Lucien smiled. He was not surprised that this boy had betrayed his own group.
After all, he knew his personality. And now he had come again to help them.
"How did a trash bastard like you dare to take the leadership position from me? Today you will pay the price!" Julian did not take his eyes off Reinh.
Without warning, he attacked Reinh from behind.
His blade hit Reinh’s back and forced him to take half a step forward.
Now they were four. Zane in front, Diana on the left, Lucien on the right, and Julian behind.
A complete encirclement. Without previous coordination but with the same goal, they attacked together.
Strikes landed one after another. A few light hits landed on Reinh’s body. His clothes were more torn. His breathing became slightly heavier.
But his gaze was still calm.
Julian shouted and attacked, trying to finish it with a direct strike to Reinh’s head.
Reinh suddenly turned. His sword hit Julian’s side with strong force. A faint sound of bone cracking was heard. Before Julian understood what happened, a second strike hit his stomach and he fell to the ground.
Reinh did not stop. He stepped forward and delivered a heavy strike to Julian’s chest. The air left his lungs. His eyes turned white.
One more strike. Julian lay motionless on the ground. Not dead, but close to it.
The remaining three froze for a moment. Four against one. And still nothing had changed.
"This... is not a human," Zane said with a low voice.
Julian’s presence had made no difference. He was eliminated almost immediately after joining.
For the first time, Diana clearly felt fear.
Just when they prepared to attack again, the referee’s voice echoed across the forest.
"One flag bracelet has been placed on the platform. Reinh’s group is announced as one of the two winners of Phase Two."
For a moment, everything stopped. Zane, Lucien, and Diana looked around in disbelief.
Winners...?
Reinh stood calmly. He lowered his wooden sword. A cold smile appeared on his face
