One would think that creating your own nemesis is not a smart thing to do but the vampires had no choice. The Crazed Blood Queens created hordes of blood loving uncontrollable bloodsuckers. The dark age of the vampires terrorized humanity at its finest because of the delusions of some vampires that reached their peak potential.

The vampires of old had no choice but to create the Vampire Hunters using forbidden magic. The first to receive this blessing was one of the old ancestors of the Argento royal family. They were mere knights of the Old Vampire Council or at least what was left when the Crazed Blood Queens left.

Using forbidden magic, the Argento Family was transformed into the first ever Vampire Hunters. They became the pinnacle hunters of vampires, and they managed to sweep away the crazed bloodsuckers that the Crazed Blood Queens unleased. They were not the only ones created by the Old Vampire Council, but the blood used to create them is from one of the oldest houses which is the Edelblud family.

Vampire Hunters are created using the magically infused blood of vampires. This enabled them to have stronger strength compared to normal humans in order to match the vampires. They also gained enhanced night vision which made them able to hunt even during the night. Not only that, but vampire hunters also have a trait in their blood that detects vampires.

A vampire hunter’s blood would boil when they are in the vicinity of a vampire. They would feel an urge to kill, and this is stronger if the vampire they are with has feasted on the blood of the innocent. Against vampires, the vampire hunters are indeed a good deterrent, but the Old Vampire Council did not give them all the power.

The Vampire Hunters which are the first generation, where the forbidden spell is strongest, are unable to contend with the Crazed Blood Queens. The Crazed Blood Queens were as powerful as the ones that created the vampire hunters and that is the safety measure of the Old Vampire Council. The Vampire Hunters could not defeat the Crazed Blood Queens, and the Old Vampire Council is weakened.

In the end, the Vampire Hunters were somewhat reduced in number with the Old Vampire Council heavily injured. They were able to stop the Crazed Blood Queens, but they could not completely kill all of them. The remaining Crazed Blood Queens had to be sealed which they were able to do with the sacrifice of some old vampires.

The remaining five of the ten Crazed Blood Queens were sealed and are sent off to the families of the remaining five Vampire Hunters. The vampire hunters were given the task of making sure that the seal of the Crazed Blood Queens will never be unleased as they could once again plunge the night in terror. The vampires should have monitored the seals of the Crazed Blood Queens every century or so but those that know entered sleep.

When everything was already forgotten due to the passage of time, a series of unfortunate events will happen. The five Vampire Hunter Families did not remain prestigious over the years and also forgot the vow they made to protect the seals on the Crazed Blood Queens. The Argento Family no longer had the same solidarity that they had back in the day.

A family that becomes royalty has become steeped in politics and backstabbing. In the end, one of the incompetent members of the Argento Family unleased the most powerful of the sealed Crazed Blood Queens. The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was unleashed from her seal and almost eliminated all members of the Argento Family. Fortunately for them, the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was weakened when it was unleashed.

The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha did kill most of the Argento Family, but she did not escape uninjured. The current king of the Argento Family was still a powerful swords master despite them no longer hunting vampires. The blood of the Argento Family boiled that day and struck the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha. The hidden traits of their blood that was forgotten through time surfaced that day.

The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha tried to drink the blood of the dead members of the family but there is also a special curse in their blood. The Old Vampire Council knew that one cannot eliminate vampires when their own blood could be controlled. The Old Vampire Council made sure to have the blood of Vampire Hunters become poisonous even to them. This was the best protection that they can give that will hunt the nobility of the night.

The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha got poisoned that day and had to flee for her life. The Argento Family tried to chase but the awakening of the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was not an accident. A vampire family that wanted to awaken her has waited just outside the kingdom. They rescued the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha from her potential death.

All of this information was told by Duchess Leticia as she already knew the story of how the Crazed Blood Queens got unsealed. The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha then unsealed the others while also decimating the vampire hunters in the process. She gained the title of Terror of the Night once more and placed a spotlight unto the vampires once again.

Fortunately for the vampires, the news of the Crazed Blood Queens did not spread a lot as their activity coincided with the appearance of dark gods and distorted gods. The vampires were able to somewhat control the situation by eliminating any fledgling vampires that were newly created. The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha managed to somewhat gain and control their creation artifact to create new vampires.

The creation relic, New Moon, was supposed to be in the hands of one of the oldest vampire families and protect it but they became traitors. They gave New Moon to the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha once again in order to create new vampires. The creation relic, New Moon, could only be activated when at least five members of the Old Vampire Council activates it, but the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha managed to bypass it.

The reason is due to the fact that the Crazed Blood Queens was one of the consorts of the Vampire Asmodian Ancestor. She became one of the wives of the Asmodian Vampire Ancestor and is transformed directly using his blood. She became a Vampire Queen at the very first instance but never inherited his Asmodian blood as this can only be transferred naturally by birth or incredibly special means.

The Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was also the keeper of New Moon and was able to wield it using her own power. She was one of the powerful consorts that had the blessing of the Vampire Asmodian Ancestor. It is also the reason why she lost her mind and started to show signs of spiraling when her beloved died against the distorted gods.

Now that the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha gained control of the creation relic, she started to unleash the army of the night. There are other ways to turn others into vampires, but the success rate is not always certain. One way is to feed on the blood of an old Vampire that is at least a Viscount as they tend to be at least 500 years old. This process was not painless though as turning into a vampire will literally twist your entire body during the transition.

A large portion of those that are turned to vampires using this method will die in agonizing pain. There is a record of only about 5% of beings successfully transformed using this method. Still, the Crazed Blood Queens used this method often when the Night of Terror occurred which is why the casualties were thousands in those dark times.

"It seems that you were lucky then, sister." Adrian stated as Solstice was transformed into a vampire using that way.

"It did tickle a little." Solstice replied.

"The second method might not be good but those that are created using this method are all on par or more powerful than their parents when they age." Duchess Leticia stated, and this is one of the reasons why Solstice was more powerful than vampires older than her.

"So, when will we start the search?" Adrian asked.

"It would take a day to travel from here to Argento Kingdom. I think all of you need to rest and form a plan as I will not let any of you go there without any backup." Duchess Leticia stated but Adrian suddenly coughed.

"Demon here... remember. I asked when we will start but that was more of a formality. I was asking how many minutes the others will need to prepare. With me here, one day could be just a second of travel as I already have the coordinates for the Argento Kingdom. They are close to one of the places I travelled for runes before." Adrian stated as he pointed to himself.
