Oh No, Daddy Sent Me To The Beast World!-Chapter 41: Worried Lion
They had all looked at her.
They had all listened to her.
They had all watched her pour out her pain like a river.
And then her father had simply cut the hologram and left her here.
Left her here!
In this stone age beast world where even getting hot water for a bath required planning, labor, and apparently one giant silent lion!
Lin Huahua stood there blankly, still holding the stone shelf for support, and the more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt.
Her nose turned red first.
Then her eyes became watery.
Then her lips began to tremble.
The brave little front she had been keeping up all day suddenly cracked into pieces.
How could she not feel sad?
In the sci-fi world, her life had been perfect.
Not just good.
Perfect.
If she wanted food, food came.
If she wanted clothes, clothes came.
If she wanted entertainment, comfort, light, warmth, music, snacks, a soft bed, help, attention, or ten people to tell her she was adorable, all she had to do was lift one finger.
Everything there was advanced. Clean. Easy. Bright. Familiar.
Most importantly, her family was there.
Her mother was there.
Her father was there.
Her brothers were there.
Her friends were there.
Even when she acted spoiled and unreasonable, someone was always around to indulge her.
But here?
Here she had to think about leaves.
Leaves!
She had to walk on dirt.
She had to wonder whether she could survive without a shower.
She had to learn life skills like some hardworking little person in a moral lesson drama.
The more Lin Huahua thought about it, the sadder she became.
Then, before she knew it, tears really began to fall.
At first, they only rolled down quietly from the corners of her eyes, making her lashes wet and her cheeks shiny.
Then once the first tears came, more followed.
And once more followed, Lin Huahua’s grievance truly burst open.
She lowered her head and cried with small choking sounds, looking exactly like a little white rat who had been abandoned in the rain with no snacks and no dignity left.
At that same moment, Hu Baiyu happened to walk back in.
The white lion had gone out to prepare things for her bath and had just returned carrying the tub with him. He had moved carefully because of his injuries, but he was still fast enough. In his mind, he had been thinking only one thing.
He had to do this well.
He had to make the water right.
He had to make sure his little female would be comfortable.
So when he stepped back inside and saw her standing there crying, his whole body froze.
Then the next second, the empty tub slipped from his hands and hit the ground with a loud thump.
Hu Baiyu did not even look at it.
He did not care.
All he could see was his Lin Huahua crying.
Crying.
Actually crying.
His heart clenched so hard that it almost hurt more than his injuries.
Panic shot through him immediately.
He did not know what had happened.
He had only gone out for a short while.
Just a short while!
When he left, she had still been fine.
How had she suddenly become like this?
Hu Baiyu forgot everything else and rushed toward her at once.
Normally, he would never dare act so boldly. In the past, Lin Huahua hated being touched without permission. If he reached for her carelessly, she might slap his hand away, scold him, or even punish him for overstepping.
But right now, Hu Baiyu could not think about any of that.
He only knew that she was crying.
His female was crying.
His heart already felt so pained that he could barely breathe, so how could he stand there and do nothing?
He reached her in only a few steps and bent down quickly, his blue lion eyes full of worry. He looked at her face, then at her tears, then at her trembling lips, and the confusion in his eyes grew even heavier.
He wanted to ask what was wrong.
He wanted to ask who had upset her.
He wanted to ask whether she was hurt, whether someone had bullied her, whether she felt unwell, whether she was frightened.
If Feng Yiren were here, that fox would definitely ask ten questions in one breath.
If Mu Qingyi were here, the deer would ask gently and coax her slowly.
But Hu Baiyu could not speak.
That fact hit him especially hard now.
For one terrible moment, he hated his own silence.
He hated that his mouth could not form the words his heart so badly wanted to say.
He hated that he could only stand there and look at her like a fool while she cried.
Hu Baiyu’s brows tightened, and because he was too anxious, he finally did the only thing he could think of.
He reached out and held her.
Lin Huahua, whose vision was already blurry with tears, lifted her wet eyes and saw Hu Baiyu’s worried face right in front of her.
She stared at him.
He stared at her.
His arms were around her carefully, not too tight, but firm enough to tell her that he was there.
For some reason, the moment Lin Huahua looked at his face, the sadness in her chest suddenly shifted.
This giant lion had clearly just rushed over in a panic.
He looked so worried that he seemed even more nervous than she was.
He could not speak.
He did not know what to ask.
He only knew to come hold her.
And just like that, Lin Huahua’s grievance rose again, but in a different way.
So she did what her little rat heart wanted to do.
She flung herself forward and hugged him.
Hu Baiyu froze.
Completely froze.
His whole large body went stiff.
His eyes widened.
His lion tail, which had been hanging low behind him, stopped moving entirely.
