Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Are You Jealous?

Chloe Sterling looked up and met Tristan Sinclair’s eyes.

"Chloe, what a coincidence."

"President Sinclair!" Chloe Sterling glanced beside him. "Are you here for lunch by yourself?"

"They’ve already gone to our private room." Tristan Sinclair sat down opposite her and glanced at the baby sitting on the inside of the booth. "Helping your friend babysit again?" he asked curiously.

Chloe Sterling looked at the baby. "No, I’m with a friend. She went to the restroom."

"Oh." A smile touched Tristan Sinclair’s lips, and he suddenly reached out to touch the baby’s soft, pale cheek.

Noticing the movement, the baby instantly recoiled to avoid his touch. He didn’t like strangers touching him. He then scooted his little bottom further into the booth, putting more distance between them.

Tristan Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Why are you hiding?"

The baby pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

Tristan Sinclair then remembered the child supposedly couldn’t speak.

Chloe Sterling explained, "The baby doesn’t like being touched by strangers."

"We’ve met before. Am I still a stranger?" Tristan Sinclair asked, looking at the baby.

Then he watched as the baby suddenly opened his mouth and said a single word, "Yes!"

Tristan Sinclair froze for a second, then broke into a smile. ’So he can talk after all.’

"President Sinclair, would you like a glass of juice?" Chloe Sterling asked.

"No, thank you. Don’t let me keep you. I should get going." After speaking, Tristan Sinclair stood up and headed toward his private room.

A little later, Jean Kensington returned. Seeing the baby sitting so far inside the booth, she asked, "Honey, why are you huddled all the way in there?"

The baby said, "Someone was just sitting here."

"Huh? Someone?" Jean Kensington looked at Chloe Sterling. "Who was it?"

"Tristan Sinclair is at this restaurant, too. He came over and sat for a moment."

"He’s here too!" Jean Kensington instantly recalled his handsome yet arrogant face, and his attitude toward her. She couldn’t help but pout. "Good thing I missed him."

Chloe Sterling raised an eyebrow. "Are you afraid of him?" As she spoke, she poured her a glass of juice.

Jean Kensington immediately retorted, "Who’s afraid of him? I’m not his subordinate!"

"But you still didn’t dare face him!" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"I didn’t want to see him, it’s not that I didn’t dare to, okay?"

Just then, the waiter brought their food, and the two dropped the subject.

After finishing lunch, the three of them planned to go to the Crimson Wing Dojo.

On the way, they passed the Lockwood Group Tower. Chloe Sterling stopped the car at a red light, her gaze unconsciously drifting toward the Lockwood Tower. ’It’s lunchtime. I wonder if Jasper Lockwood has eaten yet. He’s seemed so busy lately.’

Just as she was thinking this, Jasper Lockwood’s figure suddenly entered her field of vision. He was walking out of the Lockwood Tower, accompanied by two men and a woman.

The woman was beautiful and stylishly dressed. She walked with them, her eyes fixed on Jasper Lockwood’s back, never straying for even a moment.

"Hey? Isn’t that President Lockwood?" Jean Kensington, in the passenger seat, had noticed the group as well. Her eyes landed on the woman with the adoring gaze, and she frowned. "Who is she?"

Chloe Sterling pulled her gaze away. "I don’t know," she said, pressing the accelerator and driving through the intersection.

Jean Kensington gave her a knowing smirk. "Ms. Chloe, are you getting jealous?"

Chloe Sterling maintained a nonchalant expression. "There’s no shortage of beautiful women at the Lockwood Group, and plenty of women in the entire Imperial admire Jasper Lockwood. If I got jealous over every single one, I’d have died from bitterness by now."

That’s what she said, but Chloe Sterling still felt a prickle of discomfort. She couldn’t resist glancing at her rearview mirror and saw that the woman was now standing right beside Jasper Lockwood, laughing as they spoke.

The four of them headed into the restaurant next door.

Chloe Sterling’s fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel. She then pulled her gaze away, focusing intently on the road ahead.

Jean Kensington noticed her small movement. "It’s okay to be jealous, you know. I won’t laugh at you. Besides, it’s totally normal."

Chloe Sterling shot her a sideways glance, her eyes filled with a clear warning.

Jean Kensington just smiled and said no more.

Once they arrived at the dojo, the baby began his Ancient Martial Arts lesson with Chase Langdon, his focused expression looking both cool and adorable.

Chloe Sterling didn’t stay long. She had planned to make a trip to Orchid Labs HQ, but a glance at the time told her it was already past three. ’It’ll take an hour to get there, and Faith Morrison will probably have left by then.’

After some thought, she decided against it and headed back to The Lockwood Residence early.

「A Private Villa.」

Silas Coldwell strode into the living room, exuding a murderous aura. His face was impossibly dark.

Behind him, Zane Stratton followed cautiously, hardly daring to breathe.

Silas Coldwell whirled around, glaring at him. "This is the top-level pharmacist you told me about?" he snarled. "How is he any different from a useless piece of trash?"

Zane Stratton lowered his head. "It’s my fault, sir. I’ll find another one."

But they both knew it was incredibly difficult to find a Pharmacist capable of countering Chloe Sterling’s Enchanting Fragrance. If such a person truly existed, they would already be world-renowned. That was why so many people were fixated on Lynn Chester.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. "What exactly do I lack compared to Jasper Lockwood?" Silas Coldwell suddenly demanded. "Why him and not me? Am I not as handsome as he is? Or not as wealthy?"

Zane Stratton immediately replied, "You are, of course, more handsome than Jasper Lockwood, sir. And your wealth is certainly no less than his."

"Then why? Why can she be with Jasper Lockwood, but not with me?"

After a moment of contemplation, Zane Stratton offered, "Could it be because Jasper Lockwood offered Miss Chester marriage? A home? Miss Chester may be powerful, but she’s still a young woman at heart. She must long for a home."

Silas Coldwell shot back, "I gave her a home, too! I told her she could pick any house in all of Country E to live in! I just... didn’t bring up the topic of marriage."

"Exactly. You always framed it as a partnership," Zane said. "Miss Chester probably thought you just wanted her as a subordinate."

Silas Coldwell’s lip twitched. "Would I be this damned indulgent with a subordinate? Treat them this well?"

Zane Stratton blurted out, "Of course not."

Silas Coldwell glared. "Hm?"

"No, that’s not it," Zane Stratton explained hastily. "I didn’t mean it like that. Boss, you treat us very well. I meant that you’re clearly different with Miss Chester. She’s the one who failed to understand your intentions."

"Hmph!" Silas Coldwell snorted, walking over to the sofa and slumping into it.

After a moment’s hesitation, Zane Stratton spoke again. "Boss, I think... finding another Pharmacist to counter the Enchanting Fragrance might be too difficult. Perhaps we should try a different approach."

Silas Coldwell glanced up at him. "What do you have in mind?"

"Given Miss Chester’s personality, she would never tolerate betrayal. If Jasper Lockwood were to betray her, she would leave him for sure. So... what if we found a woman to seduce Jasper Lockwood?"

"Do you take Jasper Lockwood for an idiot? Besides, even if Lynn Chester does leave him, what makes you think she’ll come to me?"

"Well..." Zane Stratton trailed off. "I admit I haven’t thought that far ahead, sir."

Silas Coldwell’s eyes narrowed. "Still," he said slowly, "getting her to leave Jasper Lockwood first isn’t a bad idea. It’ll save me the displeasure of seeing those two together."

"That Phoebe Sinclair certainly hasn’t given up hope. Perhaps we could..."

"She’s useless!" Silas Coldwell cut him off. "A stupid woman like that could never win over Jasper Lockwood in a million years." A glint flashed in his eyes as he added slowly, "But... there is one person who just might."
