Omega Summoner-Chapter 2389: I am a Dog I
(Adrian POV)
In this world, the perks of being a cute animal is also translated because I am practically worshipped! The maids that were adverse of talking or taking care of me suddenly became softer when I showed them my cute side. The guards that act tough would shift their attitudes to a softer tone and pat my head. Those that do not like pets just kept heir distance as I am basically treated like an extended noble.
When the guards learned that I could give them a pill that gives energy, all of them practically tried to play with me. Some had this greedy glint in their eyes as the guard that I gifted earlier has shown it to others. That guard is now in seclusion as he tried to absorb all of the energy of that pill.
The pill that I gave the guard is basically an ordinary pill that Brew casually creates when he is bored of creating potions. He gave it all to the guild members as gifts as it is a unique pill that can restore health and stamina at the same time. It seems that this pill is great for lower tier Immortals that have just taken a starting point in cultivation.
Since Levin Cloud and Peridot had to keep up the act that they need rest, it was now up to me to investigate everything. I learned much about the secrets of the maids like where they hide their sweets or who is the most handsome guard. Information that I cannot use if taken in a surface layer, but they do say more after a few minutes.
It seems that in the eastern continent, the look of a person is more important for women. Warriors want a beautiful and homely wife as their life is basically a battle every day. Also, I learned that an Immortal would have lesser chance of having an offspring with the higher stage of cultivation that they have. It seems that the world itself imposes a rule that longer lived beings will have lesser chance of creating life to balance it out.
Anyways, after the maids discussed the physical appearance of the people in the alliance and ranked them, I learned the power structure of this place. They call it the Alliance, but the full name is actually the Murim Alliance. There is currently the Alliance Leader and Vice Leader that runs the organization. Also, the Murim Alliance has representatives for ten clans that acts as a board of some sort.
They said that the ten clans are decided based on a competition called the Divine Beast Competition. Basically, the ten clans will be decided based on the strength of the younger generation that entered. Five of the ten spots in the ten clans are decided based on the results of this competition. The other five are decided based on the contribution of what a clan can give.
The Murim Alliance basically fostered an environment that trains their younger generations which is a great way of empowering the youth. I know why they did this though as the eastern continent is not as safe a people think it is. Even with the protection of the divine beasts, the eastern continent is filled with unknown danger. This competition is also a way to raise the young to be able to fend for themselves should dangers arise.
If the central continent can be described as a place where danger is like a barking dog, the eastern continent's danger is like a hissing snake. In the central continent, the danger is loud and can be easily spotted but the eastern continent can strike without anyone knowing. This is also the reason why fatalities are actually more common in the eastern continent. The numbers of fatalities in the central continent are just larger in number because of the bigger land mass.
As I no longer cared of the information that is being told by the maids as they changed the topic to hairpins, I wiggled my way out and head towards the training grounds. I found most of the guards training there. It seems that sparring is always done in the eastern continent as a way to test an individual's ability to fight.
Unlike the central continent where people determine power by one's mana, the eastern continent determines power based on fighting ability. An Immortal with less energy but more lethal fighting style is better than an Immortal with large energy and audacious fighting style. The guards seemed to be giving it their all when they saw me as if they were trying to impress me.
Yes! Entertain me and I might bless you with an energy pill! The fighting style they are practicing is indeed very informative to me as they use different weapons. I am getting a lot of pointers in terms of fighting that may work for me in the real world. I might finally be able to win against my mother! Of course, I will only do this when I am fully healed but I am actually dreading the day that comes.
"Whose dog is this?" A voice suddenly stated as I smelled a unique scent suddenly coming from behind me.
"Lady Tang! Please be careful as that is the beast contracted with the Firefeather nobles." One of the guards replied.

A delicate set of hands suddenly picked me up and I can smell the different fumes coming off her. She had a very nice scent but that is just a mask of what is underneath it. She would have fooled a person when it comes to smell, but I am currently borrowing Sirius senses. I can smell the thick scent of poison from this woman, but I did not make a fuss as she did not emit any killing intent.
"This black dog is so cute! I should ask the Firefeather clan to gift me one just like it." Lady Tang stated.
"Please follow me, Lady Tang. The Murim Alliance Leader would like to see you now." An attendant suddenly stated as I was put down by the lady that picked me up.
