On Our Wedding Day My Husband Announced His First Love Online-Chapter 69: Something’s Going On Between Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard
Vincent Lombard was dressed especially formally today. His dyed-black hair was combed with meticulous care, giving him the very picture of a successful, elite businessman.
It had to be said, compared to the average man in his forties or fifties, Vincent Lombard had kept himself looking quite young. Thanks to years of working out, his physique was still in good shape, and he didn’t look at all like a man approaching fifty.
"Mr. Lombard, what are you doing here?" Clara Langley looked at Vincent Lombard, her face a mask of surprise. It didn’t look like an act; she likely genuinely had no idea.
"Of course I came to support my dear Clara!" Vincent Lombard’s face broke into a wide, pleasant smile as he leaned in closer to her. "You didn’t know, did you? I’m the one who invested in your next film."
"What?" Clara Langley looked completely taken aback. She immediately reached out and hugged Vincent Lombard’s arm. "Thank you, Mr. Lombard."
I watched them coldly from the shadows. The mere thought that my suspicions might be true made my stomach churn with nausea.
"Have some water."
Just then, a glass of warm water was handed to me.
"Thank you." I quickly took it.
After a few sips, the feeling of nausea finally subsided.
But when I looked up again toward Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard, they were nowhere to be seen.
"Where’d they go?" I couldn’t help but stand up, instinctively looking around.
"Not so fast." Sebastian Forrest’s hands suddenly cupped the sides of my head and gently turned it in a specific direction. "They went that way."
I immediately wanted to run after them, but Sebastian Forrest grabbed my wrist. "Hold on."
"For what?" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Sebastian Forrest’s lips curled into a wicked, unrestrained smirk. "To let the kindling meet the flame."
"..."
’What a sly fox...’
The minutes ticked by, and I was growing more and more anxious. Sebastian Forrest, on the other hand, remained completely at ease. He even produced a plate of fruit from somewhere and offered it to me.
Once I had finished off half the plate of fruit, Sebastian Forrest finally got to his feet. "Come on, let’s go see the show."
I quickly set down the fruit plate and followed Sebastian Forrest toward the area where Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard had vanished.
The banquet was being held inside a five-star hotel. We passed through a connecting corridor, but we didn’t see a soul.
"What should we do? We’ve lost them..." I started to panic. ’My whole reason for coming here today was to figure out the relationship between Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard, and now they’re gone...’
"SHHH..." Sebastian Forrest pressed a finger to his lips, gesturing for me to be quiet, then pointed to a changing room in the distance.
I quickly covered my mouth and held my breath, following step by step behind Sebastian Forrest as we approached the changing room. Sure enough, I heard a faint moan, like the mewing of a kitten.
Sebastian Forrest slowly pushed open the door to an adjacent fitting room, and we could immediately hear the clear voices of a man and a woman.
"Mr... Mr. Lombard, don’t... What if someone finds us?"
Clara Langley’s voice was laced with thick fear; she was clearly terrified.
When I heard Vincent Lombard’s voice, I couldn’t help but cover my mouth, afraid of making even the slightest sound.
’It’s actually true!’
’I was completely shocked, unable to believe it. Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard?’
’Have they lost their minds?’
’Doesn’t Vincent Lombard always treat Theodore Grant like a son?’
’And isn’t Clara Langley supposed to be getting her marriage license with Theodore Grant at the end of the month?’
"We can’t..." Clara Langley apparently still had some sense left and continued to resist.
After a RUSTLE of fabric, Vincent Lombard’s voice grew thick. "Clara, you’ve been waiting for me, haven’t you?"
"Oh, what are you doing..."
Just then, a pair of large hands suddenly covered my ears. I instinctively glanced up, my eyes meeting Sebastian Forrest’s dark, deep gaze.
I couldn’t help but feel my face flush. Even though Sebastian Forrest was covering my ears and I couldn’t hear the sounds Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard were making, I knew they were definitely doing *it*.
’And here I was, eavesdropping with Sebastian Forrest...’
Just as I was so embarrassed I wished the ground would swallow me whole, the hands over my ears suddenly released. I looked up in surprise.
The corners of Sebastian Forrest’s mouth lifted as he silently mouthed two words to me: *It’s over.*
"..."
’That was quick.’
’I doubt it even lasted a minute.’
"Ugh, this is all your fault. How am I supposed to go out and face anyone now!" Clara Langley whined.
"Well, who told you to dress so provocatively today! Were you trying to seduce me on purpose?"
"I did not!" Clara Langley swatted at him. "Mr. Lombard, you’re awful. You’re always so reckless. Last time, when Theodore Grant took me to the hospital, he almost found out. It’s a good thing I lied to the doctor and said I’d bumped my stomach, otherwise the secret would have been out."
Hearing this, I instinctively exchanged a look with Sebastian Forrest. ’He’d been right all along.’
’Sebastian Forrest’s suspicions had started with that pregnancy test report...’
’So, the woman fooling around with Vincent Lombard in my mother-in-law’s room that day was Clara Langley!’
At that thought, a surge of pure rage welled up in my chest!
’How dare that despicable pair!’
’They actually did *that* in my mother-in-law’s bedroom!’
’Do those two have any sense of shame whatsoever!’
"Relax, I know what I’m doing. You’re almost three months along, so the pregnancy is stable. There won’t be any issues." Having just finished, Vincent Lombard’s voice was languid, clearly drained of energy.
’Three months...’
I frowned slightly. ’So the baby really isn’t Theodore Grant’s.’
’I originally suspected the baby in Clara Langley’s belly belonged to her ex-husband, but now it looks like it’s Vincent Lombard’s!’
’This is absolutely ridiculous!’
’She’s pregnant with Vincent Lombard’s child, yet she still plans to marry Theodore Grant!’
’If they actually get married, when Clara Langley’s child is born, would it call Theodore Grant "Daddy" or "Big Brother"?!’
"Still, no more of this," Clara Langley complained as she straightened her clothes. "I’m counting on this baby to marry Theodore Grant. He seems to really love kids. The moment he heard I was pregnant, he immediately agreed to divorce Chelsea Joyce to marry me..."
"He and Chelsea Joyce were married for two years without having a kid. She must be the one who can’t conceive. Of course he’s thrilled you’re pregnant!" Vincent Lombard’s tone shifted, his laughter taking on a malicious edge as if a new thought had struck him. "Did you sleep with Theodore Grant last time? Who’s better in bed, him or me? Hmm?"
"Mr. Lombard!" Clara Langley was suddenly annoyed. "Stop joking around. Theodore Grant has never even touched me..."
